You join the other strong souls that have shared their stories. I'm am truly in awe of what so many have gone through, and come out the other side healthy enough to share, and help others.
You, and many other have my admiration. Prayers sent for peace and goodness to all who have been so hurt.

It's very interesting to me how many people in this forum have experience with a BPD loved one. It seems to me that something about this case, and some others, have elements that make those who've dealt with a BPD loved one interested. Maybe it's that the BPD behavior of JA is just so bad that it allows us to see our BPD loved one as more 'normal'...or maybe it's that BPD is more common than I think.

I've been wondering the same thing and came to the conclusion that she already had marks on her neck on June 3rd and that she took photos of them that for some reason were "not allowed". I guess they weren't allowed "in" and we'll find out about them after trial?

moo

I was under the impression the neck marks were from April. Travis and her had a big fight and she was supposed to move away. She parked around the corner and came back....irritating the heck out of him by returning when he thought he was FINALLY getting rid of her.

So eons needs to get ahold of juan Hln is reporting on the same thing someone posted here about what he was disciplined for in 2000 that's why. He's not in. Private practice! Or. Even contact det florez

There's no question that they know everything about this guy including what his underwear size. Every expert is scrutinized in detail by the other side for any dirt they can use to discredit them. That's standard operating procedure for any attorney.

Here's another reason why this witness is a complete waste of time:

The defense is trying to claim that Jodi committed the killing in self defense. They have to prove that it was self-defense and that Jodi had a reasonable fear of losing her life in the moments before she started the attack.

So her not remembering (how convenient) and this dude explaining why a brain may not remember something, doesn't do a thing to address the "self defense" claim. If she doesn't remember then it's just as likely she killed him out of rage. Saying "I don't remember" doesn't positively prove that claim and the burden is on her to prove it.

Her memory after the event is completely irrelevant. The jury has to decide if she killed in self defense or whether it was felony or premeditated. Nothing Samuels testifies to can help the jury answer that question.

OT: If you have not seen the Jeff Gordon Test Drive Pepsi Max Commercial on YouTube, plz do yourself a favor and watch it. We need a good laugh today. 11Million views and counting.

Oh did I misspeak about Mr Samuels and his license, I'm sorry... he just made a custody recommendation without evaluating the mother and bartered services so he could receive dental services for himself.
Then was ordered to "cease and desist from crossing boundaries with clients and entering into relationships which may create conflict of interests with his clients", fined $2,500 and ordered to complete continuing education courses concerning ethics and boundaries in either Arizona or NJ.

I apologize if I misspoke, so sue me (don't). I'm sure Mr. Samuels abides by all ethical and boundary issues with this current criminal defendant.

I don't like JW's smirk, she also gets a lot of her facts wrong and has to apologize for leading with the wrong info. *sigh*

When it is combined with a form of pathology that is not treated, you have a cauldron of evil.

In the interrogations with Det. Flores, as soon as he explained to her that they had pictures from the camera she quietly asks "Can I see them?", She asks again 'out of morbid curiosity', and at some point she mentions having wanted to go to TA's after the memorial (I didn't pay a great deal of attention to that part, I think by then I was already getting numb at her complete and utter lack of remorse over his death).

I apologize for posting so much - however, I am truly baffled!

You bring up an important fact - a fact that seems to get lost with me as I watch this expert witness for the defense:

The Videotaped Police Interrogation!

When Arias is finally shown the picture showing Arias murdering Travis Alexander - Arias very calmly says, "It looks like me." Still, Arias does not display any emotion. Arias remains alert, crafty, and at ease as she segues into her "Ninja Story."

How is it possible for a person with such an extreme brain disorder seek out, and, call the Homicide Detective trying to find Travis Alexander's murderer? How is it possible for a person with such an extreme brain disorder offer the Homicide Detective "leads," and even advise as to how to find Travis Alexander's murderer?

How is it possible with such a fragile state of mind remain calm sitting in an interrogation room, and, being shown the photograph of a bloody Travis Alexander laying lifeless on the floor as his murderer stands strongly over him?

I never met Travis Alexander - however, if I had been shown those pictures by Flores - I would have screamed, and, started crying (this is how I reacted when I saw this picture). Yet, Arias remains very much in control of her emotions - ready, and, willing to create another false version of events.

If we are to believe that Arias suffers from any type of psychological brain trauma - due to this Arias is unable to remember stabbing Travis Alexander almost 30 times, almost cutting off his head, dragging him back into the shower, washing him, cleaning, deleting photos, operating a washer & dryer, collecting her things, operating a vehicle --- What explains her ability to remember washing blood of her hands, and, making it to her new boyfriend's house with no signs of mental/physical trauma/injury? Wouldn't Arias say to her new boyfriend, "something is wrong, very wrong, why am I here, was there blood on my hands, did you hear a knife fall on the floor, how did I get here, I can't take a shower, what is that sound, is there blood on my hands, is the water running, who is screaming at me.....?"

