I'm thinking that with Leah's walk to work, it's not like it's walking a mile down a straight road...hard for someone to get the timing right if they want to accidentally on purpose run into her to offer her a lift?

I'm a bit concerned about a stranger using an "I've lost my dog" kind of ruse.

Am not so familiar with Furzton, but know/ remember Willen Lake well........in addition to the car park at Willen, there are other areas where you can ( or could, this is from memory, years back ) pull off the pathway and park between overhanging trees... would be easy enough for someone who knows her route and usual time of departure from home , to park up there from say 8am and wait.

All great points. And if it was someone she knows, would they not also be missing? Or at least (the culprit) be later to their own work, or school place, on the day in question?

Have any of the LE put out any calls to the public about noticing anyone, or anything unusual? In the States they will usually ask the public to be aware of habits, hairstyles, or any other changes that might be 'flags'. Selling a car, washing/cleaning a car for a long duration. Things that might make people go, hmmmm?

There has to be something they can work on to figure this out. This young woman needs to be found. I really do hope she is safe 'out there'.

Whatever LE is doing, behind the scenes, and out of sight, feels quiet to me. All MHO.

No, there have been no direct appeals of that nature from LE. The only appeals that have been made concern sightings of Leah and any cctv or dashcam footage that may of been captured.
IMO I think LE are withholding information from the public for investigative purposes. They may even possibly have a suspect on their radar and by keeping the information released into the public domain to a minimum, they are trying to avoid alerting the perpetrator.

In a case in the US (Savannh Spurlock) the photo mostly shown is a blond glamour shot, full mke-up...when they finally showed a pic from the night she was last seen, she has brown hair, and looks nothing like the blonde image...yet they keep showing that one, when they cover her case at all...so stupid and unhelpful.

Yes, they did the same thing with Claudia Lawrence - used an earlier photo with blonde highlights even though she had been brunette for months.

Members of the public will continue to see police activity in the city, as our searches continue at Teardrop Lake and areas of Shenley Lodge.

Seems like they reckon Leah might have gone up through that underpass into the eastern corner of Shenley Lodge, from where there are paths all the way to work. Just having a look round there, what's the big round thing, a sundial? (see link)

Google Maps

There's a store near there. Could it have captured something on CCTV?

Am I right in saying that on the CCTV footage of Leah arriving at work on Valentine’s Day she is NOT carrying the black rucksack that she has on the following morning?

I honestly don't think you can tell either way. I assume if the 15/2 rucksack was unusual then they would have said so. My impression has been that it's the bag she carried to work, which to me would fit with a regular walker. Carrying any other kind of bag on a long walk is a pain. It was also described as 'small'.

I'm a relative newbie sleuther here, so forgive me if this sounds like a silly question but:
What are the police intimating when they ask local people to check their gardens, garages and sheds?

They always ask to have that done in the U.S. in case the person looked for shelter, or was a victim and later hidden in a shed, etc...I know of at least one case where a body was found in an abandoned house.

Oh well spotted Stella8! I wonder if she usually had the black rucksack? Does it look particularly full?

So where was it on Valentine's Day?

To me it looks full for just a day at the office! Especially for such a long walk to work. I’m wondering was she planning to go somewhere after/ is it sports gear or is it an overnight bag

Could be but she may carry another pair of shoes in it, ones to just wear in the office. Maybe her packed lunch etc. She doesn't have a hand bag (purse to US friends) so anything anyone would normally carry in one of those could be in the back pack.

Maybe I am just too old, but is it possible that this is someone known to her who she was not communicating with on social media? I mean, when I was that age, I had a lot of friends/acquaintances that my parents or even other friends of mine didn't know - so no one would have known to question them if i was missing. I know that they say she was on social media a lot, but are there simply people who knew her from social circles, in passing, etc. who could have done something to her?

Nothing new today? Always sad to see a lull in a thread when we all want to see progress...I'm always behind since I am in the U.S. but often follow cases in the UK.
