Dr Stark says it's hard to age injuries, many factors to be considered. They're hours or days old #badenclay

Police attended at Bwana-Castle at some stage didn't they? I wonder what they were offered their tea or coffee in? Mugs or cup & saucer?

10:30am:

Sergeant Jackson asked: "Gerard, the cut that's on your hand, what's that?"

"Helping my friend renovate his house," Mr Baden-Clay replied.

Senior Sergeant Curtis said: "There doesn't seem to be a reason why she would have done this this morning."

Mr Baden-Clay replied: "And that's what's bothering me."

Sorry if it has already been answered? I remember something in the early stages about he stated he did the cuts on hand changing a light bulb in another house?

Dr Stark says dot marks next to Gerard's mouth look like an abrasion, couldn't be precise about when they were caused #badenclay

Just a brief comment.
Firstly, I noticed that both Olivia and Gerard used the exact phrase: "don't want to be alarmist". 1) Gerard to emergency and police; 2) Olivia stated that her mother said this to her upon waking her up that morning.

Second, it's coincidental IMO that Allison's phone was identified in the neighbour's backyard after Olivia had been out and about that morning. It wasn't ringing earlier when they checked, then later it is located in the neighbour's backyard and it rings. Gerard had not left the house. NBC was out front with vacumn cleaner, etc. Interesting.

"These injuries are typical of fingernail scratches" forensic expert tells #badenclay trial. @7NewsBrisbane

12:13pm: Dr Stark said the scratches were "typical of fingernail scratches".

"It's not diagnostic, it's not 100 per cent, but in my experience ... this is a very typical presentation of being scratched with fingernails," she said.

12:12pm: The court has been shown a photograph of the scratches on Mr Baden-Clay's face.

"Certainly from the photographs they look as though they are abrasion injuries ... that results from contact with a rough surface," Dr Stark said.

She said there were three clear abrasions on Mr Baden-Clay's face, which appeared to be orange or yellow in colour, as well as smaller "redder" injuries.

"You've got three abrasion injuries; one vertically down the cheek and one running in an elliptical way ... and those injuries are sort of 'orangey' colour and then you've some redder abrasions," she said.

"That's suggesting maybe two sets of injuries caused at different times."

Dr Stark said the "redder" injuries may have occurred more recently than the "yellow" injuries.

"They're not fresh as in being ... in the last couple of hours, but they're hours or days old," she said, referring to the "yellow" injuries.

They obviously weren't there when he bought and took sausages to BWANA's and girls have not said anything about them being there before they went to bed. So stretching it out - happened between 7.00pm on 19/4 and 8.00am on 20/4. In the appropriate time frame!!

Kate Kyriacou ‏@KateKyriacou 48s

Dr Stark says you would have needed to have nails to make the scratches. Couldn't have had nails bitten down. #badenclay
