This is the south and this is Texas and we have some enormous people who over eat Tex Mex food and don’t work out. I’m laughing at everyone who thinks that’s not a regular old obese beer belly hanging down on the pickup truck driver.
The only thing his belly is stuffed with is queso, chips, enchiladas, tamales and Tecate.
Believe me, you northeastern folks are much skinnier than we are!
 
IF a shotgun was used there is no way they shot both on the right side, behind the ear from inside the vehicle.

For one you cannot conceal a shotgun in that small car. The angle in my opinion would have to be the tip of the gun pointing up, but it seems too small of a space.

If they were outside the passenger door, they could have been standing behind her with the gun to her head and shot her while she was sitting.

If both were shot in the car with a shotgun, the trajectory would be all over the car. The person driving would be sitting in the mess, can't really clean all of it up. I don't think a shotgun blast to the head is going to allow the bullet to stay in the head.

Possible that they were killed outside of the car.

I have just looked up the time in San Antonio and it is just past midnight (12:34am) .. perhaps by morning there will be an arrest ..????

I notice this article was updated at 11:16pm …

I haven’t been able to find any other news articles as confirmation, as yet ..…

Maybe a pillow either used to muffle gun shot sounds or as a partial disguise to make himself appear larger than he is so that people would be looking for a guy with a big belly.

If his pants were down, I think a little differently about motive. If this was purely about money or drugs, they would just execute them and be done with it. Not take the time to torture. However, if boyfriend had gotten someone else pregnant and ignored them (perhaps even a rival's sister), forced abortion, or even raped someone, this would be revenge. Eye for an eye. I would think the suspects killed her first in front of him as part of the torture. JMO. Still think they voluntarily drove there to meet up.

Yes. I do understand, it's harder for you to access info or even access news articles sometimes if you're not in the US. We're glad you're here. Stick around. When there's arrests the news will travel fast. There's some locals to the area here. Plus, the great sleuths here will give updates, and eventually we'll get to see mug shots of these perps. I figure at least 4 perps involved, but might be more on the fringe that helped out. In my mind, they're baby killers. All MOO though. ​

This is all just my own opinion.
Torture is often used to get something more out of the victim. Say if he had just gotten in a valuable shipment and they knew about it, then they might torture him to get him to tell where the rest of the drugs were stashed.

I do agree with you that getting vindictive revenge is also a reason to torture. (I'm sure you've heard how sometimes the Mafia cut off a body part and stuck in the mouth of the victim.) Not sure I think it was revenge for him with some rival's sister, but anything's possible. I'd think it'd be more that someone felt wronged in a deal or "the business". (It did cross my mind that if there are really some woman perps, then they might have had it in for Savannah for some reason that they'd take part in harming a very pregnant woman. Or not, if some are women involved, then could just be stand by your gang / stand by your man.) Just want to say-- I hate the cold inhumanity of this kind of violent group thinking. ​

From the quoted link, I'm definitely questioning SHOTGUN versus GUNSHOT. This definitely conflicts with the ME statement earlier. In other words, a contact wound to the head by a shotgun would be like a watermelon... um, I think you get the picture. Clearly a reporting error here.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified Savanah Soto and Matthew Guerra as the bodies found inside a vehicle at a Northwest Side apartment complex on Tuesday.

Guerra’s cause of death is listed as “contact gunshot wound to the head,” indicating that the muzzle of the firearm used to kill him was held directly against his head, while Soto’s cause of death is listed simply as a gunshot wound to the head.

I’m positive that is a mistake because the ME said MG wound was a contact wound
 
Something I wondered about after reading the article below is if it is possible that the crimes committed against SS, MG and Fabian were motivated by the courtroom fight in October. According to Fox news, MG also joined SS’ brothers when they attacked VR. SS also attempts to help them when a woman jumps between VR and her brothers and tries to pull her away from them. SS appears to grab or try to grab the woman’s hair to drag her away from VR when another woman comes from behind her and locks her arms around her. SS defends herself back by aiming for the woman’s face, eyes and hair. The officers quickly pull them apart and check on SS while the other woman is escorted out of the courtroom while still exchanging words with SS. You could definitely feel the tension in the court as VR, the two woman and their friends and family glared at SS and her kin. VR in my opinion wears a particularly evil or mean look as he gave one last glance across the courtroom. This event could make not just SS’ brothers but both SS and MG targets too because they were both involved in the fighting.

Just conjecture or a theory though and could absolutely be wrong.

Definitely in the realm of possibility. VR was 18 when he decided to revenge kill over being robbed of some THC cartridges rather than accept restitution in the form of payment for stolen drugs: "The first sibling to pass was Ethan, who was shot on May 16 as a result of revenge for a drug robbery, according to San Antonio Police."

MOO: I'd put the "avenge the courtroom insult" high on the list of motivations. The courtroom brawl was a preliminary hearing for VR and, as noted upthread, involved SS and MG.

Another angle: would any of the Sotos, including SS, be called to testify against VR in his future murder trial (don't know the date)?

I’m just beyond aggravated, driving me nuts not being able to pause on the exact moment of the split second clearest image that many of us believe to be a ponytail of the person driving the Kia- further speculation on this person is that it’s a female.

JMO- my frustration is factual.

Even if the person has a ponytail does not mean they are female. I'm sure we will find out the gender of the peeps either when LE release further information or arrest said persons. I'm not sure why people are getting so hung up on gender
