I just thought it was interesting that the US air Base was giving out advice about drinking on that Friday.

Thanks DCFlag for posting the video clip of the area Corrie was in. The Horseshoe looks much bigger and more open than I expected. It's really hard to see how someone could exit there unnoticed, and there don't even look as though there are any dark corners or places where one could be out of view, except perhaps behind parked cars. A question for the military guys and gals on here - is Corrie senior enough in his job to be likely to have sensitive information which someone might be after?

No problem. The description makes it sound a bit shady or something but it's just literally like a horseshoe in the road, like a semi circle for the bins and for lorries to turn in it etc. I think it's used for staff parking also.

I don't know corries rank but I'd guess three years into service its unlikely

Long-time local lurker here.

To give my two pennies worth:

It is nigh on impossible to know whether AWOL is a possibility as we would have to have an insight into Corrie's personal life and mental health to know whether he had any reason to disappear, and to make it a credible option.

His family have stated that he would have no reason to go AWOL but obviously if there is a hint that this is why Corrie disappeared, then public interest will not be as strong, so it would not in their interest to even admit that this could be an option (and who could blame them).

Friends and colleagues who Corrie had recent contact with may obviously know more about his state of mind at the point of his disappearance than his parents, but they are not allowed to talk to the press according to the FB site, as they are all potential witnesses. And this would explain why all statements come from the family and no one else.

Also there are some sort of reporting restrictions on the case as Corrie is army personnel as well according to the FB site (I can't remember the term used). The site is a bit confusing and I can't remember whether this was corroborated by Tony or Nicola but, again, it would make sense that there isn't wider media coverage for this reason.

I am another who believes that Thetford Forest is the logical place to search, however monumental the task.

I stood at the 'horseshoe' yesterday for the first time, to show my son and tell him about Corrie's disappearance, and the hairs went up on the back of my neck. It's so tragic, and I hope showing the public all the cctv footage yields results for the sake of his family.

Definitely not given his rank and role, nothing that would be worth taking him for.

Always interesting to have a local perspective, I agree with what you've written.

If you mean the d notice I'm sure tony has mentioned it before.

I'm not sure what a 'd' notice is...could anyone clarify. I believe Thetford is an area they should be interested in and perhaps sulsar/ raf have begun searching there... I do wish people would read before suggesting disinterest from various parties...This is how rumours of people not doing their job properly start when actually the opposite is true. It could also be quite upsetting from the family. I'm keeping everything crossed for a good response after the cctv viewings.

The manual camera looks over the "Greenwoods" camera.
That's how it's done.

The other cameras (off in other positions) merely prove Corrie could not walk off from that area.

Once you establish the fact he didn't leave, the two cameras (either in turn or insequence) show the "comings and goings".

Hence you have "The cars" and "The people".

Note....and the second camera, whilst on rotation and unable to see "all the time", can see something that has been missed by many !

The shadows in Short Brackland.
It is surprisingly well lit around there. And lit forwards. The reason why Corries shadow disappears is because he walks on the pavement and close to the tree. But anything "out of sight" of the camera and that is in the road...can be seen.
The second camera can confirm what the first camera sees.
not cars, vehicles - a specific choice of words in my opinion (at least one may well not be a car)

They are "bothering" to search for him actually.

From a Suffolk police press release 11th November
https://www.suffolk.police.uk/news/missing-persons/corrie-mckeague

"Specialist RAF search teams have joined Suffolk police officers and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue volunteers to carry out line searching of wooded areas too. New searches are being considered as the enquiry continues."
and
"In addition to RAF military police investigators, RAF search personnel and intelligence staff, Suffolk Constabulary are also receiving assistance from other specialist teams from other forces including CCTV viewers from Metropolitan Police."

I looked at at the link - and your quote - but the quote you put is not in that update...where did get that quote from?

No, he isn't.

It's kind of like one of those celebrity super-injunctions that Giggsy & co got, but for national security reasons. Basically a media blackout regarding certain aspects of the investigation.

Does anyone here remember if there was a car confirmed to be going the wrong way down a one way street?

That explains a lot I think...
Tony's podcast/radio interview seems to pour cold water on the idea of a dnotice as the interviewer stated there wasn't one, Tony didn't argue with that. I suspect there are aspects of Corries career that are being kept under wraps for a variety of reasons. I suspect Uncle Tony dropped the d-bomb originally knowing it would cause a massive spike of interest in the case, and it did.

Tony mentioned it in the podcast interview on 3rd November, but hasn't mentioned it since as far as I know, so it remains unconfirmed.

"... we can't confirm this yet, but we've got credible information that a car passed the wrong way up the one way street there"

Transcript and link to interview here.

Yes there was, and that wasn't a vehicle - just a big standard car. Although if you were going to commit a crime, not sure you would highlight it by driving the wrong way down a street, unless you had no other way of manoeuvring. I wonder having just typed that, would a bin pickup stop a car fully navigating that area (by blocking the turning/road) and involve it having to leave the incorrect way?
