9 days ago she trashed Travis in an interview less than a half hour after the verdict, calling him an abuser (again), a hypocrite and a pedophile (again). She took it even farther this time claiming she had photographic evidence of said "abuse" and "pedophilia" that her attorneys wouldn't put into evidence (riiiiiiiiiight). There is zero remorse in her for what she has done and I doubt there ever will be. If her tears yesterday were real, it was because she knows the jig is up and these jurors really are going to hold her accountable for what she has done -- something she's never ever had to do in her life.

I think when Steven and Samantha spoke, her thoughts were "oh s***, this is bad for me, really bad.". :twocents:
We all keep forgetting... this creature does not think like us, does not react like we would and has few redeeming human qualities, if any. JMO, of course

Can somebody tell me what exactly JA's Mitigation specialist has accomplished. Her selection of expert witnesses was a profound failure and now they're scrambling to find people to testify in the mitigation phase. She was recently approved for another 100 hours of 'mitigation' work in the penalty phase and it appears that time is to be spent looking pretty at a table by herself passing notes back and forth from the convict to whoever receives the notes. I don't get it. Shouldn't these witnesses have been lined up months or even years ago??

Last night on DD Jenny and DD mentioned about the tweets she received about not wanting Jodi to get the death penalty, how she thinks Jodi is terrible? etc, etc. What I took exception to the night before) was not her opinion, but what/how she said it, "Jodi is a human being." Like what was Travis a piece of garbage.

Also I am disappointed with Beth K. This morning (did anyone see her) she said how none of the jurors had tears (that is not my issue), I took issue when she said I think the jurors have made up their minds, I HOPE NOT, I WANT JODI TO GET A FAIR HEARING, para phasing. And Beth knows a lot more about this murder than the jury!!!
What is wrong with the jury having made up their minds. They sat there for 4 months, voted on guilty M1, voted on cruelty, so if they (jurors) have made up their minds at this point,so be it. So beth says she hopes not, not fair to Jodi. Jodi, Jodi, Jodi.. I believe Jodi has received above and beyond a fair trail. Money was no object in this case. Beth did it for me, I am fed up with all the talking heads, defense lawyers and such. my opinion only

I read that some of the jurors were crying.

Why wasn't JA handcuffed at the Defense table after the verdict of M1 read like others are (Conrad Murray, or anyone else I have watched)? I know she is already in custody, but the jurors didn't know that, right?

He was not in custody. Jodi is already in custody and is wearing a belt. She is not going anywhere.

It was said on HLN yesterday because the phases are not done. The court system gives her every chance possible at a fait trial.
That is what they said is the reason.

Myself I do not think this will happen, those jurors were cying yesterday.

They want to see her hang too.

I'm not as confident about it as you are. I still think there's a 50/50 chance she gets LWOP. She deserves the DP, if only for the hideous lifestyle she will lead because of it, but I'm not so sure they will give it to her.

I have to believe that true justice will be served. Sure there is a chance at everything but hopefully she is going down. Down to that little cement cell for the duration of her time until they wheel her in and put her out of her misery.

none of these people have a CLUE what's in the minds of those jurors. that includes BK. how could she possibly know they've made up their minds? she doesn't know any such thing.
same as JC breathlessly saying 'there's dissension on this jury!!!!' when there was obviously not----they came in with a verdict that was unanimous and agreed on cruelty too.

so don't worry about what the TH's say. the only people who know what the jurors are thinking are the jurors themselves. the TH's are just talking for TV. they don't know any more than WE do about what the jury's thinking.

Maybe Sandy Arias doesn't want to face cross, perhaps risking perjury.

This is exactly what I think as well. She is no match for JM. Under the heat of cross, she would fold like a cheap lawn chair.

I can't wait to see what he plans to do with Womack and her rap sheet. With the threat of JM looming, I'd want to hide my face too. :panic:

She will be in full shackles etc at the final sentencing w Judge Stevens in a few weeks. I'll be there to see it even though all the cameras and media will be gone (local coverage I'm sure). I'm with you, I want to see her chained and "debased" like the common criminal she is.

