I'm on the side of scissors to cut rope that you'd use in the bedroom, HOWEVER, you make a fair point about men and pocket knives. I know guys who carry them too, and maybe some of them would use it for this purpose. Agree that it could be a regional thing or whether you hunt or favor certain outdoor activities. Scissors just seem faster, easier and safer to me, but I'm a woman and a knife in the bedroom wouldn't turn me on. Jodi claimed that Travis cut the "nooses" off her wrists with the knife she later used to butcher him. I don't believe she was ever tied up that night, but cutting rope off her wrists with that same knife would have been risky.

Yeah, Jodi was so fearful of Travis that she drove across state lines to let him tie her up and use big knives around her. :nyah:

IMO, there was never a rope or tying to the bed scene. However, I do carry a folding knife in my purse. I might also consider cutting rope with a knife rather than a scissors, but knives in the bedroom would make me nervous too. Oh, may I assure you, I don't slash tires, but use the knife to open potato chip bags.

Dr. Horn reappearance is a no brainer - lots to rebut following JA's testimony, especially re what TA supposedly did after the gunshot.

Suzie Dittman is a fraud investigator at J P. Morgan Chase. What could she rebut in the defense case? ALV/JA's claim that Travis was borrowing money from a lot of people, including JA? Jodi's claim that he was very upset in the spring about possibly losing his house? Dittman specializes in retail fraud. Could it have to do with JA stealing from her employer? Bogus PPL filings? If proof existed that Jodi had stolen from TA's bank accounts wouldn't that have come in during the prosecution case in chief rather than in rebuttal?

I bet JA used TA's social security number to get credit cards without him knowing...Haven't we heard that JA had horrible credit? She probably couldn't get any credit cards so she used TA's ssn...

Assuming it's not the same register, right? The charge would still be there on the credit card slip. That's why I asked if they could go through the voids. If a void and a charge equals out the drawer, then there's the money, right?

Like I stated before, I've had this happen when I've returned to small businesses the same day with a return or maybe they charged me for two things and I only got one of the thing. Like two packs of gum, but I only got one. Then they'd give me the money back for one of the packs but 2 packs still stay on my credit card. I don't know how it works; I just know it's happened.

I dont think purchase and return were on the same day according to ja. Thank goodness walmart keeps such great records.

Where was the mitigation specialist today? I wasn't able to see 100% of today but never saw her.

Maybe the're hoping there's at least one juror prudish enough about it.

Really, it's just that they're desperate and have nothing else.

From what we have seen thus far, this group of jurors are paying close attention to all the circus-like antics. They are insightful, and are apparently detail oriented. I hope I am right. I really do.

I missed that. Do you remember at what point in the trial it was mentioned?

It was at the end of ja's testimony, when the jurors ask questions.

it was one of the jurors questions.

ja looked puzzled when the Judge ask her the question

:eek:fftobed:

Thanks sleuthers for wonderful posting!

Remember: Every day that passes, we are day one closer to Justice for Travis. ;)

Catholicism, Judaism, Protestantism all encourage to not have sex until after marriage.

Why is there is much focus from this defense on having sex before marriage?

It seems strange to me - again, especially since Jewish beliefs, Catholic beliefs, and Protestant Church beliefs all state: DO NOT HAVE SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE.

This defense is behaving as though The Church of Jesus christ of Latter day Saints Mormons is the only church with the ideology to not have sex before marriage.

Travis Alexander, I feel, was a lost soul on Earth - he did not have the protection, love, and grounding that mothers and fathers provide. I'm sure that if Travis Alexander had a mother and father that they would have encouraged him to marry Deanna Reid - as it is clear that Deanna Reid would make an excellent wife, mother, and life partner.

I feel so bad for Travis Alexander - and now Deanna Reid. Again - why is this defense concentrating on "sex before marriage?" This is not an unusual or odd teaching of almost all religions.

What religion affiliation does this defense have to behave as though "breaking" not having sex before marriage as such a novel / scandalous event?

I agree, Thurston, it is ridiculous, which goes along with everything about this DT, imo.

I dont think purchase and return were on the same day according to ja

Juan questioned her about the timing of purchase and return. JA stated on the cross that she purchased the gas can at Walmart, went to a Starbucks (in the same parking lot), then returned the gas can back to the same Walmart, then went to the salon. Same day.

I bet JA used TA's social security number to get credit cards without him knowing...Haven't we heard that JA had horrible credit? She probably couldn't get any credit cards so she used TA's ssn...
Well - we know it's something good, and something relevant, or Juan wouldn't have wanted her on the case. I'm just choosing to be happy about it - ecstatic, really.

It didn't happen.

We have a liar who bought a gas can she didn't return that day, even though she lied and said she did. Can't be that hard for people to understand.

So why are people trying to fabricate a special case where every item ever returned to WMT store #2458 on June 3, 2008 can be accounted for, but somehow JA was able to buy a can (we have the record) and then go completely off the grid to return it, fooling everyone in the store, and especially the idiot who gave her the money without getting the can in return?

Trust me, that associate would have been coached and possibly given a "Decision Day".

Don't feel too badly for him, though.

Because it didn't happen.

People are thinking of all possibilities because there is a jury who is thinking of all possibilities, such that they came up with a "dummy Sku." If someone on the jury can come up with that, then that is why I said I wished they'd explored the voids avenue--or not even have mentioned the word "void."

If someone can come up with a "dummy sku" excuse on the jury, they can certainly come up with a "void" excuse. All I was doing was trying to see if there was any other loophole out of it. I knew it "didn't happen" before the Walmart lady testified.

Where was the mitigation specialist today? I wasn't able to see 100% of today but never saw her.

She was prolly making a reservation for a spa treatment for her and Jodi for July. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Snarky? guilty I am.

I agree, Thurston, it is ridiculous, which goes along with everything about this DT, imo.

As ridiculous as Nurmi showing off his matching tie and socks whenever possible. (I'm betting he irons those socks :floorlaugh: )

She did say she loaned him $699 right before the child *advertiser censored* incident story.

I suspect the bank records are going to show that Travis was the one lending Jodi money. Which is probably why he was so ticked when she kept overdrawing her account.

Yeah, I know... I did it shortly after I got the pc..this was way back in 1999...I just renamed and reregistered

You don't even have to re-register to change the name of a computer. I think the registration is based on possibly the serial number, which may be sent via the registration process, or possibly as part of an algorithm based on the ids and configurations of some of the major components.

I know that Microsoft used to do it that way (they may still) as far as re-installing and reregistering Windows 98-XP. I used to tinker with my desktops a LOT and sometimes swapped parts between the two of them and/or replaced parts that went bad or that I upgraded or added. A MAJOR change would be to replace the motherboard and/or CPU. If 3 or more of the components changed, MS would KNOW that the machine was fundamentally different and consider it to be a "new" machine. It was a real PITA sometimes to get it reregistered (via India and ridiculously long codes to enter). Of course, I was using versions of Windows that I bought separately from the computers; the average person uses whatever OS came with their computer and doesn't have to deal with entering the Windows license key (but they DO have one, usually written on a sticker on the bottom of laptops). I highly recommend writing that down, BTW, because it can rub off over time and you never know when someone may ask you for it as part of a repair process.
