I don't think I noticed this Mail report last Saturday in which it seems Cilliers tried to implicate a specific other man, and pretend his wife was having an affair with him, not just the 'random stranger' he also suggested. The prosecution details about his actions in connection with her parachute jump are also very clearly reported.

I should have said, the Mail report was from 4 October (not last Saturday 4 November)! That's why I'd forgotten some details...but I trust the prosecution will be bringing them out again very clearly in the summing up.

It's lucky that Vicky noticed and mentioned the blood on the gas valve in her first text. Or he might have tried to claim it got there later when he tried to fix it. I think that's what the defence still tried to claim anyway, but that could never make sense.

No - the fact is, he is a pantomime villain, only a lot less amusing.
I presume his barrister has been rehashing the stuff about how he realised he loved her, he never would have got the money etc, but it's all so clearly unconvincing

Yes - it's the 'my client is an absolute cad but that doesn't mean he's guilty of murder' defence. It seems to be unfinished, so perhaps she'll deal with the parachute evidence on Monday. Or not.

I find the defence counsel to be quite bizarre in some of her statements

- talking about tying Victoria to railway tracks, referencing the stuntman in the Olympic Games jump and bringing Stephen Hawkins into the summation.

I agree, Alyce, but take this to be a sign of desperation.

I agree it’s a bit bizarre. The stuntman death was in doing a totally different discipline, she’s undermined her own point with that one!
