I've been pondering one of DE's statements to police, and the more I think about it, the more it seems like he is admitting guilt. Whether unknowingly or not.

"Eisenhauer replied that they should be “looking for a dead body rather than trying to interview the last person to see her alive,” Twigger said."

Hasn't he just admitted to police that he was the last person to see her alive?
Hasn't he admitted that he knows Nicole is dead?

Isn't this tantamount to an admission of guilt or to direct knowledge of the crime? ETA: In my opinion, he is definitely done for.

Oh my your right

When police asked him what he thought police should be doing, Eisenhauer replied that they should be “looking for a dead body rather than trying to interview the last person to see her alive,” Twigger said. He then stopped talking and requested an attorney.

What a smart *advertiser censored** comment. WAS HE DARING THE POLICE TO CATCH HIM AT THIS POINT? Omg he thought he was so smart

How can you have a romantic walk with a huge snow storm and three feet of snow on the ground?

Going through with "their plan" during this snow storm and the extra obstacles because of it shows there was some sense of urgency for DE to get rid of his problem.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...e61a22-1d59-11e6-8c7b-6931e66333e7_story.html

Keepers told police that she helped plan Nicole’s death but was not present when Eisenhauer took the girl into the woods under the guise of a romantic walk.

Do you have a link for this? Every source I've read states NK is charged with accessory before the fact and with concealing the body, nothing about murder in the first degree, for example see link below:

Can someone explain to me why DE cleaned the blood off of NL's body? I haven't been able to figure out the point in doing that.

That is strange. Maybe he thought it would help not get blood in his vehicle, but I read Nicole's blood was found in his car. Some serial killers clean their victims. I can't get into his mind, nor Keepers either. Why did she want Nicole's Minions blanket and her cell phone? Creepy weirdos!

I just checked on it by doing a search for Keepers here: http://www.courts.state.va.us/caseinfo/home.html

(Click on 'Case Information' under the Circuit Court heading---about halfway down the page---then choose 'Montgomery County' and select 'Begin'.)

This is what popped up:

Thanks for posting! Weird that all the news accounts got it wrong, at least the ones I read. ETA: I'm glad she is being charged with murder.

So based on the charges listed above, I'm wondering if perhaps the investigators have evidence that NK actually was present at the murder. Otherwise, how would they be able to charge her with first degree murder?
"If you are present as a crime occurs and help, encourage or advise the person committing the crime you may face a type of crime called accessory in the second degree. If you are charged as an accessory before the fact or accessory in the second degree, you may face the same punishments as if you had committed the crime yourself. Depending on the crime committed, punishments will vary greatly. For example, if you helped someone commit a first-degree murder, you could be charged with first-degree murder as well and face similar punishments."

I'm not sure how to highlight text on here, but the phrase "if you helped someone commit a first -degree murder, you could be charged with first-degree murder as well" So are they saying that helping plan the murder is the same as being there during the murder, in terms of charges filed?

carrying over a post from thread one about the original charges and criminal codes that govern them. Some of the below no longer applies to Natalie Keepers as one of her charges has been dropped. This was simply research I did when they were originally charged as some of the charging docs listed the actual code each was being charged under. Still looking for the docs that contained the codes along with the named charges.

Press release regarding original charges

Here’s the full news release issued by Blacksburg police:
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Blacksburg Police have made a second arrest in the abduction and murder of Nicole M. Lovell, who went missing from her Blacksburg, Va., residence Jan. 27, 2016. Natalie M. Keepers, 19, is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail on one felony count of improper disposal of a dead body (Code of Virginia 18.2-323.02) and one misdemeanor count of accessory after the fact in the commission of a felony (Code of Virginia 18.2-19). Keepers, a Virginia Tech student from Laurel, Md., was arrested Sunday (Jan. 31) morning.
On Saturday afternoon (Jan. 30), the four-day search for the missing 13-year-old Blacksburg girl came to an end. At approximately 4 p.m. Saturday, Virginia State Police located Nicole’s remains near Route 89, in Surry County, N.C. With the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, FBI Charlotte, N.C., Field Office, and the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office, her remains arrived early Sunday morning (Jan. 31) at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke, Va., for autopsy and examination.
David E. Eisenhauer, 18, is also being held at the Montgomery County Jail without bond. The Columbia, Md., native was arrested Saturday on one felony count of first degree murder and one felony count of abduction.
Based on the evidence collected to date, investigators have determined that Eisenhauer and Nicole were acquainted prior to her disappearance. Eisenhauer used this relationship to his advantage to abduct the 13-year-old and then kill her. Keepers helped Eisenhauer dispose of Nicole’s body.
The investigation into Nicole’s abduction and death remains very active as investigators continue to pursue roughly 300 leads generated during the course of the past five days. The Blacksburg Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Christiansburg Police, City of Radford Police, Virginia Tech Police, Virginia State Police, ATF and FBI.
Investigators are still encouraging the public to come forward with any information concerning Nicole Lovell, David Eisenhauer and/or, now, Natalie Keepers to contact the Blacksburg Police Department at 540-961-1150.

If she assisted both with the planning before and disposal/cover up after I think she may face 1st degree murder just like DE does.

Can someone explain to me why DE cleaned the blood off of NL's body? I haven't been able to figure out the point in doing that.

I am guessing trying to destroy evidence but being clueless.

Maybe this tells something. Check out the offense and arrests dates.

And with wipes, seems tedious! I tend to agree with those that suggest he did it because he was trying to keep his car blood-free and she was probably a mess. Maybe that's why he undressed her that night -- because her clothes were saturated and he didn't want that transferring. I can picture him being anal about his car.

How principals in second degree and accessories before the fact punished.

They put her in the trunk of his car at the murder scene. When they got to where they dumped her in NC, DE removed her clothes and washed her with bleach...IMO to try to remove DNA. According to NK he concentrated on her neck and hands.

Police say that Keepers told then after Eisenhauer killed Lovell, he picked Keepers up, the two turned their phones off and drove to the Craig Creek area. Hite testified that Keepers told him that the purpose of that trip was to move Lovell's body. When she walked into the woods she told police she saw a dead girl, with her legs partially covered with snow, and lots of blood. From there, Keepers said she and Eisenhauer dragged the body down a hill and into a trunk, Hite testified.

From there, she told police she and Eisenhauer drove to North Carolina, stopping at a Wal-Mart in Wytheville to buy cleaning supplies. Once in North Carolina, Hite testifed that Keepers told them Eisenhauer took Lovell's body out of the trunk, took off her clothes and cleaned her with bleach, paying special attention to her hands a neck.

What the heck?

NK's 1st degree murder offense date is 1/4/16.
DE's 1st degree murder offense date is 1/30/16.

I wonder what that could mean?

Only a guess...

DE's 1st degree murder offense/arrest is 1/30/16. This is when Nicole's body was found. He has denied killing, hence the 1/30 dates.

NK's 1st degree murder offense is 1/4/16. That is when they returned from winter break and she has admitted that they started to conspire the plan. Her arrest date for this is 2/2/16. This must be after they confirmed all of her story and she drove around with LE showing them all the spots, collected evidence and then charged.

The other dates for both are the date of the murder and when they were picked up and arrested.
