Three separate persons of interests. One has been cleared. Narrows it down to two. But it seems like the main person of interest is the boyfriend who has lawyered up.

They are casting pretty heavy blame on the boyfriend.

One POI has refused to talk to LE, and has retained an attorney

Confirms this is the BF

Someone who is supposed to care about her

There were three POIs initially. One came in, talked to LE, and this individual has been cleared. Two remain. Police Chief specifically states the boyfriend is the one whom they believe has more information than anyone else, but he has retained an attorney and is refusing to talk to LE. Chief says he cannot release the boyfriend's name because he has retained an attorney. I wonder the perp had help from the other remaining POI?

Recap of the search areas and the investigation so far

They have issued over a dozen search warrants

Search has covered over 400 Sq Miles so far
Expanded into other counties
Multiple SAR teams literally beating bushes to search
All top notch agencies are on the search and they will keep looking

$50,000 reward they need tips

They cannot list the POI's name
POI's attorney is Liz Rogers (spelling?)
There have been 3 POI and one has been cleared

They believe she is alive and want to return her safely to her family
They have one individual that they believe has info but they have retained an attorney and refuses to talk
This person happens to know her better than anyone else
Confirms POI is the boyfriend but cannot reveal his name

They have her dog
Her dog is safe
circumstances regarding her dog lead in a certain direction

They are not giving up hope she is alive
It is a missing persons case and they are going to keep going
They will not even consider stopping the search yet
They are small agency but they will not put this on the back burner

Relying heavily on pro SAR teams
Message for the boyfriend --"these investigators are waiting to talk to you"
POI interviewed on Saturday and he "invoked his rights"

Family statement:
Her father: we have had nothing but love and support
Each day the search gets bigger
he has felt helpless and all he can do is thank everyone
Has met so many students, professors, landlords
Everyone has been so embracing and helped to try to find ZuZu
The company he works for has supplied amazing resources
there is one person he would like to thank but can't yet.
He asks Zuzu's boyfriend Robert to please help and please cooperate so he can thank him too...
He tells the boyfriend he knows he loves Zuzu and asks him to show it

Her brother makes same plea to Robert to help bring Zuzu home and breaks down crying.

Indeed. I really think that the sole purpose of the presser was to try and pressure the BF to talk, employing all means possible and from all angles (LE: Making it clear that they have evidence, and they are testing it, we are coming for you, etc.; Zuzu's family: Attempt at appealing to the BF emotionally). If the BF doesn't talk after all this, he is a true sociopath, IMO !
