The School's First Report/Investigation: Possible motivation for the schools 'foot dragging':,
No new information, just reviewing some of the timeline, for how/when this was finally reported by the school.
1. I was skimming through CT's Twitter account, and noticed that School official, Penny Love, had Liked a post. No big deal, but it may suggest that they had a friendly as well as professional relationship. This may be why there was some 'foot dragging' (I am being diplomatic, but between you and me, I would call it 'obstructing'). Like others, PL may have been so completely fooled, by CT's b.s. persona, that she simply didn't allow herself to consider it as a possibility.
2. Money: I was discussing the reporting, with a retired school administrator. We talked about the Tennessee school system, and how the schools are funded through the Basic Education Plan (BEP). Average Daily Membership (student enrollment), is a main factor, in calculating which schools, get what funds. Ok - pressing on to the politics of it. If a school has a scandal of some sort, parents may pull their children out of that school. It is a good reason, to attend a school out of their 'zone'. I have seen this happen, and reported on the news, a number of times. Parents being interviewed, saying they are pulling their kid out of the school. Especially when it is a teacher/student issue, such as this. The longer they can keep a scandal quiet, the less reaction they get from the parents. And when it does become public, chances are, they have bought enough time, to be able to respond - 'We have fully addressed this issue. And the individual has been ... whatever'. The upshot (opinion), is that school administrative delay, may simply attempt to avoid loosing $tudent$. And Student attendance = school funding. This seems to be an over-arching equation, for many/most public schools, and may indeed, have factored quite significantly, in the early days of this situation.
