Eh? First I thought Craigslist was a euphamism for a s*x phone line but now its linked to the er... 'lodgers' appearing via the back door (not a euphamism, by the alley behind the house I think you mean).

No no just to make it clear for all what I meant.
In America and many other places guys have been known to hire the services of females to be seen with them by their wives or girlfriends stupid I know but even teenage girls go out with their male friends in order to boost their image !

People are getting carried away.
A young lady buys her first home .Quite an achievement.She was only there for about three years .She was bound to invite all her family and old friends to see her new house.Only natural .Then she had Jen staying with for a year...Jen must have invited some of her own friends plus poss customers from the Nh . In fact we know that Claudia was in the habit to carry on drinking / eating after closing time in her own house.
When Jen says lodgers she means lodgers fhs !
We also know she had friends ( around 15 ) from Manchester but she met them while on holidays in Cuba and often went to see her in York and stayed with her.!
I was simply asking if we or the police know who else apart from Jen stayed with her as a lodger fhs !
Incidentally this could be her extra income ?!
We know one can have lodgers without even telling the tax man .I seem to recall years ago you could charge £50 a week without even declaring it
So please let’s not get carried away

She was a good listener I believe.
Plus why do it where everyone knows you and him ?

Perhaps she used the back door? Saying that, local people aren't daft. They all know what was going on so I'm not sure how much of a 'secret' it actually was.

I was referring to say her and Lee why would she still meet him at the Nh where his wife and friends socialised?
It only lasted 2 months .

You are right far too many !
It is not that complicated ... it’s just one person imo ie the mystery boyfriend IMO

It's all a matter of interpretation. Neither of us (as far as I'm aware) knew the people close to this case, including the victim. We do know that people close to CL have withheld key information and told lies. There are other facts pertaining to lifestyle that have emerged in the past 11 years which have been publicly broached by police. Some of these facts do not match up with comments made by her so-called close friends in early publications/videos. Descriptions were, of course, highly subjective and sometimes misleading. There is only so much that can be stated by NYP openly, with family to be considered and the obvious accusations of victim blaming. Other journalists investigating the case have alluded to lifestyle and her worrying alliances with a string of unsavoury characters. This is a bizarre case mainly because the victim has been very difficult to describe to members of the public because her lifestyle was complex and at odds with her upbringing. This is what Sky journo G.er.ard T-ubb said.
Journalists were finding the story hard to tell. For a privately-educated daughter of a country solicitor Claudia had some unusual acquaintances and this remains the only missing person case where I've been warned off or threatened - not once, but twice.... Journalists and the police alike have found it hard to break the silence surrounding some of her relationships.

If you read KS's article which I posted earlier, it seems CL was oblivious to all that and continued to frequent the NH with LH openly during and after the relationship.

Yes the relationship lasted for 8 weeks only ! And probably ended when Claudia realised he was never really finished from his wife !

The problem is the mystery boyfriend is so mysterious nobody including all her friends and family had any idea he ever existed, the only person to ever mention him was her chef work colleague and it took him a year to remember that this person existed, despite the fact that after a year she was almost certainly dead

As a work colleague and self confessed good friend of claudia, after a few weeks when it was apparent she was probably dead wouldn't you rack your brain trying to work out who may have killed her, yet it took him a year to remember she was seeing a new boyfriend, I don't buy it, not any of it

May I suggest we refer to him as “the mystery boyfriend “ and not necessarily even a lover !
So there is no confusion .The police know the name of the ‘casual’ boyfriend and had established that the casual boyfriend was not with her two days before .

Yeah but I don't recall the police mentioning him as a poi, if he was with claudia that close to her dissapearence wouldn't they want to track him down to at least question him and eliminate him as a suspect if need be

Given her lifestyle I'd be somewhat surprised if a boyfriend wasn't also her lover
