I think that's what everyone is forgetting this girl has been abused and manipulated by at least 2 people she should have been able to trust. We don't know her mental capacity she very well could be so traumatized that she's still 10 developmentally we don't know. I don't care how people are trying to spin it he's the adult he Knew and knows better yet encouraged this and let it continue. The constant need for some people on SM to blame her makes me really upset. She deserves better than that. I agree with everything you said lets get her home that's most important then we can see what her needs are and treat her accordingly and even if his friends are saying she's not in danger I don't believe that these same friends all said he wouldn't do this and he did MOO[emoji202]

A VERY simular situation took place my daughters freshman year of high school, which was just a couple years ago. The only big difference was the age of the teacher was 29, and the school took action RIGHT AWAY when a student reported some suspicions. He was arrested and remains in jail. However, the girl was and still is often blamed for her "role in it" all and very rarely considered the victim when its talked about. Students especially say that she was a willing participant, to which I try and explain the lack of brain development at 15 years old! (By coincidence today was the 3 year anniversary of his arrest. )

I believe that because of the lack of sightings/tips, TC may have had help. I think it's possible that someone is concealing them. Has anyone else considered the possibility of sex trafficking?

She IS being sex trafficked.........by none other than Tad Cummins himself.

Great thoughts on here today. I'm in SC and haven't gotten on AA for her.

Regarding them keeping their SM accounts open I agree it's for them to monitor what's going on or keep people off their real track, otherwise he, at least, would have deleted them. Wouldn't IG accounts show when the last log in happened? Assuming that LE could access that info considering the circumstances.

So many great points in this post, thanks steelman!

I did wonder why after all the obvious planning involved that TC did not delete his IG account before leaving. Perhaps the "clues" were red herrings. Or maybe they were genuine interests at the time of they were posted but TC knew LE (and the rest of us) would go over those posts with a fine-tooth comb.

Regarding burner phones, how would one evade GPS locators? Would turning the "Location" option off be sufficient? Or is it not even a concern when the phone you're using isn't registered under your name in the first place? (And presumably, no calls would be made to family and friends.)

You can simply turn the location GPS to "off", just like any phone. It wouldn't really matter anyway since nobody would know you had the phone to start with. As long as he doesn't make any phone calls to anybody, nobody will have his number. His undoing will be if he logs onto one of his social media accounts and the ISP is tracked back to his phone, which may still prove to be fruitless if he is accessing public wi-fi. Maybe that could be traced, maybe it couldn't, I really don't know.

There's no telling how many different surveillance cameras TC has appeared on in the last week.......but who would know which cameras to even review ? I can understand how maddening this would be for LE since they apparently have no idea which direction they may have headed or how far they traveled, not to mention the first night they were gone prior to the AA being issued, they had 10 hours of total darkness to cruise along in. Surveillance cameras don't normally have very good definition in the dark, especially from a distance.

When did the school notify LE about the incident? Am I missing where that is stated?

I'm surprised he didn't deactivate his Instagram account, or at least change the name! He was posting to it until hours before kidnapping TE.

I'm thinking perhaps he doesn't think anyone would go so far as to google his name and find it? He's probably right, LE and the School obviously never searched, it was the members here that found his SM accounts.

:seeya: at the media!!!

According to the article I just posted it was Jan 31 from the article

Burner phones can't be traced like a normal phone but they can be traced. I am sure LE has a list of his contacts and it is those who they are monitoring. If he attempts to contact any of them, that's how they can track him.

I pretty much disagree with the idea that they are in a campground or a national park. It takes a lot of gear, groceries, and liquids to survive in a camping type situation for any length of time. There is a large turnover of visitors and strangers coming in and out during all times of the night and day. Depending on where it is, it may also put you well out of internet and phone access. There hasn't been any indication that I know of that Cummins took along a bunch of camping supplies and groceries, which is exactly what you would need in order to "rough it" for a couple of weeks. He's got a 15 year old girl in tow that is used to taking showers, washing her hair, using an indoor toilet, and sleeping in a nice soft bed. I don't think he would attempt to thrust her into a mountain-man lifestyle even for a short time, it's too much of a change too quick.

I envision them staying at one of those cheap motels that you can rent by the week, maybe even a cottage or a cabin in some privately owned get-away resort. I have little doubt that Cummins probably picked up a burner phone at a Dollar store, activated it, and bought about 400 minutes worth of airtime so he could at least monitor things. Keep in mind, most of the smartphones and androids on the market today have internet access and wi-fi built into them. For about $70 bucks, you can be completely outfitted and largely anonymous. That means he could get free internet access if he is within range of a McDonalds, a Wal-mart, a truckstop, or dozens of other businesses that normally have public access to wi-fi. Many motels offer free internet access to their customers. That means that Cummins has the same ability to surf the net and read the same things all of us are reading, including this Websleuths forum, and he may be able to do it free of charge.

As I stated earlier this morning, I think he and ET traveled well out of the initial Amber Alert zone within the first 24 hours. The key to him being unrecognized is to keep her hidden and out of sight. If he's alone, nobody is going to look at him twice if he walks into a convenience store and buys beer or goes to a gas station and fills up with gas. He'll pay for everything with cash of course. As long as the two of them are not seen together, then the average Joe on the street will never connect the dots. His car and license plate would be the biggest giveaway, but that's only if someone is even aware of the Amber Alert and has the ability to pull the plate number up and verify it at the time. I think it's safe to say that your average citizen isn't all that diligent, especially if they are out of the Alert Zone. Since this has been broadcast on all of the major news outlets by now, the chances of somebody five States away actually recognizing him is getting higher. The longer he keeps ET hidden in a room and out of sight, the longer this is going to take. This guy had at least 5 weeks to research and hatch this scheme, and he isn't a dumb person (by definition anyway), so it actually makes sense that he could've managed to get off the grid and get hidden very well in the 24 hours before the Amber Alert went out. For some reason, I think they headed west towards Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, using Interstate 10 and 20 to get where they wanted to go. Whatever and wherever locations he may have shown on his Instagram account...........figure the exact opposite of that.

I'm pretty sure they are not staying at a cheap motel. Cheap motels are the first place where LE look for a suspect. In most places, police make sweeps through motel parking lots on a daily basis looking for wanted license plate numbers. If they were staying at a place like that, they would have already been found.

I also don't think they are concerned much about internet access. I think they just want to be together. I doubt internet access is high on their list of priorities right now. Any internet activity would likely give them away.

I also doubt they traveled out of the state. I think he would want to stay in an area he is familiar with. Plus if they tried to travel any distance, they would likely have already been scanned by an automatic license plate reader. I expect they are hiding out in a remote area of Tennessee, in a place that TC is familiar with.

I haven't understood why either of them had them wide open for the world to see! Especially him, like you said using his name is just weird. What was the purpose?

IMO the school screwed up and they've been trying to cover their butts. They know this is bad for them. The wife claims she had no information that this was possible. They knew this was a big problem. Her position and role in this must be investigated. How the school deferred to her role must be investigated. What a freaking mess.
