Has anyone any news on Adrian? I keep hoping he will be found and the searches go on - but nothing ?

:rose: Thoughts for his family.
When someone adds a comment I get a notification that rolls across the top of my phone screen ... when I see that it's a comment on here after hearing no news for a while, it makes me catch my breath. I think 'is this it? Has he been found?' ... not this time. But it's nice to know I'm not the only one who still wonders, hopes for answers.
How much worse this waiting, hoping, must be for his loved ones :(

There was this article a few days ago but I didn't post it because of nothing new and it being more about the Jersey police having their opinion reinforced than anything else IMO.

The are a few comments to read. I'm just surprised we've heard nothing from family/friends going to the media to do an appeal or something on SM even. Maybe I missed it?

I keep popping over to the Find Adrian page, seems the public searches have petered out somewhat but they're still handing out thousands of flyers. Time for a change in tactics as I'm sure every household knows all about Adrian so leafleting seems a little futile.

Could he have walked to the sea and fallen/jumped off a cliff? You'd think his body would have washed up in France looking at the geography of the area (no idea about the currents though). In such a defined area you'd think a grid search would have found him by now, I just hope every inch of land has been covered.

Personally I'm not ruling out a car (taxi?) hitting him on that narrow lane and hiding him somewhere for fear of the consequences.

I think I trust the police, but I am wondering why foul play is ruled out because there isn't really much evidence.

I suppose if he did fall in the sea, it could take ages for him to wash up.I got the impression that the police didn't suspect that though.

Him having both his passport and driving licence still puzzles me. I know we've flogged the reasons why to death but it still makes me wonder...

Maybe...

On a previous night out Adrian left his driving licence (his usual ID) at a friend's house.

Friend promised to bring it out on this night but wasn't arriving until later so Adrian took his passport as proof of his age in case he was asked before the friend showed.

Friend turned up and handed the licence over.

Just a suggestion. Personally I don't see this to be as much of an issue as some people do.

This is a reply from Adrian's step mum to a comment from itv Channel TV Facebook page on the 29th January. It seems like the original news report of him having both his driving licence and passport was incorrect and he only had his passport which was quite normal for him.

Comment on ITV Channel TV's post

why would he have a passport and driving licence with him on a night out. ? did he leave the Island . ?

Comment below from Adrian step mum:

I don't usually respond on social media, but just to put the record straight on this particular subject as you are all letting your imaginations run away with you. Ady only had his passport on him, not both. That is incorrect information given out. He just had his passport on him as usual on a night out, as he had planed to go into town at some point during the evening. He had no desire to leave the island. I guess seeing this being debated is something we unfortunately are going to have to get used to. Even though it is very frustrating.

Fair doos but people will only base thoughts/ideas as to what happened on the information released

Very true, if only she'd corrected it a few weeks ago. For what it's worth I still find it odd taking a £75 document on a night out, when you can fit a drivers licence card in your wallet. But apparently it was usual for him to do that (it's possible he looked very young and had his licence queried previously) so I'm crossing it off my "hinky things to do with Adrian" list.

Having lived there, I'd guess incompetence or wanting to ensure the Island retains its "safe" reputation as a holiday destination as reasons why they have ruled out foul play.

As there are no witnesses and no cctv to suggest exactly what had happened, I personally don't think any scenario should have been ruled out.

Still nothing. This is unbelievable. If he did fall in the sea, I suppose his body could have become trapped. What do people think? Most likely?

I just don't know, Blam. You'd think if Adrian headed towards the coast (a couple of miles in either direction I think, off the top of my head) someone would have seen him. No idea how sheer the cliffs are around there, would a body hit the water, or rocks? And no idea about the currents though I did see some map way back and reckoned he could end up on the French coast.

I feel the most likely explanation is wherever he hid just hasn't been checked. But I also think there's a possibility someone hit him in a car and has hidden him. In a small society like Jersey that person may have recognised Ady, known his family, been drinking and driving (taxi?) any number of reasons to panic and do the wrong thing....

I hope come Spring the islanders will do a really thorough grid search. This mystery needs solving.

Adrian's parents were interviewed last night on the Itv Channel news. They are devastated and desperate for closure. It can be watched on Itv.com/news/channel until Monday.

Tonight there was an interview with a retired police Chief Superintendent from the met police, who was an expert in missing persons cases. He has come over from the UK to give an independent review of the case to Channel TV, but is not working with the Jersey police. His opinion is that it is more likely to have been foul play than an accident, as he would have expected that after three months of such extensive searching of the area, a body would have been found. As well as a hit & run, he also said an abduction could be possible. I think this interview can be watched from Monday.

Here is a link to ITV news about Adrian. Comments by the Chief Superintendent (see above post) from the Met plus a video by ITV's reporter.

Sadly no recent news - but nevertheless some information. Adrian - where are you ???

Thanks for the link, Jessie. It lists all the people the police want to talk to and one thing stood out: people out and about hitch hiking in the wee small hours.

It's been years and years since I saw anybody hitchhiking (not that I'm often driving round the countryside at 3am these days!). I think the Wests put paid to it being a regular thing to be honest. Is it quite common to do in Jersey? Interesting that the police now think there may well have been foul play. Could Adrian have been hitchhiking?

Anybody fancy attempting a map of the places mentioned?

It's funny you say that cags, OH and I had a convo about hitchhiking yesterday. We saw a guy trying to hitch a ride (sign in hand) on our way home from Asda. We both commented how we hadn't seen anyone do it in years and thought nobody did anymore!

I can add the locations to the map I made if you like?

I suppose it depends where you live regarding hitch hiking. I live in a remote village with an abysmal bus service and do often see people hitching lifts. I have picked people up from time to time even driving on my own.

Maybe it isn't uncommon in Jersey? Late at night, lost mobile, middle of nowhere, the odd car or bike passing?

Be interested to hear from anyone who knows Jersey whether it's common.

Witness locations added to the Case Map

I think I got them right although I'm not sure about the Taxi. It was tough finding some of the locations tbh

How many guys wear mustard coloured suits!?

I'm glad to hear that Adrian isn't being forgot by the Jersey Police

It does take a special kind of person to wear a mustard coloured suit...I must say there's a helluva lot of people frequenting the roads (in various forms) for such an early time of the morning
