If he was not assaulted (and my personal opinion is he was not) he managed to cause quite an injury to himself.

Bryeon Hunter's mom beat the he** out of herself. I'm not suggesting that's what happened here ..........however.

I find it intresting that there's another older child, but he wasn't with them (but he's not old enough to be left home alone...must be only a 2-3 years older then Maleah) Wonder if the police have interviewed him..
That child is probably with his mother. The one who's posts were screenshot and posted on the KHOU News 11 Facebook page.

Edit: I went back and read again. Actually from the screenshot posts, the child is likely with his father, not his mother.

Sorry for all the posts. This one has really hit home with me. Another couple of problems I’m having with his story, (yes, I know media can get streets messed up). First, let me say I am NOT familiar with Humble, TX. I lived in the western suburbs of Houston, very familiar with HWY 6. I’ve been looking at maps, trying to find HWY 6 in Humble. I have not been successful, but realize streets can change names, or have multiple names in this metro area. Anyway, it’s only a 10 minute drive from Humble, TX to Bush Airport.

Humble is a suburb NE of Houston. Sugar Land is a suburb SW of Houston. The most direct route would be 69, through Houston. 69 becomes 59, otherwise known as the Southwest Freeway. Without traffic (which Houston always has traffic), it is a 45 minute drive. There are numerous, numerous places between these two locations. The police have their work cut out for them. The good news is Houston also has tons of cameras.

There is a lot of misinformation being repeated on this thread. I highly recommend that everyone watch the press conference to get the latest facts from the Houston police.

A couple of things stand out to me:
-I haven’t seen a single report of a sighting of the blue pickup. Darien is the only person who has mentioned it. Hmmm...

-The mother’s silver car is still missing, but it was spotted on camera in Sugar land around 3 PM on Saturday (3 hours before Darien woke up in Sugar land). Hmmm...

The news has been hard on Davis's grandmother, Brenda Bowens, who said she hadn't slept in two days.

"I can't even imagine anybody going through what my family is going through," said Bowens. "It's unbelievable."

Bowens said Maleah's mom, Brittany, was out of town for her father's funeral and had returned to Houston on Friday.

Over the weekend, Brittany's sister posted a message asking for help in finding the missing family. In her post, the sister said that Brittany was supposed to be picked at the airport by Darion, her fiancé, and the kids but they never showed up.

Instead, Bowens ended up picking up her daughter from the airport in the rain as bad weather came into the area.

Bowens could not offer up any conclusions as to what led to Davis' disappearance, but said she wanted consequences for whoever kidnapped her "absolutely adorable" granddaughter.

"If anybody hurt my grandchild or they took my grandchild, I want them to be punished the way they are supposed to be because she was the sweetest little girl," said Bowens. "I miss her terribly."

In the press conference, the investigator said that Darian never made it to the airport, so I think that is a moot point.

He said that Darien and the mother‘s apartment is in southwest Houston, and they have family that live in Sugarland.

An Amber Alert was issued on Sunday morning for Maleah Davis, a Houston girl who underwent brain surgery last month. She was last seen wearing a pink bow in her hair, a light blue zip-up jacket, blue jeans, and sneakers, police said.

Police are asking the public for help in finding the girl, who was last seen on Friday night when, according to what her stepfather Darion Vence, 26, told police, three mystery men beat him up and briefly held him and her 2-year-old brother hostage. He later told police that they dumped him and the toddler on the side of the road and absconded with Maleah.

Sgt. Mark Holbrook of the Houston Police Department Homicide Division said Vence said that he went in and out of consciousness during the ordeal and, at one point, woke up to find the suspects driving him and the two children around in what he described as a blue pickup truck.

Vence told police that he eventually regained full consciousness around 6 p.m. on Saturday, waking up on the side of a road in the Houston suburb of Sugar Land with his toddler unharmed near his side.

But Maleah was nowhere to be found, Vence told police.

Holbrook said there is about a 21-hour gap between the alleged assault and when he woke up on the side of the road that Vence doesn't remember.

"We'd love the public to help us so we can fill in the blanks in this story. I realize there are a lot of blanks in that story, but we're hoping the public can fill in the blanks," Holbrook said during a news conference Sunday afternoon.

Holbrook declined to say if police are suspicious of Vence's story. But he noted that investigators have not found any evidence, including security video or independent witnesses, to corroborate the stepfather's story.

According to Holbrook, Vence told detectives that he, Maleah and the 2-year-old were on their way to George Bush Intercontinental Airport Friday night to pick up Maleah's mother, who was flying in from Massachusetts.

Vence heard a "popping noise," like a popped tire, Holbrook said, and pulled over to check on it.

A blue pickup truck then pulled up behind the vehicle. Two Hispanic males got out and one makes a comment that "Maleah looks very nice, looks very sweet," Holbrook said. The other man hit Vence in the head and he lost consciousness.
Vence later woke up in the back of the truck with Maleah and the 2-year-old, he told police. There were now three Hispanic males in the truck.

He said he was in and out of consciousness until about 6 p.m. Saturday, when he woke up on Highway 6 with the 2-year-old boy. Maleah was missing, Vence said.

Houston police provided this image of missing 5-year-old Maleah Davis.
He then walked to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment and reported Maleah missing.

The vehicle that Vence was driving on the way to the airport -- a silver Nissan Altima that belongs to Maleah's mother -- is also missing, Holbrook said.

aleah Davis was reported missing by her stepfather, Texas, who says she was kidnapped by three men, sparking an Amber Alert. The 5-year-old girl’s stepfather told Houston Police that Maleah was abducted after he was assaulted by men he thought had stopped to help him when he pulled over with car trouble.

Darion Vence, Maleah’s stepfather, said his 1-year-old son was with him and was not harmed. The three men fled with Maleah in a blue Chevrolet crew cab pickup truck, possibly 2010 or similar model according to police. Investigators said Vence described the kidnappers only as Hispanic men. Vence is not being considered a suspect, but police say they are working with him to figure out exactly what happened.

Vence told police that the assault happened Friday night as he drove to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston to pick up Maleah’s mother. He said the men then drove around in their truck with him, his son and his stepdaughter, before leaving him and his son on the side of a road. Vence said he then walked to a hospital because no one would stop to help him, and reported Maleah missing. Houston Police began investigating late Saturday night.
