I watched that show. Glad he was executed. What a nut job but my heart ached for his mother.

BBM Mine did, too. I cried when she spoke and cried (even tho' we couldn't see her face). It was so pitiful. Murderers don't worry about their families and how these horrific things they do affect them.
And he seemed so intelligent; it makes me wonder what went wrong with him. Looks like he had anger-management problems and absolutely , no remorse. The first person he murdered cut him off on the road (such a simplistic thing to me). Another nut bit the dust.
I had a scary thing happen to me in Pa. years ago. I made a right turn and went in to 7-11 and this young guy followed me and told me I cut him off. He started to rage at me and said that old people shouldn't drive, among others things I can't say here. It was kinda scary. I told him he was driving in a 30 mile an hour zone and he must've been driving very fast for him to think I cut him off. The clerk at the 7-11 apologized to me- thank goodness he was there. Who knows what that young man could have done. Still scares me to this day. :scared:

Hello everyone. Its been awhile since I last posted about this trial. I was hoping to find out Jodis penalty phase had already begun, but was disappointed again.

I cant say I am too surprised though that it was postponed again. I will actually be surprised if it happens this year. I have lost faith in ever seeing her sentenced. Maybe someday...LOL

I also see the DT is up to their old shenanigans with trying to get access to twitter accounts from I think it was prospective jurors. That is just crazy and if any judge allows that, then no juror would ever want to sit on a jury again. That is getting way too personal with the jurors. I think the DT maybe just looking for attention for Jodi again. Jodi must assume every person has a twitter account in her world. I know a lot of people that dont even have one. Is Facebook next to ask the judge.
Crazy, just crazy.

Oh well....this case has been known to drive me crazy, so not too surprised by any of it.
Hope the delays stop soon and we need to get this show on the road. When it finally starts, im hoping for a Jodi outburst where she has to be gagged and shackled. LOL

I've posed a question in the Legal thread to find out if this is standard procedure before trial to see if the two sides can reach a settlement or if it means that something may be close in terms of a plea deal.

Don't want anybody, myself included, getting all excited anic: for no reason.

AZLawyer kindly answered my question.

Q: Is it routine for the judge to schedule a settlement conference prior to trial?

Does this mean that there is a possible plea in the works, or is this just routine to see if the opposing sides can reach a settlement?

A: Totally routine.

AZLawyer also offered some cautionary advice: "The first thing we have to remember is that (IMO) about 10% of the stuff on the Maricopa County Superior Court docket website is wrong. So maybe there's going to be a hearing and maybe not."

For those following the legal proceedings, keep an eye out for the minute entry recording the scheduling of this settlement conference; it may provide greater clarity. If no minute entry is recorded, this might point to an error.

Excellent question and I'm sure that her lawyers would like to know as well. Maybe this is one of the reasons behind the subpoena for her phone records?

These tweets can't be making things any easier for her defense team and one has to wonder if her minion is missing the common sense to realize this.

I did have to laugh at the irony of her tweet today. Remember the good ol' doc? As in Dr. Samuels? He gave her "Your Erroneous Zones" as a gift. The author of the book is also credited with the quote she tweeted today. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

One other thing...there are some rumors today about a possible plea deal and a new-found mystery witness. The "official" family website on FB is dispelling these as rumors. Right now, they are still trying to set up an account for her appeal.

I poked around a few of herbsister's FB pages and she got married and has 2 kids and seems busy and there is zero mention of CMJA on siter's FB's. Her Aunt, mom's twin, does discuss her etc...

I am looking at the family FB page (jodiann.ariasfamily ?) and don't see anything about dispelling any rumors...am I missing something? :scared:

My main (maybe only) reason for thinking that something is behind it is that the last time there was a settlement conference, she (the convicted killer) has been very vocal saying she was trying to work out a plea deal then.

After everything that has gone on with this case, it strikes me odd that the judge would schedule one of these knowing where the goal posts are and what a waste of time one would be - esp. since oral arguements for motions has already been scheduled for 20 days before it. Maybe JSS believes in miracles and some slight amount of sense has filtered into the DT.
