Unless there is video of it I don’t know how they will get that information. I noticed this:

“Goods said she was so desperate to get out that she bit a man on the shoulder to get him to move”

Police confirm Astroworld security guard was likely injected with drugs when stabbed in neck with needle

I wonder if some of these deaths are from the injection.

There is the video of a woman on a platform warning them of a trampling and possible drug overdose.

I'm in northern Washington state, up by British Columbia, and students at my university just learned that one of the university's students died in the Astroworld incident. :( He was only 21. It's so awful.

Travis Scott's behavior and handling of this has been horrible.

We were in Houston at the event - our teenage sons attended and we picked the younger one up and 7pm and the older one at 11pm.
If I can be of any help in answering any questions I am available.

I’m relieved that your kids made it home safely! I wonder if your older son mentioned seeing or hearing any of the commotion during TS’s set?

Thank you for offering.

Have they been to any other previous TS concerts? Did your younger one decide to leave early for any reason that was relative to the atmosphere? You don’t have to elaborate.

Kylie reminding me of Hilary Baldwin with this statement. Not a good look.

And this.

“In three posts that the 26-year-old model shared to her Instagram Story on Saturday, Baldwin said that the tragedy was 'not Travis Scott's fault' but added, 'he incites the rage.'

The Grudge Match star later deleted the posts, explaining, 'people on the internet are so scary and so misinformed”

Thank you. There was simply not enough security. The crowd was far too large (50k-100k) for the amount of combined police/private security (700-1300).
Our older son as well as another man we spoke to the next day didn’t see any problems not even the ambulance - the crowd was huge. The learned of problems only once they were home.

This was their first concert, they are 15 and 17 and the older one has loved TS music since he was 12.

We felt the 15 year old wasn’t old enough to be there at night, it wouldn’t be safe and his English isn’t really strong enough yet to be on his own in that type of environment. So we set a time limit of 3pm-7pm - I wanted him back with us before dark (last light was 7pm). Bad things can happen during the day but more often at night.

The Houston police were WONDERFUL to us when we went to pick him up around 7pm - he couldn’t find us so he went to ask them for help - they called my cell and told me exactly where to come pick him up and escorted him to me -
One of the officers said it was good he was leaving early because it was going to get crazy.
This was at 7pm and as I understand it the deaths happened after 9pm.

Like Ireland, our kids really have TS on a pedestal and don’t want any blame to be placed on him. I think that could be why a lot of attendees are afraid to speak out about what they saw, this (misplaced in my opinion) hero worship.
The median age was probably 18, I didn’t see anyone older than that except parents who went to pick their kids up, and my younger son confirmed it was all kids.

The Who concert disaster - Wikipedia

Interesting. They banned general admission/festival seating in Cincinnati for 30ish years after this.
I was a teen in Ohio and very frequently attended concerts at the time of this tragedy. “Festival seating” was immediately banned, everyone had to have a ticket with seat number.

The Wikipedia article says the ban ended in the early 2000s, which seems unfortunate.
Yeah, in 2004 it was overturned when Cincinnati concert venues were having difficulty booking some concerts. Some performers were insisting on general admission (or “Festival Seating” as it was known in Ohio) and Cincinnati ended the ban due to pressure from concert venues.

Last concert I attended was general admission, paul mccartney wings 1976.
I was literally lifted as the crowd rushed the doors to get in, ended up behind the stage and left 30 minutes later.
Fun part was getting off the parking lot, it was a maze.

I have been in a dangerous situation in a crowd where I had to be helped out by some good folks. It is truly terrifying experience. It’s one of those things where you are among so many people who might see you are in distress and help yet it feels like hardly someone is noticing what’s going on with you unless they stand few meters away . Like you are fighting for live and most people just have a blast in the same time .I’m happy that the lawsuits follow because it shouldn’t have happened in a first place and shame on the artist who didn’t stop and try to talk to the public. Artists have a lot of influence on people and a few words to the crowd trying to calm them down or move away or let ambulances pass by could have saved some lives. I hope it’s going to be a lesson for the future and nothing like this happens again.

A lot of issues exposed here:

Poor maintenance of the gates and crowd control

No seating, only stand-up, so that there is no way to effectively provide a safe environment, just allow participants to pack in as close as they can stand, no way to adhere to any safety regulations.

The artist has reported issues and prior citations for inciting the crowds to rush the stage and creates an atmosphere where crowds are uncontrollable.

Minors are allowed into an event where there is (likely) drug and alcohol use.

I think LE is not going to be able to do too much to this very influential performer.

But the insurance company that insures these events sure can. They can stipulate conditions that will completely stop this uncontrolled and irresponsible behaviour to occur.

As the apparent owner/promoter of these events, he can be shut down and likely held responsible for the deaths.

I'd like to address only one of your statements. "No seating, only stand-up.... etc" In my teenage years, I went to warped tour. There was no seating, it was only stand up. This didn't happen there. Warped Tour was around for MANY years without something like this happening. I don't think this can be blamed. I think there are other factors, such as those you've mentioned.

1978:
I was 17 and took my 16 yo brother and his friend to see Aerosmith at the Spectrum in Philly. It was ga seating on the floor.
Before the doors opened the crowd grew unruly and broke through the glass doors, Bum rushed the security and we got squeezed through like cattle through a chute. (I’m sure I still have my whole ticket untouched somewhere.)

anyway we proceeded to the floor and made our way up front in no time to be pretty close to the front of the stage while Golden Earring belted out “ radar love”.

Aerosmith took the stage and the crowd kept surging forward. Body to body I was soaked in sweat. People would fall like dominoes and were then used as a “step up” to get a better view.
They did start to body surf people whose raised they’re hands to get out. They got surfed to the stage and lifted out onto the stage and exited stage right.

a few times I got scared but then backed out when asked if I wanted out..

I had never heard of anyone dying at a concert so I figured I’d suck it up and enjoy (?) ha…..I mean I was really getting squeezed and drenched with sweat and couldn’t handle it anymore so I let the people around me know I was ready to bale……got lifted up, surfed..pulled up on stage…..boom…off to the side.

4 songs in and someone hit the microphone of Steven Tyler with a beer bottle. The band left the stage after that vowing to never come back to Philly…..

a few months later The Who concert tragedy happened and I realized how it could have happened that night in Philly.
