Not what you want at 2am that's for sure! You did the right thing by calling 999. Though I Hope you manage to get to sleep without the cops coming to wake you up to check on you.

So last online activity at 10.58. He was very late changing that appointment - in effect missing the appointment and making another one. I think he killed her sometime between 10.58 and 11.33 and I don't think she was sedated. Something happened to make him do this and he hadn't planned it that way.

Re not sedated: i was wondering how much room there is for that possibility, given the pathologist's "no signs of struggle" finding?
For HB to be overcome while conscious, without significant struggle, we have to imagine either 1) good physical condition for IS, or 2) his successfully carrying out a martial arts manoeuvre, or 3) HB being more of a push-over than one would have expected.

Thanks! They came within about 5 mins I reckon... pretty quick

Something that doesn't sit right is IS saying that Helen took those zopiclone herself, especially when he claims that she took them when he was in hospital.

She was a known worrier, she would research and read up on stuff, she didn't like taking prescription meds and she had high blood pressure, yet IS claims that she took his zopiclone off him because it could give him unwanted side effects due to his MG but then took them herself knowing that she has high blood pressure.

Surely a quick look at the google results of 'zopiclone high blood pressure' would be enough to put a worrier off taking those pills, especially if they were alone at night.

This is what I'm thinking, Duchy, from being active on her computer to suddenly instantly becoming knocked out in such a short space of time puzzles me.

Exactly..........
Plus the amount of time she managed to hang onto that emergency Valium is commendable. In my eyes.

Nothing that comes from the mouth of IS "sits right" lol. And yes you are absolutely right, she would have checked before taking.

I have no doubt that Helen may even have said to IS "be careful with these due to your MG" but I doubt she would have told him not to take them....any more than she would have taken them herself.

His tale is so weaved with fantasy that most of it can be discounted.

Or he had just given up the idea for that day, and suddenly Helen went to sleep....so he realised he did have the opportunity but would have to cancel out of the Surgery.

One theory was that he had meant to give her the tablets earlier that morning but for whatever reason had not been able to. The plan being that she would be killed and her body safely disposed of before he had to leave for his 11.30 appointment. This would have given him a perfect alibi - Helen leaving the house while he was in the Surgery, with plenty of witnesses.

Going back to this discussion, I don't understand why anyone thought they weren't handling the conveyancing of the flat in Newcastle, because Mr Penn gave evidence about how he was doing so, and there's no other reason for consulting a solicitor about that flat except to do the conveyancing. You brought his evidence up again in Thread 4:
Timothy Penn, a solicitor at Penn Sassoly solicitors in Royston, will now be giving evidence.

He said: “Helen was introduced to me because she needed a solicitor for the sale of a flat.

“On April 5 she came into my office for an appointment. She said to me that I would need her partner’s ID at some point.

“She said the flat had been an investment property, it was surplus to her requirements she was selling it to realise the capital. It was a very routine conveyancing transaction as far as we were concerned.

“The flat was in Gateshead, the asking price was £185,000. The purpose of the meeting was an opportunity to meet the client which we always wish to do, and to get some basic instructions from her in regard to the property and the circumstances of the sale.

“That was the first and only time I met Helen Bailey. My records showed that Helen was due to come into the office to see me on April 11, 2016, but my office was called and we heard that she would not be coming in because she was unwell.

A few days later Stewart came in with some documents Helen was due to be bringing in but wasn’t able to.

“He came back and collected the surplus documents about a week later. We copied his ID.

“He gave the air of someone who was in a little bit of a hurry, but apart from that there was nothing untoward really.”

Of course that still leaves the question of why she was searching for a conveyancer when she already had one, even if she had thoughts about the Royston house - which was their joint property, wasn't it?

Haha yes, that would have been weekend valium in my eyes :D

*ahem* not a junkie honest :D

SNOOPYDOG! You have got to be a fellow Scot with vocab like that... bams trying to get in your door!

The only time I dialled 999 was 3am after being woken up by the smoke alarm and realising my house was ablaze. I only managed to say "Fire engines... fire engines... fire engines..." like a demented two year old :D

Good morning everyone, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but will the Will be nul and void does anybody know? Just thinking about the boys - didn't it say something about about a home for the boys as well as Ian if anything happened to HB?

Did IS know she was searching for a conveyancer. Perhaps she was trying to sort out a London property and get it under way without him knowing?

The Will was leaving Helen's entire estate to be distributed at Tony Hurley's discretion so I imagine it will stand and poor Tony will get all the difficult decisions!

A murderer and their descendants are barred from profiting from any will of the victims. If the sons get a thing I imagine it would be a gift and purely down to the goodwill of the executor(s).

In this instance, there seems to be a decent amount of goodwill and sympathy from Helen's side toward those two innocent young men having their world ripped apart right now. I imagine they will be taken care of one way or another.

Looks like a quiet day in the office for me today.

:happydance:

Thought we were starting early today..........

If the house is sold IS will have plenty of cash that he wont be requiring in prison though. Perhaps he ought to ensure that his boys are looked after.
