I was torn...I saw it as more manipulation, because I thought she was the one who wanted to represent herself. If she was truly upset, then that humanizes her in a way that makes me want to punch her in the nose (before she gets the needle) instead of directly pulling the lever for old sparky myself.

I almost want to say it may have made her grasp what a pariah she is but I'm not sure she is able to think in those terms.

Just had to let you all know that you are an incredible group ! Your passion rises to the level of Mr. Martinez. You might not realize it, but you all do, indeed make a difference, each in your own special way.
Wow, just WoW.

:greetings:

I don't know that I would email re: the mitigation specialist. While I am tired of looking at her lady lumps in court everyday...she works for the PD's office and mitigation specialists are required for DP cases. I am inclined to think that we can't blame her for drawing the short straw on this one. She could be just as nauseated as we are.

That Ms. Stodola works for the public defender's office-and thus has her salary paid for by the taxpayers of Arizona-doesn't excuse her. In fact, its all the more reason for her to act and dress professionally

I would have hoped that appearing in a courtroom for a death penalty case would have been enough motivation for her to act professionally. I guess not. Perhaps she can find some inspiration from observing the impeccably dignified behavior of Travis' brothers and sisters, who endured weeks of listening to the sociopath who murdered their brother lie about him and everything else on the stand.

Regarding Dr. Samuels, and those who feel sorry for him and his career. Anyone who takes an oath on stand to tell the truth but makes his living as a liar SHOULD be crushed and put out of business. Let him sell used cars. I don't care.

For those that feel sorry for Samuels
:slap: sorry I had to do it, can't let anyone have sympathy for that guy.

:therethere: All better, the stinging is gone.

:blowkiss: Glad you come out of that sympathy fog. ;)

What did the 18 page letter to Travis' siblings say?

Bumping.....Hope someone answers this....I missed it altogether????? She wrote to Travis' siblings??? that's what I get for coming into the trial so late.

Okay, so I am watching more on my tv that I missed yesterday and holy crap she is doing it again later in the day!

1:38 in this video - this time, an orange folder!
Jodi Arias Trial - Day 32 - Part 2 - YouTube

After was I able to calm down with the disgrace of a colleague, Samuel can not give that PTSD Inventory Test a second time because JM would have both results. It would be invalid because Jodi would know the questions from the first time she took it and can manipulate her answer to fit the "third story - self-defense".

At the time, Samuel knew he need to redo the test but didn't because it would "really" be invalid having two entirely different results. So he just let it go. Samuel underestimated JM busting him on it esp. showing God, the jury and entire Internet community (world) her lying on it.

JMHO and professional MOO

Just watched yesterday's Juan v. RS video. Nurmi looks bemused most of the time to me. I bet he's looking forward to Jodi reaping what she's sown.

Ha! I thought the same thing while watching. It was a little smile, "bemused" as you said...it was almost in awe, or admiration....or like taking tips from JM's cross??

Jodi showed the most emotion, mouthing "No" and shaking her head, when JM asked Samuels about her claim re Travis "climaxing" as he "cut the rope". What rope? The one/s she claimed were tied around her hands and ankles? I wonder what it was about that exchange that riled her, and how it connected to her telling RS she was straddling Travis as he took a pic? I didn't understand exactly what JM was getting at there as he showed RS a pic of her "vaginal area and backside".

I keep seeing all of these comments about how inept this judge is and how she's not handling this death penalty case very well, and I just don't see it.

I think a lot of people commenting on this don't completely understand exactly what a judge can and can't do, and what might give rise to a point of appeal.

There are a couple of decisions of hers that I take issue with, but nothing major that in any way prejudiced the prosecution.

So, court starts late every day? 15 minutes on average, and it's often not because the judge is not ready -- and it's not harming anything. The courts are way overburdened and much of this cannot be avoided, especially in a county like Maricopa that has a limited budget.

What exactly does anyone think she has done wrong that is prejudicial to one side or the other?

Well, starting with the ability to Overrule or Sustain on her own, using her own bias and her own good sense is a good launching point! These side-bar gatherings is a huge sign of her inability to make her own decisions.

Also, allowing the court to run late every single day (the mere four days [16 hours on average week] they hold court) not only becomes cost-effective but it then becomes psychologically frustrating after 2 months. It turns the jury into prisoners! The rate this is going, it won't end before June. Is that fair?

These jurors are normal people and regardless of their admonition and guidelines, they are going to react normally. So whether they pass a television set that's on, read a magazine cover on the checkout line or being asked questions from family/friends, their purity can only last so long. And the longer this Judge allows this case to drag on, the greater the possibility of a mistrial.

I almost want to say it may have made her grasp what a pariah she is but I'm not sure she is able to think in those terms.

I think it's interesting that, except for her thing with Darryl B, she never really hung around anybody that long. A year, eighteen months, and she's off to a new guy, a new location,a new job, new "friends." She always ducks out when the consequences come due. I bet she has no idea how people really think about her. Didn't she express some surprise that Travis' friends all thought she was a stalker?

On his birthday. July 28th. The same time, iirc, she sent irises to Travis' grandmother. Irises because apparently, according to Jodi, Travis liked the name for a future daughter.

She told Alexander's friends and family the same stories after her arrest, even sending 20 white irises to the victim's grandmother, along with an 18-page letter to his family, expressing sympathy for their loss.

I was thinking about Nurmi & Wilmott yesterday.

I think the Public Defender's Office has a pretty adversarial relationship with prosecutors, which they should. If our justice system is going to work at all, everybody needs to do their part. I would certainly like to think they would do whatever was necessary to defend me. But they're behavior towards JM is way over the top. He doesn't treat them like that, as far as I can see.

