I think Momma Robin is in 'egg labor'! She has been sitting in the nest for about 45 mins now and doesn't move much. Would love getting a picture of her, but afraid I might scare her away. I did check the nest early this morning and no eggs, soooo maybe this is it! Will start using the front door now. Will keep you updated :)

From all I've been reading, she will lay one a day; up to four eggs.

I'm  and

I do believe every day is Hug Your Cat Day...as long as the cat is up for it, otherwise, too bad..."Paws off, human...and get me a gooshy nom while you're at it"...lol. I love dogs and cats equally and have been mama to both, but I like a cat's "to hell with ya" attitude...like they're in on some big cosmic joke and we silly people have no clue. :)

Popsicle is obviously people-oriented though; what a sweet creature...and love the name!

14 Years After Andrea Yates Killed Her Children, Her Ex-Husband Is 'Hopeful' For Her Release (with clip)

"...Though she and Rusty have since divorced, he supports his ex-wife and strongly believes she should someday be a free woman....
...Rusty explains how he has forgiven Andrea for taking their children's lives and why he believes she is not a danger to society.
"As long as she's taking anti-psychotic medicine, she's no danger to anyone," he says...

"I'm hopeful," Rusty says. "Maybe in three to five years, maybe she'd have a chance of release."

her or she'll be highly insulted. )

What an adorable baby, we had a salt and pepper like that before we got our black one. They are great dogs.

It was really cool! Really, REALLY COOL!

Don't razz me, but honestly, white folks can't dance, lol! I wouldn't dance unless I had some liquid courage in me, and that's so, so long ago. Remember ol' Lawrence Welk? Those dancers were so...........cheesy..........lol!When I stayed with my grandparents, I always got stuck watching it with them on Sunday afternoons. "And a one, and a two...." my grandpa use to say when Lawrence got his band ready. Gramps was a clarinet player in a Big Band before he got married. Not too much I like that ol' gramps liked, except horses.

Dahmn, that Alice could cut a rug, couldn't she? What a treasure she is!

I wasn't sure if I could post this on the other JA thread, so putting it here.

Curious if anyone here has read the book Confessions of a Sociopath. I just finished it and found myself reflecting on JA. One interesting element is that the author is from the Mormon community, and so some of those details added to my understanding of the Travis-Jodi relationship.

As would be expected with a book like this, there has been controversy. The author apparently appeared in disguise on the Dr Phil show at one point. And although she used a pseudonym to write the book, she has now been outed on the internet.

As someone who has been reading true crime and related subjects for the past 30 years, I found it quite interesting to read. Of course one has to wonder if everything is true, but even if you suspend your disbelief on that point a bit, the book helped me gain a deeper understanding of the things that differentiate a sociopath from other personality disorders (even though of course there is overlap among them and it would never be possible to fully isolate them as they describe patterns of human behavior/thinking/emotions).

The woman who wrote the book was officially diagnosed as a sociopath by a clinical psychologist and the report is in the book. In the book she explains why she prefers the term sociopath to psychopath for herself.

Taking the book simply on face value, and not getting too attached to the pure veracity of everything in it, I think many people who've followed this trial would enjoy it. I don't know if there is a place on WS to discuss books, but it would be fun to discuss with anyone who has read it. Feel free to PM me if there is such a spot.

DH and I walked around the house today checking things out. We found another robin's nest with just one egg in it, that egg had hatched and the poor little thing had died. This nest was just about 60 feet from the nest on our deck. I read that some robins will make many nest and just lay 1 egg in 3 or 4 different nests. Wondering if it's the same robin? Makes me also wonder if she has any more nest with just 1 egg in it?

My mother was a fanatic about The Lawrence Welk show - she knew everyone's business from that show (who married who, who had a baby, etc.)- you'd think it was her family she was talking about.)

WS has a book thread downstairs: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?66-Websleuths-Book-Club

Haven't read the book, but it sounds interesting. I took a gander at the link provided by you and found this:

"Most of the time I don’t need to show any emotion at all, and I try to limit the times that I do by begging off attending funerals, weddings, etc. When I do show up to these functions, I try to mimic the other attendees. If I’m dealing with a person one-on-one, I just try to reflect their emotions; usually they’re distracted enough by their own overflowing emotions not to notice my lack of them."

Sounds just like the murderer, IMO.

Eg ads.... Lawrence Welk Show gets the credit for my parents making me take accordion lessons for 7+ years...... and an accordion polka band at my first wedding. Now, that was exciting for the 19-20 year old friends. :doorhide:

(I wanted to stick with the flute.... but at least the accordion gave me nimble fingers for transcription work for many years)

I went to moms today. She has a computer that we got her a few years ago. She only wanted a computer so she could have a facebook and connect with her friends. She does not really know how to use the computer. She does not post on facebook. She just keeps tabs on her friends. Anyway, her computer was not working right and she asked me to fix it. I am no guru. I only know a few things. Mom had about 25 tabs of her facebook page opened. I couldn't even close them down with out going to the task menu. So, I ended all her sessions and installed a C-cleaner. I looked at the analysis of the C-Cleaner and she had 2million temporary files. 2 million! No wonder her computer wasn't responding. I ran the C-Cleaner which got rid of all those files and now all is fine and she is back on her facebook page.
Anyway, I did what Spellbound told me to do yesterday with my computer and everything is fine. Looks normal. Hope it stays that way.

Hi Ricki , I have a new HP 8. I had no problems because as you said with mom I really don't go too many places. Well while looking for a "puppy " I picked up this google "my way" front page. I don't want this! It directs my posts to the side and puts on something else. I cant get it off! between that and the change here I am going bananas. By the time I get where I'm going, I forget what I wanted! people are complaining all over the place so its not just me ( for a change)..Tell your mom if she picks it up, get help. I have my nephew coming he will know how to delete it.

I read that a while back, fascinating isn't it. Though I was thinking I had read it on a blog somewhere, but maybe not, maybe it was the excerpts from the book on Amazon. It's just hard to keep up with everything I read, but now considering getting the book. Idk, maybe I'll check out some more reviews first. :)