I did see her yesterday walk swiftly across the courtroom toward the back in her baggy pants, ugly black shoes, ghostly pallor, hideous greasy hair and limp from the stun belt.

Well, the Mitigation Specialist is supposed to look into JA's entire life, home, all family, all schools, all doctors, all friends, and anything else, to find out all about her. To find out if she was abused, if she suffers from any mental illness then or now, if she killed kittens or hugged them, if she had any friends, if she harmed friends or helped them, and the list goes on.

Then the Mitigation Specialist is to help the DT in preparing their mitigation procedure, speech, witness for JA, and what to bring to the juries attention. Since we are not finished with whatever will be said on behalf of JA, we don't know how much was found to be helpful. Even if not much was found, hours go into that work, she also has to endure hours with JA, lol.

I have no idea about the hours requested for pay, but she does get paid for her in Court hours too, I'm sure the hours had to be somehow itemized for the Judge's approval. (Side Note: The big cross could go, or at least be tucked inside though. Looks kind of 1980s Madonna Style, even if she means it as a religious symbol.)

Ms. Womack was supposed to testify about the childhood abuse suffered by Arias ... if she doesn't testify, the DT can add the family back in so they can testify as to what a wonderful child Arias was or maybe they'll get Arias' mother to say that she beat her relentlessly. If I were a juror, I would not believe anything out of the mouths of the mitigation witnesses as Arias is still driving the bus.

JMO - for the murderer's Mum to testify, it will heve to be a very brief, organized, even surgical type of testimony. The existence of the police interview done with her in July 2008 can be used to impeach her if she strays from what she told police then. I have no doubt JM has that transcript readily available should Mum take the stand. I don't see how Mum can say what "needs" to be said to help the murderer. Nor do I see any way for the jury to miss the fact that no family members will testify. This is a catch 22 for the DT - the jury is seriously going to be wondering why no family members will testify on her behalf. Nurmi can throw that into the category of no family support but it does not negate the fact that Mum has been present every day. Such a tangled web around the murderer...

You would think! The mitigation phase should have been ready to go and witnesses line up to testify.

Oh my god, the 2 pairs of glasses thing is killing me :floorlaugh:

I'll have to try it!!!!

OT...well actually it isn't cause this is the OT thread

I will be visiting london next week with my daughter and her friend, any Londoner's here who could give me some tips, and/or must see places??? :)

Not from London but you have to go to the Tate Gallery and see Leonardo's cartoon of St John the Baptist, Jesus and the 2 Mary's. It takes up the entire room it's housed in and will take your breath away. Here I was thinking it would be a small drawing like the poster I have of it. Worth the airfare just to visit that gallery alone IMO. Have an amazing time!!

I dont think she should have even the smallest luxury of those colored sheets...jmo...she should have dingy old white scratchy sheets...:twocents:

I believe they have colored sheets because if they try to use them for escaping they are easier seen than just white.

It's this kind of thing that makes it difficult to feel sorry for SA. I'm a mother, and I can't imagine being in her shoes. And I do feel like she has been previously afraid of JA and was probably even more so once she found out what happened to Travis.

But, the way she has acted at times makes it difficult for me to feel sorry for her.

I brought this over from the last thread since it closed before I could respond but I agree. There is something truly off with her emotional reactions just like Jodi's. I do think being the family member of someone who does something like this is their own kind of hell. They also have also basically lost a family and have to live knowing what their family member did to someone else, while be looked at just as wrong as the criminal on occasion.

Seeing SA's reactions are just so strange. She doesn't seem upset or horrified, or even have a natural human response that most strangers have had to what has been testified and shown done to Travis. She isn't a lawyer or law enforcement officer and used to this kind of situation. She doesn't look at her daughter with any kind of love. She looks at the prosecution and what I assume is the direction of the jury and Travis's family with anger and resentment.