Since Nurmi's opened his own practice for defendants with sex-related charges, I'm assuming he has some expertise from his work at the PD office. I bet he's seen the anger and disgust on people's faces when they see the charges and hear the testimony. So he figures they're sure to hate Travis when Jodi spouts all this BS and will feel sorry for her. Only, it's not working.

That's the big problem with JA's lawyers to me. They can't change their strategy when it doesn't work. They're so disorganized they don't realize how disorganized their own witnesses are. They really should be ashamed of what a poor job they're doing.

I just think his task is impossible and he knows it. His client can't really even participate in her own defense because she lies to him, he can't really even formulate a defensive strategy because he doesn't know what land mines await in whichever direction she points him. As for the quack job he put on the stand yesterday, he probably went through many doctors. Who knows how many he sent to that jail only to have them come out and say, "sorry, can't help ya."

Hey all - I was gone all day yesterday at the doctors but recorded the trial and while watching it last night about to fall asleep something caught my eye - and my guess is you guys caught it too, but just in case I found it on youtube.

WTH is she sneaking in the yellow folder??????
Watch 27:37ish- it appears she puts something in or under the folder while looking dead on at the witness (so an ultimate deception)
sneekyjodi.jpg

Then at 27:42 it appears to me she takes the folder off the table and places it under herself!

IS SHE SNEAKING SOMETHING OUT OF THE COURTROOM? PAPERCLIPS or other contraband????? WTH is she doing????????
Thoughts? If already mentioned, please excuse the re-posting!

Earlier times of interest too:
21:35 possibly slipping something in the folder
22:16 moves yellow folder over

WOW, ANJ, I think you are correct about the yellow folder......she did put it under her.....what is she up to???

All typical behaviors of a sociopath.

Yeah, it's probably something in the nature of being a psychopath that she would lack the ability to imagine herself through the eyes of others.

Just watched the handstand video in the interrogation room.

Anyone else catch her digging through the trash can when no one is looking???

Man, that chick is ADDICTED to snooping!!! She just cannot help herself. I found that very bizarre behavior.

I think she was looking for some ABC gum. She also looked under the table-that explains the handstand! :floorlaugh:

I'm sure this has just been appalling to all the good therapists/psychologists out there. What a disgrace to his profession!

This girl plays Angela on the tv show "Bones" IMO spitting image of the beast.

Sorry if this has been posted. Have you all seen this? !!

LOS ANGELES – It’s a story Hollywood couldn’t wait to get its hands on, full of sex, lies, murder.

And headstands.

Last week a casting call hit the web for a Lifetime television movie entitled “Dirty Little Secret: The Jodi Arias Story.” Produced by City Entertainment and Peace Out Productions, the filming has a tentative start date of April 13 with Los Angles listed as the filming location. Veteran casting agent Fern Champion, known for filling the faces on “Police Academy,” “Mask,” “Naked Gun” and ‘90210,” has been listed as heading up the casting process.

So far, the Arias flick is seeking just the two leads.

For Arias, they’re after a Caucasian woman in her late 20s, one who is “coquettish, head-turning, with a palpable sexy allure and well aware of the affect she has on men.”

“Jodi is a single-minded, head-strong, quick-tempered young woman. She is hell-bent on emotionally suffocating and controlling Travis Alexander, a handsome young Mormon and motivational speaker who soon falls prey,” the casting notice reads, adding that the Arias character is “jealous in the extreme” and is “driven to violence when she realizes that Travis will never fully commit to her.”

Alexander on the other hand is dubbed as “good looking with a winning personality and a warm sense of humor,” although he is “emotionally undone by the sexually forward Jodi” and “feels drawn to her for her sexual favors, but shamed by his weakness and neediness.”

The opening scene gets right down to business with an image of a naked Jodi Arias.

“We’re looking at a beautiful nude woman, late 20s, braided chestnut hair, stretched across a disheveled bed. She poses like a centerfold,” reads the script obtained by FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “Jodi straddles a chair, looking back at us over her shoulder... Jodi splays back on the bed, knees bent, chest up. We gaze up her naked body as she looks down at us with smoldering eyes... Jodi on her knees, her arms embracing her breasts, swelling her cleavage...”

The script goes on to read like soft-core *advertiser censored*, from Arias’s striptease to described action of her on her knees yet out of frame, donning “skimpy black leather corsets” and French maid costumes, and reciting lines such as: “Travis, I’m your dirty, horny little school girl.”

Shakespeare it is not.

In one scene, the leading lady struts about in panties that have “Travis’s” written across the rear.

The screenplay is interwoven with flashes of law enforcement entering Alexander’s apartment, his deceased body bleeding out as officials search for clues, as well as the continuing investigation process, complete with close-ups of autopsy photographs.

Using its creative license, Hollywood determines that Arias – who is still on trial for murder and claiming that her dead ex-boyfriend attacked her and she acted in self-defense – was involved in a "brutal," cold-blooded killing.

“Jodi comes at him, a fevered animal, stabbing and slashing, again and again and again... Each time the blade connects, blood SPRAYS her face, her clothes, the walls,” reads the climatic death scene. “But she keeps stabbing. Brutal... Unforgiving...Travis reaches the end of the hall... Goes to his hands and knees, no more fight left in him.”

Moments earlier, in the script, Arias had been snapping photographs of him happily flexing his muscles in the shower.

Then there is the interrogation, the trial, and a cameo from Travis’s ghost – but a blank when it comes to the ending.

“ON (DATE TBD), JODI ARIAS WAS (VERDICT TBD)” the script reads, ready to be filled in.

The closing action involves her giving the camera “a little smile.”

A source connected to Lifetime confirmed that while pre-production and casting process are in full-swing, no air date has been set.
