Wow, that morph is way too close. Let's pray that LE agrees.

Really neat work! Umm, willing to share your email addy with me via PM, ...would love to have a contact that can do these kinda photos for me :)

There is one here on WS, in Anna Waters thread, would love to do this kinda comparison with the little Synanon Girl and Anna, if it's even possible.

Forgive me for jumping in and going off topic, TIA!

Hi Christine
I had one of my students at my school do it. I you PM mw the pics, maybe I can have them do it for you.

Hi MrsG, hi Christine, hi Missie:). Rich emailed authorities with all info within the last couple of days, I think. I called Todd Matthews of the doenetwork and left a voice message to ask if they were working on this case and that he can call me with further questions if needed.

I see some points where the morph does not match. However, I don't know if it is because Vanessa's pic is not head on, the recon of our Kilgore Princess Doe is not fully accurate, I don't know the conditions of the skull and facial bones(were there broken/misplaced bones resulting in an inaccurate recon?), or if it just isn't her. But, still the resemblance is definitely there, and I hope and pray that this is a match, if in fact Vanessa is no longer living.

Is the doe a reconstruction picture? If so, it couldn't possibly perfecty match, right?

Yes, the Kilgore Princess Doe is a recon pic. How it was done has a bearing on how accurate to scale it is, I think. Yet, certain aspects of a well done recon based on accurate measurements of the actual craniofacial characteristics are generally fairly reliable. The (eye) orbits, jaw shape, width, and structure, basic facial shape and width, for example should be the same and match. Things like hair, skin, and eye color are not necessarily accurate. Any soft tissue, such as lips, and any flesh are not always spot on. This is only what I recall from classes taken long ago, and from recall from previous research. I don't know how accurate I am with my thoughts on this.

wow...great morph thingy.

no matter what the outcome, i am proud of myself for finding this one. :blushing: I hope it can bring closure to someone's family.

And if it is indeed her, that forensic sculptor needs to be given a bonus for their excellent work!

Yes, It is YOU dear jodierenee who caught this one! We are proud of you too! I was looking back over the thread and meant to comment you about this but got busy just trying to get some response from LE.

You da bomb, girl!

We make a great group of sleuthers huh?

Here's to all of us making more finds and bringing loved ones home to rest.

:woohoo: Ok, you guys are officially FABULOUS! You work hard, fast and as a team! It's like you are all great friends, though I doubt many of you have even met!

Richandfamous, thank you for sending all that info. to the authorities! It has now also been sent to the lead whose case this actually is, as well as another state-wide investigative agency. They were impressed with the possible match as well! It was also sent to a multi-state (Southern ones) information sharing service for LE, because Kilgore Princess Doe was found relatively close to the border with LA. That way LE will see this case's stats and the facial reconstruction in many states.
But don't worry, credit will go where credit is due!!!!

Way to go,
sloane

So what do the rest of you think about a common name for this one? I'm having a hard time with "Kilgore Princess Doe" even though I'm the one that just wrote it again! Just the word Kilgore sounds awful. Would you like to continue with colors and do something with the purple she was discovered wearing? "Amethyst?" "Amy," for short? "Tuff Babe" (the jeans)? "Lavender Doe?"

open for ideas,
sloane

Hi sloane. Thank you for the info:). Kilgore is for the location because we don't have a name and we work various cases at one time. But, now that you mention it, Kilgore has the sound, "kill" in it which does sound darn awful. I never liked putting the name, "Doe" on an UID, either because it is so impersonal. To me they are all princes and princesses because to someone they will always be just that, I imagine and hope for.

I like Princess Lavender and Princess Amethyst. What about Princess Sunshine for the highlights in her hair?

We are working on coming together as a team with each hand knowing what the other is doing, as it were. Thank you for seeing that.

I know it was for the location...I've always thought some of the names of towns are just quite strange. There is a town near Princess Blue's location called "Chocolate Bayou!!" Just odd.

Well, my vote is for P. Lavender or P. Amethyst :twocents:

If no one else objects, can we call her Princess Lavender or P. Lavender for short?

Unfortunately, as good of a match as "Princess Amethyst" seems to be with Vanessa Schultz, (and that morphed photograph was excellent MrsG!), there is something that doesn't seem quite right to me, too. Vanessa's picture has her head tilted slightly to one side. That's partly why it is not lining up correctly, in which case, it still could be her. BUT. I think it's the mouth area. The dental arches seem off-- Vanessa's top arch seems more rounded (semi-spherical) and P.Amethyst's is quite straight across the first 6, even 8 maxillary teeth. Hers doesn't start curving back until almost the pre-molars.
I know this seems petty and I could be incorrect. I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble. There's always a part of you that wants a match so ppl. can get answers and part of you that doesn't bec. it means someone has to know for sure their loved one is deceased.
What do you guys think?

I agree, which is why I stated something about it. I understand that it could be explained; but, it may or may not be her. I am a skeptic's skeptic and need cold, hard , proof or evidence as solid and reliable as lead brick.

It is a good match in many ways, and I didn't catch the arch as you did. I saw something off with the orbits, actually. But, I didn't know if it was because of the reasons stated in my post above, or a recon artist inaccuracy, or that it is not Vanessa. Time will tell, and I do think it definitely needed to be turned in. The possibility is there for a match. These of course are just my impressions as an amateur:)

Sorry, Lion, I missed this little one-liner reply / request from you, and went on to call her "Princess Amethyst," instead. I like "Princess Lavendar" equally. Let's appoint her that nickname until her real one can be uncovered!
Is that alright with everyone?

No worries sloane:). And, since no one has objected or asked for her to be called by a different name, perhaps we can call her Princess Lavender.

Lion

Princess lavender sounds good!
at the rate we're going, we'll need a list of colors from a paint shop! ;)
