I suspect a GPS could tell you where but not how deep. IMHO
 
I posted this in the media thread yesterday, but I'm posting it here as well in the event anyone may have missed it.


Suffolk Police Update

5 June 2017

The search at the landfill site at Milton in Cambridgeshire will continue as officers work to trace missing Corrie McKeague.

Specialist officers from Suffolk and Norfolk police have been searching the area of the landfill site which was identified as holding waste from the Bury St Edmunds area in the relevant time period.

The work is constantly being reviewed and, as the search team are still finding items from the right time frame that are identifiable as coming from the town, the search will continue on a week by week basis.

Throughout the search officers have been working to understand exactly where waste was deposited and how it may have been spread out during the process.

This week police will be bulk-moving further material to allow the work to continue. This is being done to ensure all parts of the relevant area are covered following further detailed and specific work completed around the GPS positioning of the vehicle which brought the waste to the site.

This has led to an expansion of the original search parameters as work continues to locate anything that may help the investigation into Corrie’s disappearance.

Around 4,430 tonnes of waste have been searched through to date.

This quotes NU regarding LE now using the tacho and GPS from the lorry to find out where the lorry parked. Now why didn't they look at that 10 weeks ago? Perhaps it is just the way the article reads. If they don't find C will they look at the tacho and GPS to see if the lorry went elsewhere between BSE and Milton?

It might take a lot of work to get the precise gps location. There is data I get in my work which involves removing a lot of unneeded info to get to the true data I need and this takes me about an hour to do. I'd guess getting the exact gps location could work like that but with a lot more hours involved?
 
A long article in the DMail who appear to have spoken to Martin M.

Brings up C's membership of various swingers' sites with his profile, how aware his family were of this side of his private life, whether it may have a bearing on his disappearance and the statement that police are still investigating this area.
There are also references to the rift between NU and MM.

The possibility has crossed my mind that Corrie may have been harmed by a jealous partner of someone he saw on the swingers site. I really hope a breakthrough is finally made in his case soon.

It can't be as hard as 10 weeks looking thru that LF. What if tacho/gps shows lorry not even going to Milton is what I mean?

Eta. Having just read the DM article Jessie posted, that reads like they have got the GPS data .

Did We not have some sort of quote from N when this all come to light, did she not say that she had full access to all of this and we said it was odd that she would have the passwords, just IMO as I'm finding it hard to find a lot of the old stuff now, are all the old family updates from last year still around any ware on the internet, I would wouldn't mind reading them again,

Just one link, but most articles all had the same statement from Nicola, including this comment about the FabSwingers account:

"April could have easily deleted her account as I could have deleted Corrie’s however what was far more important than a little embarrassment was that the police were informed immediately and given every ability to ensure this did not have anything to do with Corrie’s disappearance. Which they are still doing.”

As you say, how could N have deleted it if she didn't have a password to get on there? And didn't she make a statement on tv about how her sons told her everything, including some things she didn't need/want to know?

As I recall, that was the subject of considerable discussion here pretty early on in the investigation.

Well one would take it that LE wouldn't be spending so much time at the LF if there wasn't something they thought they could find. This may be the phone or it may be CM or it may be both. I really don't think they would continue without substantive reason. IMPO
