I just noticed the two different dogs. Double checking each other's work or one for live tracking and the other for decomp? The spaniel seems intent on something, though for all I know his ball is just out of shot.

That's an awful lot of potential evidence to be removing if there isn't evidence she came to harm there, do we assume there is?

What I don't understand is that if so why NE and RD have been released unless of course someone else is the main suspect but if so why has that not been shared by the Police would they not usually name the person as wanted. Unless they know the suspect took her alive and do not want to risk her being harmed.... That would contradict my favoured theory that whatever happened to her was accidental though. Surely even a panicked person would come forward by now if they'd accidentally hurt but not killed her

Hi CoverMeCagney :)

Unless the two that were arrested were officially declared by LE to be POIs, they are not sleuthable. You may discuss what has been said about them in MSM, but nothing further. WSers are the ones to determine whether an individual is a POI .. we'll leave that up to LE.
Can you define your comment/the rules using British terminology please?
We don't really have 'person of interest' declared here - it might be 'taken in for questioning', 'helping with enquiries', 'arrested on suspicion of', 'bailed', 'released under investigation'... thanks :)

I know in the McCann case they had one dog specialised in detecting blood and another at finding odour of death.

Sorry Mrazda71 I posted the above before reading exactly what you wanted clarifying

I thought it was RD’s house not Gaia’s

We didn't know at the time but we have been told since that Gaia was living there.'
Today, forensic investigators have been spotted removing parts of piping and toilet fixtures from Mrs Dinch's home in Manor Gardens - the last place Gaia was seen before disappearing.
His father Greg Elsey said Paul offered officers his phone and bank card to prove he was working away in Weymouth when she vanished. Mr Elsey claims he now doesn't know where his son is.

I know our cops can be 'bungling' at times, BUT there is no way all that activity is going on without them having good cause to believe she came to harm there.... look at all the cut backs in the police.... they'd have some explaining to do if she appeared now.... it's difficult to imagine being in that situation, but I guess if you've panicked and you are facing a long stint in jail.... you just take it as far as you can.... it's heartbreaking, so many lives shattered, I really do not think anyone 'planned' anything... it's all got out of hand now

@clockness - IF accident and panic - who do you think helped out afterwards? don't think NE drives but not at all sure.... his mother does

Interesting... I hadn't considered her. I need to re-read reports to work out who is related to who and how on that side

thank you was not enough. This is where I'd focus. someone (not sold it was mom but someone) helped after the fact. knowingly, or even perhaps unknowingly.

I think grandad is going to be (understandably)biased towards Nathan and isn't likely to say anything other than what 'a nice, well liked boy he is' ... however ... I do feel like Uncle P has been thrown under the bus ...

:) it's okay, no need to apologise ...

I think it's a bit tricky having UK threads with no UK admin (not that all the admin aren't wonderful) as our laws, policing, judicial system and terminology and if course, times are all different.

I think common sense would say that RD and NE are POI's. They were arrested and let go on bail and remain under investigation. They are clearly Persons of Interest and therefore sleuthable. jmo
