Rbbm. Do you think the letter had some significance, wonder who it was sent to and if that person ever made themselves known to LE?

"The questions remain endless. We know that Claudia made it to work on the 18th of March, 2009. CCTV at the University of York's Goodricke College captured her arrival at 5:57AM. Then, at 2:31PM, she was seen embarking on the three-mile walk back home. Claudia's car was in the garage for repairs at the time. She'd been walking to and from work that week. That particular afternoon, a female colleague picked her up and gave her a lift. Shortly after arriving home she left again and was seen posting a letter outside the parade of shops near her house. She had a conversation with a woman with a pram and passed The Nags Head, before her last confirmed sighting at 3.05PM. Then the speculation started.

We do know that later that night, at 8:10PM, Claudia called her dad. Then her mum. She texted a friend. At 9.12PM she received a text message from a friend in Cyprus, her favourite holiday spot – though it's not known whether she read the message or not.

Work the next day was due to start at 6AM. Claudia never clocked in"
This is nt strictly correct. She posted the letter at Melrosegate Post Office, Post Box. This was the half way point on her way home from work. She was then seen by a female work colleague-Jo, who gave her a lift the remainder of the way home. The letter was posted by then. After returning home she went out again, no one knows for what reason but she was out for about 20 minutes. A private cctv camera saw her returning to her house just after she met the childminder with pram. The errand that was of 20 minutes duration remains a mystery to this day, it was not necessarily to post a letter. Perhaps she wanted to buy some drugs?

I wonder if it was to go somewhere that she intended dropping in to on the way home but because she was offered a lift, it was easier to accept the lift home then double back?

And she might not wanting her colleague to know where or what

Idk, is there her Banking institute perhaps along that part of the way?
She couldn't have done online banking; so maybe she had to make a transfer?

The nearest cash machine was on East Parade I believe but she could have obtained cash back (popular 10 years ago) from Costcutters. Except it is widely believed she didn't cross the road there because the Costcutters camera didn't pick her up.

I thought of a possible visit inside her Banking institute, not of a cash machine. But thank you! :) Seemingly there isn't one.
Another idea: Maybe, she gave her personally order for a bouquet/flower arrangement for the upcoming Mother's Day? You could have done it per call, but CL could have wanted to have a look at the flowers before ordering?

Brainstorming, what I would do around my home on foot perhaps, in case a call wouldn't be helpful.

If “ the answer lies in the Pub “ then why are the police still searching for the smoker in Claudia’s car ?
All the arrested people would have given their dna plus finger prints ?

In case he is a secret boyfriend who may be innocent but in whom CL may have shared key info.

To keep the case alive in the public domain.

Good answer but on the other hand if he is innocent he would have shared the’key’ info by now .
No I believe the police wanted dna and fingerprints from those arrested

Might be innocent from causing her harm, but might have a wife and children who he doesn't want to lose over an affair

The police did say, over and over, that they would be discreet in that case .

Maybe, but might still consider it too big a risk, also might think as he didn't actually harm her why get involved, if all he can tell the police is that he had a relationship with her, and if he has had dealings with the police previously may also be even more reluctant to talk to them

Or he is simply guilty

This letter she mailed. Is it known for fact that it was indeed a handwritten personal letter and not a bill she was posting?

There was a NatWest branch on East Parade.