I baffled by Samuels testimony - and, how it is related to Arias murdering Travis Alexander. Then I read your post and remember - the videotaped interrogation showing Arias' reaction to seeing herself murdering Travis Alexander -- this leaves me more baffled as I cannot understand the purpose of this testimony. This testimony seems as relevant to me testifying to what I was doing on June 4, 2008 - and the reason that Arias murdered Travis Alexander is because I woke up at 6am which caused hemispheric magnetic pole shift causing Arias to suffer an electrical brain disruption.

Due to the electrical brain disruption, Arias cannot remember stabbing Travis Alexander 27 times, slicing his throat, dragging his mutilated body back into his shower, cleaning up, deleting photos.

What exactly is Samuels' testimony supposed to prove? I really do not get it.

I apologize for this rant - I am grateful to have a forum to be able to vent. Much thanks to all of you! This board is filled with great and intelligent people - it is kind of you all to share your insight, and, have patience.

Judge Seidlin (former state judge in Florida, handled Anna Nicole Smith), commenting on Juan's aggressiveness on the After Dark HLN show: "He's not on a date with her, he wants her to die by lethal injection!"

Hmmm a see a similarity to Gus and Samuels.

It was fun watching Nurmi bored senseless today through the experts testimony like he's put all of us through.

It sure struck me strange that the psychiatrist was an expert and I never heard the word "sociopath" mentioned. Perhaps he hasn't gotten to that chapter of his book yet.

Arizona Rules of Evidence

Rule 401. Definition of Relevant Evidence
"Relevant evidence" means evidence having any tendency to make the existence of
any fact that is of consequence to the determination of the action more probable
or less probable than it would be without the evidence.

Rule 402. Relevant Evidence Generally Admissible; Irrelevant Evidence Inadmissible
All relevant evidence is admissible, except as otherwise provided by the
Constitution of the United States, by the Constitution of Arizona or by applicable
statutes or rules. Evidence which is not relevant is not admissible.

Rule 403. Exclusion of Relevant Evidence on Grounds of Prejudice, Confusion, or Waste of Time
Although relevant, evidence may be excluded if its probative value is
substantially outweighed by the danger of unfair prejudice, confusion of the
issues, or misleading the jury, or by considerations of undue delay, waste of
time, or needless presentation of cumulative evidence.

Are these in the A.R.S.? I can't find them. Yet. :)

HLN is now talking about Samuels being fined in NJ. He bartered his services for dental services. Samuels was fined and JC said the state will bring this in and find any other thing on him. JC thinks the judge will let the state use it.

I can't imagine why the judge wouldn't let them use it. It goes directly to the credibility of the expert. The credibility of the expert is the whole reason they're used as experts. I'm amazed they used this guy as an expert at all with this unethical dirt hanging over him. They'd be far better off with NO expert than one with something like that discrediting them.

My sense at the time was that she was just holding the camera in front of her face while driving, narcissistically taking photos of herself, while on the way to murder Travis. I took it to mean she agreed that she photographed her neck because her neck was in the shot. But I could be wrong.

Respectfully snipped for space.

I agree. I think the objection was sustained because it was "outside the scope of the jury questions" but I definitely think we'll be seeing that picture later!!

I would LOVE it if it showed her hair blond on June 3rd or something equally as huge. I definitely think there's something in that picture other than her neck. :great:

Exactly. He testifies all the time in Maricopa County. They know who he is. No surprises.

O.k. Here goes...
My family and I are survivors...we are testaments to the strength that " victims of crime" try to attain...our beautiful daughter was murdered at just 20 years of age....she was sexually assaulted and stabbed more than forty times during a sexually motivated killing involving a 39 year old predator and his 20 year old wife (at the time of beautiful Jenn's murder this couple had a 9 month old daughter and were expecting another child in three month's time)
After the murder my husband and I were both diagnosed with PTSD....
I don't think that I could ever adequately describe the raw and frightening emotions and affects of PTSD....
But I do know this..and feel it to the core of my being...
Jodi Arias does not suffer from PTSD...
She is a true sociopath who does not comprehend " traumatic stress" in any shape or form....post, pre...or ever.....

I just want to say how proud I am of all of you. I've been here since the dinosaur ages and never have I seen such a following and cry for justice since Caylee.

You all are amazing.

What are we all going to do when this trial is over :panic:. Well said Hopeful One, I am going to miss each and every person here when this is over. It's going to be a painful withdrawal. :(
