Thank you :) I'll have a look at those

Yes that's a good point she may have used it for WiFi messaging apps

It's not really fair to name her friends she was with in case they get harassed by the general public/trolls/journalists. If one of them is arrested it's fine to name them at that stage as it's in the publics interest. Otherwise we don't need to know who they are. It's hugely unlikely any of her friends were involved, they were not with her at the time and I'm sure attacking and murdering someone is way riskier if you are a deaf person, it's not like you can hear potential witnesses or police sirens coming or even how loud the person is screaming.

I had a walk around the area. There is another cctv camera towards on James Watt Street. The buildings in both directions along Broomielaw have security cameras on them that I think would have picked her up if she walked up or downstream.

Yes being in this line of work I'm very aware they couldn't name friends but I was referring to maybe friends may have stated how kirsty was when she left , as there was talk of an argument I would have thought someone may have left with her to see if she was OK , also friends at the Eurohostel/Casino I wondered if they had contact from her via WiFi enabled apps etc

I agree that the police are very quiet . When both the other girls were missing the media and police campaigns were a lot larger . I went on to BBC Scotland news earlier on the text app and there was nothing on the case .I hope for kirstie and the kids sake she is found safe and well soon .

If the possible sighting off Kirsty on Govan road was actually Kirsty the route most probably taken would have been over the squinty bridge (the arc ) though from the looks of things at least 2 cameras would have picked this up .

I would have thought the police would have sent out more appeals for the the other people in the CCTV still to see what they could remember . That particular area oh Glasgow isn't nice to walk in daylight so it would be downright scary in the dark

I think I get what you mean. No quotes to the media from friends who were there etc? There might be a few reasons for that; due to it being a 'Deaf Booze Crew' weekend, I think perhaps there was a lot of people out with her or in her company rather than just a night out with a couple of specific friends. I think it's an opportunity for the deaf community to meet up and make new friends and catch up with old ones. Also, there would be communication issues and I'm not sure how ethical it would be for the media to question vulnerable adults?

Have the police actually acknowledged this sighting in the media? As from what I got from the article I'd read about it, it was a search party organised by her friends that discovered the possible sighting then I never seen anything else. Sorry if I've missed the update about it.

Thank you, I hadn't seen that one!

I noticed they don't really mention the sighting specifically though and reiterate that the last confirmed sighting was at the broomielaw on Sunday and that's where they are focusing their efforts on - seems like they maybe have reason to believe that it's not a reliable lead?

Sorry for bombarding this thread with posts but I have been reading kirsty s Facebook and if this isn't allowed please delete but in Aug 2014 there are posts about kirsty being threatened / blackmailed by an ex which drove her to a nervous breakdown . She was going to the police etc :( I wonder if this was still a person she was having trouble with :/

Yes I agree they definitely seem to be focusing on the Broomielaw sighting . There were other people visable in the CCTV still that's the part I'm surprised they haven't appealed more to witnesses though people's memories definitely get clouded after a night out :) .

Yes that's what I mean :) yes I think your right about the type of event etc . I just hope and hope she is found safe soon

Recent history shows Strathclyde police know exactly what they are doing and I suspect they know more than what they are letting on.

I noticed the post where they seemed to completely and confidently dismiss (imo) the other sighting and reemphasised the last known confirmed broomielaw sighting, I think they know she didn't leave that area. If she isn't on the other cctvs that narrows it down.

I keep going back to the image and there are 2 people in the photo, they don't look suspicious but I'm wondering if police are circulating it trying to get the men to come forward for a purpose.

Yeah I agree, I guess they have to be careful though so as not to implicate innocent people but you are right, the information they are releasing is limited.

I have a lot of faith in the Greater Glasgow Police Division though - they have done excellent work recently bringing closure to families especially in difficult cases like Karen Buckley's and Paige Doherty's. So I'm confident they know what they are doing behind the scenes.

Oh and we are allowed to discuss Kirsty's Facebook. Just not family, friends etc.

This is similar to what they done with Alexander Pacteau, released his image but claimed he wasn't a suspect to put the pressure on.

Yes I agree . I think they know she is within that area one way or another . Yes on one image the person in the still beside Kirsty is looking at a telephone hopefully they may come forward to say if they saw anything though may not remember depending on alcohol consumption 😉

Please don't bring rumors from other forums here to Websleuths. Thanks!

I know everyone's intentions are good, but let's focus on the facts and help find Kirsty :)

Literally like half of her friends have their profile picture changed to her picture. The last time i saw that many people supporting by changing their profile picture was when William Tyrrell and Baby DeOrr Kunz went missing.

Here is Kirsty's own FB page, look at her friends list - so many have changed their profile picture to a photo of her.

I really feel the police know what happened, I am just not getting the same sense of urgency as with other cases.
They have enquiries to make and ofcourse they have an open mind.
But I really feel there is a lack of appeals, new information etc...

I can only assume she is sadly in the river.

Karen's case was in Glasgow and Paige's case in Dumbarton area near Glasgow both are under the Strathclyde Police force.

I don't mean to be pedantic, but a couple of years ago all the separate Scottish police forces merged to become one force - Police Scotland.
Strathclyde Police no longer exists, however Karen and Paige's cases were both dealt with by the Glasgow Division of Police Scotland.
