"...The mental illness that drove Hinckley to shoot Reagan in a delusional effort to impress actress Jodie Foster has been in full and sustained remission for years, Levine has said. He said Hinckley has shown he is a "law-abiding citizen" and not dangerous, and he accused the government of "fear-mongering."

Deon Merene, the hospital's deputy general counsel, told the judge that Hinckley has recovered his sanity. There "will always be some risk," but Hinckley poses a "low risk of danger at this time," she said..."

filed. 'Ya Gotta google it! I would have put page thingy on but from google? if I am right it's a woman, grad from Florida 1979! ?

As a Mother we want the best for our children..my heart is breaking right now. Our oldest son is an alcoholic and he has been sober for a few years now. He started drinking again and is in a bad way. He is in the hospital because he is diabetic and his sugar levels were 800 and sober him up. I am praying that we will go back to Rehab and start all over again. I should have know a few weeks ago something was not right He stopped smoking... We he drinks he doesn't smoke and when we smokes he doesn't drink. Why didn't I see this coming?

This is not the first time we have been down this road with him...sigh; we were so happy when he stayed sober so long this time...

Need prayer for my son, my husband, and myself. Why do I feel I am tooooo old go through this again?! I tired and weary is all....

CJ, many of us have been down that road. There is only so much we can do. I don't say that lightly. My mom was an alcoholic . I think it is much harder if it is your child. His sugar is very high but they will get it down. We can all say a prayer for him. Take good care of yourself as much as you can. It's the weight of the world when it's your child. lease:

:therethere: Coffeejunkie, I have gone down that same path with my son for over 20 years now. At least 3 inpatient programs, sober for a year or so max. It just does not get easier on the mother's heart. Do your best to not let this affect your own health. I am here for you, as are all of us. Feel free to contact me if you need extra support. You kind Sidebar friends brings tears to my eyes...the caring and outpour of love is amazing here!

I just got off the phone with his nurse at he hospital. He had a rough night, tried pulling his IV's out. He's detoxing and I have found out it's better off not being there with him as it is very disturbing what he goes through. I want so much be by his side, but it's better I wait till he is sober. I will keep in touch with the hospital a couple times a day and his partner keeps me posted.

Everyone has a cross they must face, been here man times before. Was so hopeful that the last few years was the last of the setbacks.

May favorite motto is: "and this too shall pass"...
