POI JM sped off because he didn't want to found.

We got us a runner.

.

It's definitely shady that JM's dog popcorn wasn't at his apartment when they did a second search. Especially considering the landlord said she'd watch the dog sometimes. So where's the dog? Where's JM? He's hiding out with popcorn somewhere. I think he knew he was gonna bolt. They need to watch his family. Seems that might be the way to find him.
I think it shows he is very responsible in caring and providing for his dog popcorn when he realised he needed to get away for a time.:fence:

Don't worry, your biggest mistake is being a Newcastle supporter. Just kidding of course

Oh don't I know that. A lifetime of pain. Both Alreetlike and myself have done something really bad in a previous life to get stuck with Newcastle United lol

Again, LE isn't going to be so adamant and brazen about his involvement if they didn't have evidence to support their suspicion. The DA would NOT let that happen if it wasn't pretty clear who committed this crime. JMO.

Don't you think if they had that evidence there would be no reason to be so adamant and brazen? He would announce an arrest and then put on the show for the media...

I've read some posts theorizing sex trafficking. What evidence leads to this conclusion?

Or she knew him from before, recognized him and called his name so he turned around and said "oh hey Hannah" and put his arm around her waist. Also plausible. Too bad surveillance video doesn't have sound.

He is the one who changed directions and approached. If he knew her I would think he would have called out her name when he is cutting through the middle she was much closer to him at that time (He may have but she didn't hear him but I doubt it). Also if they knew each other I would think she would have saw him cutting through the middle.

A person on her said they have a friend who works with him and they said he is creepy around girls and has no sense of personal space. I think he likely forced himself onto HG and HG didn't fight him off instead she plastered a fake smile on her face.

6. I don't know the difference between covert and overt
7. JM's dog's name is Popcorn

...don't overtly admit to your misunderstanding...
People might think you're trying to be covert...

But why would LE expect JM to give them the evidence to charge him??

But if we're all supposed to operate under the assumption that the dude is innocent until proven guilty, why WOULD'NT he help the police advance the case. So many here think this guy is innocent for whatever reason: he doesn't look creepy, he's a good Christian guy, he has a job, he said he left Hannah after Tempo, he coaches youth sports and some people think he's great are some of the reasons I've seen cited here. But it seems like the same people who are saying he is likely innocent are saying, "why should he sit down and help the police charge him. Why would he say anything!"

SO my question is this: is he an innocent good Christian youth sports coach with a job and doesn't happen to look creepy, or is he someone who shouldn't help the police charge him? It can't be both ways, so posters saying both things really confuses me. If he is truly innocent, why WOULDN'T he provide the police with his knowledge of that night? Not only could it help save Hannah's life if she is still alive, but it could also clear his name if he did not do anything to her. The information he provides could lead him to the real perp so why isn't he giving up the info?

Major speculation here but I am wondering if there is any significance to the fact that forensics aren't in yet. I am a scientist who does DNA analysis but certainly not in criminal cases. As someone pointed out earlier, DNA analyses can sometimes be completed quite speedily, depending on sample conditions and of course lab priority. Let's say that 40 items of evidence were taken from JM's car and residence. DNA comparisons are being run , run, and run, and so far, there are no matches to HG. I can't help but think if there *had* been a hit, it would be known by now; whereas no hit means re-sampling, re-amplifying, and re-running the comparison. 100% deep-fried speculation, but still.

THANKS for being here! It would be great if you would be a verified specialist for the Websleuth forums. I don't know how you do that but someone here can tell you..it's just being verified by MODS, I think. Please do! JMO

Really...
It's Manchester all the way....
I wouldn't be the least covert wearing their jersey...hehehe

IMO he will eventually say something once he scrapes together the money for a lawyer who will help him say it.

I don't think it means anything necessarily. I am sure they are doing way more than just DNA analysis and often they can't all be done at the same time and there is an order because one test can ruin it for another. Sure, if you are just matching prints, you may get results fast, or just DNA. But, if you are checking for useable prints, trace, hair and fiber, DNA, fluids, etc, then it takes many people and many tests that cannot all be done at the same time. And they prefer to get all results back before acting on them.

You left out "cognitive dissonance" as a reason some folks think he is innocent. JMO.

I'm not trying to be snarky... but previous posts and threads address these questions over and over and both "sides" don't seem to be coming to any sort of agreement.

I agree. If he is a innocent caring Christian then come forward and tell LE some info.

Looks are deceiving. Ted Bundy worked for a suicide prevention hotline before he started on his serial murders. He was seen as a model citizen.
