There is so much about this situation that does not add up to me. If I lived in Dallas, I would be out marching, in a peaceful protest.

I really like how folks were demonstrating, peacefully, and the police shot pepper bullets at the crowd. So much for freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly.

The longer Dallas PD supports this killer, the more confusing the situation is to me. At this point, I completely agree with Botham's family, that they need to be held accountable. Why haven't they stated that they do not support her actions? That she was off duty? Blue wall of silence.

Now that one of their own is being investigated, more of their true colors are shining through. There are good and bad people in every occupation.

The trial is happening in Chicago this week for the officer charged with murder after shooting a teenager with no reason, and Chicago PD said it was justified clear up until the video was released showing that was nothing but a LIE.

In times of crisis and fear people revert to their training. If her first response after all her police protocol training is shoot to kill immediately... it proves we need to address what alot of americans have been saying and kneeling for.... LE needs more accountability and training overhaul

CBS Dallas spoke to several criminal defense lawyers, who all said they were surprised they didn't see words like "reckless" or "intentional," which they said would normally be found in documents in manslaughter cases.

"It doesn't read anything beyond negligence of that they simply do not specify how she is reckless which is the required mental state for manslaughter," said George Milner, a criminal defense attorney. "It reads much more like an accidental killing."

However, Milner and others told CBS Dallas that doesn't mean the district attorney's office doesn't have a good case, since the investigation continues.

Meanwhile, an attorney for Jean's family said two witnesses told them details that contradict Guyger's claims. End Snip.

This is a very vague statement. I have a lot of questions about alleged noise complaint. To whom was this complaint made? If Amber was at work for 12-15 hours, who made the complaint if it was made? Seems like it wasn't her? Was there somebody else in her apartment? Was the complaint made from a different apartment? Why some of the other neighbors say victim was quiet, yet apparently there were numerous noise complaints made if they were?

I think at this point they are just choosing not to say the complaints came from her, specifically.

He was a singer, so he can be quiet and respectful, generally, but also practice singing. I'm sure that's not a quiet activity, and it's likely she could hear him. I mentioned my frustration with a previous neighbor. I would describe her as a quiet person, in general, but her activities were often loud, and it drove me nuts. Of course, I didn't kill her, or even consider it!

Normally, in officer involved shootings, I side with the police. But in this case - If I were at home relaxing (maybe sleeping) and somebody burst through my door with gun drawn and ordered me to the ground, I think I would be inclined to ignore the order too, especially if I knew I had done nothing wrong. It is was dark (as she said it was), he may not have known it was a uniformed officer.

Then if it was from her, she must have posted them from her work.

If she did a 15 hour shift and returned directly home at 10:00 pm, then she started work at 7 am. Allowing for drive time, maybe stopping off after work for a bite to eat..... maybe her work that day really starts at 6 am, or even 5 am. So she has to get up at 5 am or 4 am, for example.

IF SHE was making the noise complaint, she did it from work and I hope the apt company / manager would have the phone # and time that call was made.

I think the 15 hour shift thing is clearly going to be very controversial. She has a highly active, stressful job. I can't imagine doing that for 15 hours. What you must have to do to keep y0urself up and alert in that job...... (if you know what I mean)

Dallas Chief has stated that Dallas Officers are allowed to work up to 16 hours in a 24 hour period.

Both roommates were home at the time, but one roommate was closer to the incident and told Merritt “the voice didn’t sound like an officer command; it sounded like someone who wanted to be let into the apartment,” the attorney said.

2 shots were fired.

According to the Dallas Medical Examiner, Mr Jean was hit by 1 bullet in the chest and that bullet traveled into his abdomen.

Am I nuts or for that to happen, wouldn't she HAVE TO BE ABOVE HIM?!?!?

Botham got a call from the downstairs neighbor. Obviously it is “miss elite”. How did she get his phone number? Did she run a background check on him at her job?

And it is a fact if you, as an ordinary person, did that in someone else's home you would be in jail.,

I don't think a noisy neighbor of one month is motive to kill someone and give up your career. Besides, why did she have to go check the door number when she called 911 if she knew where she was at?

Knowing where you are and knowing the address of the location (or apartment number) can be two different things. As for noise, shooting some one over noise is a bad motive, but still a motive. I think it is also important to look at what is often the underlying motive in noise, parking space, wrong sports apparel, don't look at me, loud music and "people just don't text here" etc. type shootings: Respect / disrespect / honor.

Needless to say, a certain percentage of the US population takes respect / dis respect / honor very seriously. There are several honor based sub cultures in the US and many police have a dose of it. So do many military personnel.

We expect police to be able to filter out honor based reactions. That goes triple for those leading to murder. That expectation, however, is not always met. A retired police officer in Florida killed a man over thrown popcorn (really respect / disrespect).

It seems that the officer's version of events is contradicted by witness statements and perhaps even mechanical impossibility as the door / lock do not seem to function that way. This could support a confrontation over noise / respect / honor that escalated into an impulsive shooting and an impulsive explanation of the "wrong apartment".
