In the last Interview Room video with CM and SJ, SJ concluded that the big picture was that DW was trying to come off as the "good guy". Possibly it was an accident which they felt the need to cover up possibly due to drugs or alcohol. DW often alluded to its being CW's fault. DW is now trying to clean up and cover for it. He thinks DW did work that day (alibi) but not the whole day. There is deception. Abduction is just a story. SJ pleaded with DW to tell the truth and gain respect.

I know the planting flowers thing has been discussed ad nauseam, but something struck me today.

My daughter loves Cocomelon and as much as I hate it she actually learns a lot and models / repeats a lot of the songs and things, like brushing teeth which is great. She was watching this morning and I noticed in the “Mother Daughter Song” there’s a sequence where the mom and the little girl “plant flowers”, which is mostly just placing little figurines. I wonder if Summer watched this and wanted to enact it?

Is anyone giving professional help to these people? This seems to be clearly a recipe for total disaster. Why don't we hear of anyone helping them? I am very worried for both of them. Their worlds have imploded, and they are making it worse, but I believe they are making in worse because of undefined mental issues, stress, obviously Summer and the boys being gone, on and on. Is their no one who reads here that lives in the area and can try to do an intervention, or guide them to some help, or don't they want, or won't accept help. This all MOO. Katt
It might be offered by CPS as a condition of getting the boys back. Whether they’re availing themselves of it, who knows?

CM actually explained this last night. He said the family doesn’t speak much but when DW’s step-sister heard Summer was missing, she immediately thought that Don had done something to her and felt she needed to speak out about her experiences.

Yes, in rereading my post it doesn't sound quite the way I meant. Don says someone may have taken her because of what people are saying about him. That doesn't make sense because she was already gone when the family members came out about the SA. Does that make sense?

That's another thing. DW was told by his attorney to remain silent on SM. Which lasted all of a day. Why is he not doing everything he can to get them back!? It seems his arrogance is eclipsing everything else. His main focus right now should be trying to find Summer and getting the boys back not all this SM chaos.

I realize all cases are different and therefore the allowed or expected timeframes are vastly different as well, but what is the average length of time it generally takes parents to get their children back when they have been removed by CPS? Or does anyone know if there is a set time for how long children can be in CPS care before rights are terminated or does that time vary with each case as well? The boys have been gone for quite some time now havent they?
There are a lot of steps before parental rights are terminated. The goal of CPS is to reunite families.

I don’t know anything about the averages but CPS is no doubt listening to all the garbage coming out of DW and CW’s mouths. Unless it is a really lax system I can’t imagine that the public hate-spewing, threats, CYA comments and foulness in general is benefiting their case.

I can’t remember exactly when boys were taken away but it seems like it’s been about three weeks. DW verified it in one of the interviews with CM and there was news coverage when they went to court.

It takes a lot to get your rights terminated - reunification is always the first goal, and that can take time. CPS can require parenting classes, therapy (and not just one or two sessions), supervised visits progressing to one-on-one visits. It can take a very long time.

Yes, the goal is to keep families together, not to separate children from their parents permanently. If the court has made certain recommendations they will monitor them to make sure the parents are meeting any requirements made by CPS or the judge.

Once children are placed in the custody of the state, it can take up to a year to get them back. Every case is unique, but it always seems to be a long process. In this case it may depend on the investigation and whether or not the parents were negligent or responsible for Summer's disappearance. Imo

Yes. I know someone that for a good 3-4 years had children removed, returned, removed several times.

In my states it's a year or two before termination of parental rights. The parents have a parenting plan that they have to follow. If they follow it, they are on the road to reunification. If they refuse to follow it, there are status updates and it can be a year or so before there's an official termination. Parents can also voluntarily relinquish their rights with a contract that outlines the contact they can have with their children in the future. But it is a long process.

I hope for the boys' sake the parents are taking their parenting classes and following the plan.
