Good Lord, he's going to read from the DSM-IV? But had to powerpoint Time Magazine?
Because Time has to be explained, but a medical manual does not?

Yes, but as the mother of an Army MP I find it HIGHLY offensive his first example is a soldier who takes a life in Afghanistan, or a police officer. This woman butchered him in cold blood, and he's using HEROES to make his point?? Go home sir.

It's disgraceful.

Exactly, and if I am not mistaken, it is the memory of these events, or a similar stimulus that causes the physiological symptoms of PTSD. If there is no memory of the event, then there can be no PTSD related to the event. I had PTSD after being robbed at gunpoint more than 30 years ago, it lasted a few years, and very simple things evoked a response, even just the color kelly green would do it. I never told anyone because I thought I was just nuts, but underst.ood what was happening years later.

Right! So if JA actually had PTSD when seeing Pics from that day should have put her into an emotional tail spin.. WHICH THEY DID NOT!

Well, now we know why she threw in running down the hallway after seeing him hitting his head on the door. It's her trigger!

I thought this expert described quite well what Travis must have been experiencing when he was faced with the first weapon.

I have a question.

How does any of this help JA at all?

She still killed Travis - violently and viciously, claiming self-defense despite substantial evidence indicating premeditation. So she can't remember. She's either malingering or not. So what?

She committed premeditated murder.

I don't see the relevance of all this - not yet, anyway.

Another question - did Dr. Samuels indicate how selective the amnesia is relating to 'criminal amnesia'? Especially when it only occurs within a defendant for the few specific acts/events that would hurt her defense? Nothing else? How is that interpreted, I wonder. Malingering comes to mind...

Still, none of this changes what she did and how she planned it.

respectfully snipped and BBM
The day my daughter died was the most traumatic, gut wrenching day of my life... and I remember EVERY. SINGLE. DETAIL. of that day down to what the nurses and doctors were wearing. I had VIVID dreams for months following, detailing every last second of that day.

OK, my child has PTSD from pre adoption trauma and she has ALL of the traits, not the ONE required. Makes me sad to see JA use this. It makes it harder for the people who truly suffer. She showed no PTSD at the pictures, discussing the events, any of it. Hit a nerve....

As JW was asking this very question to the witness I was watching Jodi and she became very nervous with those particular questions. Once JW went on to another line of questions I observed Jodi's body language physically relax.

We should play a clip of that back. I saw that same thing. Her eyes widened and she looked 'alert' when faking the test was mentioned. She relaxed as soon as he said it was not that easy.

Arias asked to see the crime scene photos and wanted to take a trip to Travis' house after the murder. Pray tell, Mr expert, is this characteristic of PSTD?
