Yes I wondered this too as this whole area had been searched before. There was a post on the FB missing page that said a witness had seen Frankie near Caerhun which was a new sighting. Person posting said Police had told Frankies Mum. but this post was very quickly removed. This was the day before he was found.

So are we wondering if he was in fact alive but camping/hiding out for most of the time he's been missing? That would be quite a plot twist. It would also change greatly the expectations we might have of the post mortem.

I am thinking that his body was there from not long after he was last seen on CCTV but a new witness came forward hence the police search in the specific area he was found? Frankies mum in her press appeal gave the impression that she had received messages from friends which led her to believe he had come to harm. I think it was hit and run or something that happened at the rave and someone was after him maybe in a car and he ran into the woods to hide ? but feel sure it was foul play.

The post I saw that was removed said that a witness had reported a sighting of Frankie in Caerhun area so yes it was a new sighting I believe but from the day he went missing but only just recently reported to the police

Yes, OK, I get it now. When you said 'new sighting', I thought you meant 'recent sighting'. Whereas what we are really talking about is a recent report of an additional, but not recent, sighting. So I guess we're back to the scenario in which he's been dead some time.

Just heard this news from my folks, who live in Caerhun.

a local lad walking his dog found his body

omg, will no one think of the dog walkers...?

If true, that’s wild. What have the police and police dogs been doing there for weeks?

Interesting about the new sighting. I wonder if this person saw Frankie socially with others but has been keeping quiet...

Exactly and Drone searches, from what I have read on his missing group on FB it seems to be the consensus that many knew information but were not coming forward. The gist of all posts lately seems to be asking people to do the right thing and come forward with information. Maybe someones conscience was pricked.

Yeah, true. Unless he’d been dumped there more recently?

I used to be in a mountain rescue team. I’d been on searches all day, then a relative would turn and go straight to where they thought the MisPer was. It’s not always so clear cut when searching

Oh no, that's horrible. Poor lad. Do your parents know which woods it was? I feel like this might shed some more light on things. For example, is it an area regularly walked/private property/part of the land that has already purportedly been searched? Does it indicate that Frankie may have got further on his journey than originally guessed?

As others have said, it seems strange that a dog walker found him if he has been in the same place for a month and the whole area has been searched so thoroughly.

Frankie’s death is not being treated as suspicious and his family, who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very difficult time, are being supported by specialist officers.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said: “Our thoughts are naturally with Frankie’s family. This was an extensive and prolonged search and I would like to thank everyone who assisted us over the last five weeks”

Frankie’s mother, Alice Morris, who last week made an emotional appeal to the public to help her find her "beautiful son" said: “On behalf of the family I’d like to thank everyone involved in the search for Frankie in particular the local community.

"Frankie was very much loved and will be dearly missed. I would be grateful if we could now be given privacy to grieve in this difficult time.”
