In the SC case, it came out that RAT took people to a 'caravan by a lake' which was his getaway place. I'm sure this came from one of the younger guys Taylor was frequenting with at the time. Two early twenty guys that worked with RAT.

I found another set of sketches for the R29 abductor that was released at the time ....

The one in the middle looks most like the guy that tried to pull me over in Stafford VA

Am I imagining things, or didn't we determine that Alexis was linked (maybe romantically) with the younger person with initials RT? Just wondering if the various Taylors are related if it's such a small-town area.

(I'm not suggesting sleuthing the "RT JR" who is not *the* RT, but didn't RT JR (kid with ballcap) have a legitimate link to Alexis anyway? To be fair, this may only be 'provable' via social media but I could swear it was mentioned last night.)

I think at this point they would accept any help they could get. They came down with Morgan Harrington early on I thought. They have a lot of terrain to cover. If they were using boy scouts volunteers why would they not accept the help of a nationally recognized search party?
With this guy, they need to make sure everything is exactly perfect. He was so indignant about LE planting evidence on him after he was a suspect in the Samantha Clarke case, and while there was no requirement for GPS trackers back in those days, a court found the GPS tracker LE put on his car at that time to be illegal. LE does not want anything, especially evidence, to even accidentally get messed up, but by the same token, more people means more areas that can be searched.

That article was interesting. I had never read it. IMO Rice looks nothing like the sketch though.

Rice, I remember reading in an article someone posted on here a few days ago was suggested as possible poi in professor from sweetbriar that was found in James River here in Amherst... this is local to nelson... it was deemed suicide but no one around here believed that...

RAT living here, I believe is because he moved here... RT jr was linked to AM because he is a friend on her FB page and was a classmate at her school before graduating... and with the school being so small... (I graduated from there) everyone knows everyone... believe me... I think there is absolutely no family link between the two, imho... it was hypothozied before knowledge of RAT, when there was only the name randy taylor, that the teen RT could have been the white kid she was rumored to have been seen walking around with in the area of 29 by cannery loop over the past few months.. but that was just rumor nothing confirmed... so again.. I honestly do not believe that RAT has any family connection with the teen RT or his father...

I t will be interesting (IMO) to hear from any recent friends/acquaintances/etc. who can give:

1. Details of his recent whereabouts...

2. what he is like... Behavior/attitude//etc.

But... I wonder if he is just a loner...

I imagine there is tons of icky stuff on his computer...

But...Tatt Cat RAT may not be very tech savvy if he allowed AM's phone to be carried so close to his home... Most perps know now that that is one of the FIRST things to do to avoid detection... Get rid of the phone... And/or completely trash it...

all JMO...

No... it should be removed. JMO

JMO too, but it is there for comparison.

The guy is a fugitive and if his only relation to our RAT is that he has the same name, then that is the least of his worries.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that this perps initials spell RAT? I just keep thinking 'how fitting!':floorlaugh:

Moxie, to answer a question you asked, yes, they must have some proof to arrest him. It also takes some proof to get a search warrant. I'm sure they had warrants when they did the searches that were reported in the media a few days ago. They don't need as much proof for a warrant. Perhaps having him on camera at the gas station and having her phone ping in his house would be enough. For the arrest, they likely had to connect him to her car or connect her to his truck or home. That could have been through him having possession of something that belonged to her (the phone, clothing, etc.). The connection also could be through forensic evidence such as prints or DNA. The latter could come from hair, skin cells or body fluids. I'm not sure they could process DNA evidence that quickly.

I don't see any scratches on this guy. But you can't see his body in the pic. It sounds like he carried a gun. So that might explain why someone with the athleticism of Alexis would not be able to run from him.

He is not a fugitive. He was arrested 5-8-2013 in NC on a fugitive warrant and is 42 years old. I searched on Arrests.org in the advanced search at the bottom of the page and found his info.

@jelly - those perp sketches don't resemble RAT IMO. :/ The one on the bottom right does but not the top three.

Thats fine, it's your opinion.

It is the earliest sketches of the R29 abductor. The one on the bottom right is one done a year or two later and was linked back when the bottom right one was released. I think it tells you this in the poster.

Comparison to what though? It's lined up there as though it's the same guy.

It was put up this morning....sleuthed and removed. Just wondering why its back

Okay, if he is in the jail thats fine.

IMO I see a resemblance and have used all my words carefully in the posts I have made about this to back up the dates being 'wrong'.

Time will tell.

It was legal at the time they placed it, they didn't need a warrant ,however at the time of his hearing the supreme court had ruled the practice of placing a GPS as one that mandates a warrant. Timing is everything.

If RAT is the person seen talking to Alexis by the store clerk, and we think about all the route 29 women, isn't it possible that as she started to pull out of the store lot he could have waved/flagged/flashed his lights & told her something was wrong with her car like the 29 stalker? It would make sense, IMO

BINGO!

My thoughts exactly. Her being 17, she could have thought nothing about pulling over for some older guy trying to be helpful.

No. Once you pull away from the gas station, and head down the highway it's quieter, but, at the gas station, it's very congested. The only McDonalds in the county is there (usually full on the weekends), a multibay gas station/very popular convenience store for the local teens, a major supermarket and dollar store, and right across the highway is an Exxon. And, people even hang out in the supermarket parking lot on the weekends in the evenings. Plus, there's a stop light and there's always traffic there, so whatever happened transpired once she pulled down the highway, IMO, and it gets much quieter as you head north like a creepy horror movie. What I want to know is whether this creep followed her to Charlottesville. If he's a serial stalker/killer, he may not have known much about her like one would think, given her social media profile. If she just looked like prey, he could have just followed her to town and if she pulled off the highway on 29 business to make a call or whatever... just guessing since her car was found at a place familiar to her, but no, gas station itself is too crowded for any violent encounter to go unnoticed. If she raised her voice at all, someone at that location would have heard it, but not down the highway, in the evening.

Ok, his name and the distinct three frown lines at the bridge of his nose are my main two.

Can you show me proof that that 42 year old in the mugshot had that picture taken in the last three months?
I'm trying to say that mugshot was taken in 2006/7. If it wasn't, you should be able to find the crime he was wanted for quite easily.
