Once again another tragedy. No doubts the NRA will make this a victory parade over the dead bodies of children. So sad for all involved. This shouldn't be happening.

lets just be honest

this is not gonna stop

no backbacks in any school in the nation

we all survived carrying books

for youngins - no plugs are needed for books they have pages inside!

i would assume walking in with nothing but their laptops might make this easier to avoid

in addition, think of the millions of bucks that can be given to schools not having to -- after each of these spending 78 hours afterwards of cops going through backpacks

we did not pack suitcases to go to school

PS: books weigh more than a laptop - we survived -- AND learned how to talk in real terms

We must do better by our children. This is no way for them to live (or die).

This is not the time to say "it's not the time." And we cannot sit on our hands and lament how horrible society is becoming.

It's not "them" — it's us.

It's time for us to BE THE CHANGE.

CNN Live, Harris County Sheriff: Second person detained is a POI. School is an active crime scene. Shooting happened right before school started. Shooter was student at high school.

The entire school district is on lockdown, district officials said.

Santa Fe is a city of about 13,000 people roughly 20 miles northwest of Galveston and 30 miles southeast of Houston.

The high school has about 1,400 students, according to GreatSchools.org.​
