Law enforcement in Arkansas and U.S. Marshals have Zander McCready in their custody and say that he is safe, according to our sources.

Officials say that his mother, Mindy McCready, was hiding in a closet with him when law enforcement entered the home in Heber Spings, Arkansas.

Thank y'all so much for the recap of the video. One thing struck me as REALLY odd.
Mindy's mother and the man who tried to kill her are really close????
That speaks volumes to me.
I don't know that I could EVER be close with a man who beat the carp out my daughter.

No wonder Mindy feels like the world is against her.

It is interesting but her son wasn't taken due to a mere DUI or probation violation. I'm not sure why she is minimizing McCready's problems. McCready suffered numerous suicide attempts including after her son was born, exposes herself to physically abusive relationships and has had an on-going drug problem that does not yet seem remedied (won't take drug tests).

However, I agree that if everything about the grandmother is true, Zander should not be with her. Nor with the father who tried to kill McCready. I'm not sure what Florida is thinking here.

We're talking about a State that aquitted Casey Anthony. :banghead: I don't think a lot of Florida thinks much at all... and I am a Floridian.
 
The state of Florida didn't acquit Casey Anthony, the jury did.

If I had to guess, MOST of Florida wanted her to fry.

Zander has been in foster care in Arkansas since Friday night when he was taken from McCready. At Monday’s hearing, a judge will confer with Florida Department of Children and Families officials about sending the boy back to the Cape Coral, Fla., where McCready's mother lives.

Mindy's only problem is that she's co-dependent and addicted to loooove. At least that's what she and Dr. Drew came up with. Never mind the withdrawal seizures and brain damage, the drug fraud, the violence...

She's a hot mess who has no business breeding, in my rarely humble opinion. I'm sure we'll continue to hear of her exploits. She appears to relish the attention. Any attention.
 
I hope they are both OKAY-she needs a lot of help,it seems she went downhill after her split with Dean..I listen her her Guys Do It All The Time..almost everyday-Its a shame how things turned out for her.

That was the entire plan here... she had been told that if she took him out of the state... they would have to hold a hearing to bring him back.

This was what she was hoping would happen... that it would give her the advantage she needed in the custody battle.

Ultimately it would have been better to keep him for longer before being found, but this was apparently good enough.
 
I watched snippits from an interview she is doing for I believe 20/20 and this woman is not in any way worried about her child's well being. She was smiling and calm when saying how Zander was screaming for them not to take him away from his mommy. Any mother seeing her child actually go through that would be devastated... not calm and smiling.

She has it out for her mother, imo. For reasons that I choose not to believe coming from a drug addicts mouth. Someone who refuses to take a drug test in order to legally regain custody of her child she is so worried about.

And how in the world can she be happy now that poor Zander is in a foster home? I know a lot of foster parents are great, but not all of them are! Poor little kid!
