Richardson Police Department just confirmed to me that they are looking into allegations that Wesley Mathews left his daughter 3-year-old Sherin Mathews outside of their home at 3 a.m. as punishment for something and that when he came back outside, she was gone. She is still missing this morning. He was arrested last night and is charged with child endangerment. Police said they found no evidence yesterday that she was abducted. Amber Alert still active. Call 911 if you have any information.

WTF??? Putting a 3 yr old OUTSIDE in the middle of the night as punishment....

I hope people have surveillance cameras facing backyards to check for signs of Sherin, the father, a car leaving their property or an intruder. I doubt the abduction story. And I guess police must have evidence that an abduction did NOT occur.

This is horrific, and nothing justifies it. I'm trying to wrap my pea brain around this,and how it could have unfolded. I'm wondering if this was a regular punishment, but this time she disappeared or died... That would account for not alerting police until 8 am. Of course, that assumes the 3 am time frame was real, which is assuming a lot.
Still hoping she ended up holed up somewhere, or was taken somewhere safe and the people don't have a cell phone and don't watch the news... I can hope. Sometimes it is all we have!

She was beyond the fence of their property, not within it according to reports. Why was she outside of their property? Where they trying to get rid of her? Were they hoping she would disappear?

Sherin’s parents told Police they last saw her beyond the fence of their backyard around 3 a.m., off Sunningdale, near Centennial Blvd.

I hope neighbors have checked their yards. Under cars, small spaces, everywhere. She's so small she could have snuck in somewhere and fallen asleep. That doesn't account for no one seeing her yesterday though.

Unfreaking believable! WTH is wrong with people? So a developmentally challenged 3 year old is going to understand being punished by being thrown outside in the middle of the night? OMG!

SHE IS 3 YEARS OLD!

But what if this punishment was so ritual, so often that it could make Sherin easy prey for a nearby predator?
