I also thought it odd that Oscar said he was screaming out most of the time whilst searching for Reeva, putting on his prosthetic legs, getting the cricket bat to break down the door. But when he actually confirmed his worst fears, that it was indeed Reeva, he was just sad.

Of course it's odd because it's a load of cr@p.

There has been so much time wasted in this trial. I suppose Roux is not prepeared because he didn't think Nel would finish so soon this morning although Nel had stated he would finish today.

Maybe I am too impatient because I am accustomed to seeing a trial move much more continuously than this one. Too many adjournments here!!

But much less objections and side bars!

My sister would, and I'd be disinclined to have one there.

Both DH and DS like to read in the toilet. I bought a nice little basket though to place on the counter. However, it looks like OPs only option was to have a magazine rack because there were no shelves or counter space.

I know loads of folks who have magazine racks -- and I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

I really wanted Nel to ask about the bedroom door. I am disappointed about that!

As for why he went upstairs when Stipp was there, no doubt he would have said it was to get Reeva's handbag for the paramedic. There is an inconsistency in that story because the paramedic had not arrived yet, according to Stipp. So yea, he should have asked about this too.

They didnt ask him about the little trip upstairs simply because whatever excuse he has, they cant rebutt it, as no-one else had been up there, so it was pointless asking. He undoubtedly went up there to do something but he was never going to admit that, so pointless asking him about it IMO.

Jeebus.....forgot that o e....what did he do up there should have been asked.

Rethinking...why bother....it will all be lies and drivel .

I'm thinking the same .. I think they have enough stuff on him now .. and for all we know, the judge may even have things like confirmation/non-confirmation of what OP says of his initial call to NetCare by way of a recording, things like that, which Nel may have decided not to bring up because he doesn't want OP to have to confess/change his plea to guilty midway through the trial .. I think that Nel wants to take the trial as far as it can, and have the chance to bring in all possible witnesses because I think they want to try and establish what did actually happen that evening, and not just have OP say 'ok, knowingly shot Reeva' because that wouldn't throw any light on the events leading up to her being killed, just that he knowingly did it and will then clam up about the motive/how he went about killing her (how far in advance he had planned her killing .. i.e. whether it was spur of the moment, or planned in advance by even up to half an hour, or a day or more in advance) .. and I think that they are actually trying to establish all that as well, so they don't want him to confess just yet and that is the reason why they've not brought in some of the things which would actually nail it.

My guess on the time of this wait is DT's witness not there yet. Thinking Nel will have OP on the stand longer?

Oscar gave them A LOT to tackle. I'm guessing they've done about 3 tequila shots by now.

Yes I am shocked he didn't ask about him going upstairs as well .
It was before the paramedics arrived . When the paramedics came he went upstairs for a second time with Stander.

Good point, thanks!

If the defense does not call the Stander clan, I will be ripping PO'd. I really, really want to hear from Justin Devaris too but I highly doubt that is going to happen.

Yep, it would suggest from Nel's opening this morning that there has been some serious pressure regarding time.
I'm sure in retrospect he would have rather spent less time on the fan/blue light bedroom scenario, as it all seemed a bit hurried today.

Respectfully, I have to disagree. I thought Nel was fantastic. Nel has proven a mountain of lies from Oscar in every facet of his story that night. The Judge has not missed any of it, I assure you.

Don't forget that Nel gets to cross every one of the remaining defense witnesses so whomever else they call, Nel gets to pick away at their evidence too.

No matter how strong of a case, I always feel a little disappointed when each side comes to a close. In most trials, we all have about 100 more questions that we wanted asked. But the reality is that we're never going to know every detail of that night.

Totally agree with you, lisa!

But much less objections and side bars!

Well, that is certainly true, lol! The judge in the Arias trial did not allow 'speaking objections' so it was always running up to the bench while we all wanted to know what was said!

:moo:

Sky talking about a possible plea of culpable homicide. If Nel were not to accept this and did not prove murder OP would be freed with no sentence for the murder. This is not fact just a suggestion as to what could be happening during the break.

As for Nel requesting that the court adjourn for 2 weeks so as not to interrupt vacation plans. (which I am sure is main reason)

I am glad the Judge did not decide on the spot. I think its past time she put a stop to this nonsense and tell lawyers on both sides to get on and finish. No more days off until they are done.

OP's magazine rack debacle was last critical piece Nel put in place.

It showed that EVERY step from the time he claims he woke up, to the time he dragged Reeva out of the bathroom, was a reconstructed fantasy. The magazine rack was in the pool of blood. The blood was on the wall exactly where OP said he saw the magazine rack.

His entire version(s) has been proven, from beginning to end, to be false.

Of course it's odd because it's a load of cr@p.

Yes, at the very moment when his worst fears were realised his only reaction was sadness....continuity error there.....if he was true to form he should have stepped up a gear and moved from SCREAMING to WAILING and LAMENTING.:tantrum:

Sky is reporting that during the break OP left the courtroom, but was called back into the courtroom by a member of his defense team. Since then they have been involved in an intense discussion. He is still on the stand, I thought this wasn't allowed

Op's cross examination by the state is over, he is now free to seek legal advice from his attorneys.
