Another important issue is related to drawing unemployment. If you are "Fired", you are able to draw unemployment. I you quit, you are NOT able to draw unemployment! Therefore, some bosses try to make to employee mad enough to quit...them they are not able to draw unemployment compensation from to employer's unemployment insurance.
So my question is...Did SA quit his job or was he fired?
If you are fired for valid reason, you cannot collect unemployment. That is determined by the Texas Employment Commission. Your former employer can dispute your claim and get you disqualified for any number of reasons.
If you quit for a valid reason, i.e., moving too far away to commute to work, you may be able to collect unemployment but your reason for moving has to be valid, in their determination. But if you quit because of some altercation between yourself and another employee, that won't fly with TEC.
Around here, about the only way you're going to collect unemployment is by being laid off a job.
