NASHVILLE, TN (NBC) -
Cleburne County Sheriff's deputies in Arkansas confirm they have found the body of country singer Mindy McCready inside her Heber Springs home.

Sheriff Marty Moss tells our sister station KARK, they were called to her house on Fox Chase Drive around three Sunday afternoon. Sheriff Moss says it appears McCready died from a single gun shot wound.

Her body has been sent to the State Crime.

Few other details are being released at this time.

Just a little over a month ago, McCready's boyfriend, David Wilson, died at the age of 34 with no cause of death or details surrounding his passing being revealed, however continues to be under investigation.

After denying any involvement with Wilson's death, McCready's two children, Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9-months-old, were taken from the singer's Heber Springs, Ark., home by authorities. "Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on. She is in a bad state right now, depressed and unhappy. It is not good," a source told E! News when the children were removed.

HOW AWFUL! I feel sorry for her family! I know she was hurting, but how could she be so selfish! She SHOT her dog?! What about her poor little sons?!!! Now they will have to live with this and without their mama for the rest of their innocent lives! Tragic!!

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office released a statement this evening that reads:

"At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated."
