I'm wondering if this happened upstairs. I was a rowdy kid but I would never in a million years have snuck a boy in my room when it was on the same floor as my parent's room.
I think the floor plan showed all the bedrooms upstairs.

From the floor plan link, it looks almost like she's had to have let him in the door. If you go to the Redfin links, the way it looks, her bedroom was either downstairs on the lowest level (one article talked about blood spatters in an office, iirc), with the office, and there's a door there, or, it's on the upper floor, and I think the windows would be too high. The deck seems accessible to the Master Bedroom but not so much, to the other bedrooms. Some of the plans are flipped so you have to visualize them upside down. I downloaded some of them to flip them on my laptop.

ETA: There are five bedrooms. Four all together on one floor and one on the lowest floor, with the office/den space that walks out onto the patio, from what I can tell.

Those are pretty nice windows and doors too. Sliding doors are quiet as well.

Oh, and me too, rowdy kid, but I'd never dreamed of sneaking a boy in my room! I'd much rather got caught sneaking out or in. To get caught bringing a boy in, would have been unforgivable. I doubt I ever could have looked them in the eyes. I never even partied there if they left me alone. But I was so willful, that I had to break free. I just couldn't help it. I respected my parents enough that I didn't want them to know what I was doing but I just had to do it.

On another site a 'friend' states that the boy was ordered by a judge that he could not use the internet for a specificed time period perhaps the reason he was using his sister's phone. More enabling.

The parent's knew that he was still accessing the Internet, because Ms Fricker told them. If the sister was willingly lending him her phone, they should have prevented it. He must have been looking at illegal stuff online, using it to defraud or threatening people. A judge does not ban people from the Internet unless it seriously being abused.

That lower level one is where I would put guests to give them more privacy. When I visit my friend in MD, I stay in the semi basement area (like this house) where I have my own bathroom and a small kitchenette where I can make toast and coffee at any hour without disturbing her.

He may have been threatening to kill himself and the girlfriend trying to talk him out of it.

Yet why do you need a hammer and knife to commit suicide ? The gun will do it if you shoot in the right place .

Some friends of mine who had 4 teenagers close together in age, knew that they had had a party while they (the parent's) were away, because the house had been cleaner when they came home than when they left it. They knew that their kids wouldn't do that unless there was a terrible mess.

I did say threatening. Often people who threaten suicide are being manipulative.

Dispatcher: “Caller is upstairs with her boyfriend.”
Officer: “Shot fired.”
Dispatcher: “Scene is advising shots fired.”
Seconds later, police found the 17-year old boyfriend with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officer: “We’re going to be upstairs, second level. The house isn’t cleared yet. I think we have the shooter down.”

That's what I'd do as well, and, if she were mine, I'd want her as close as possible. OP said her parents had her sleep in their bedroom. I wish I'd thought of that one. The only thing I'm wondering about is iirc, a relative heard something and alerted the parents. I think there's a kitchen down there. Maybe they'd put her there to give a relative a double bed, and she let him in on that level. The relative came down for something to snack on, and heard something. Went up and alerted the parents.

I can't put my hands on the link but I thought I'd read that there was blood on the office walls. I think there's an office on that same level.

At that stage they would not have know that what appeared to be the second level, was actually the third level.

Then that would be the bedroom level where there's four bedrooms. That poor, poor, little boy. :(

keep in mind the furnishings are from the previous homeowner. Any room could be the office

This is true, but, if you look at level 2, my goodness these two are very, well, I don't know that "brave" would be the word for it, but, and I was a Hellion, and NO. WAY.

I can't get my pics to upload but here's the link, again. Level 2 is a tight space.

I know! My bedroom was on the lower floor with a walkout and my wild self snuck out but never brought a boy to my room (no matter how much they begged lol)

Those two items... They are out of place, when you have magazines, and ammo.

If i'm looking at the floor plan right, it is appx 16 feet from the master to the furthest BR.

Brazen.

Yeah, it's a tricky floor plan but I don't see a way in on the front, other than front door and that's a big no. Nothing on the sides. So that means he comes in on the lower level, in the back, where the kitchen and all are at, and a nice, quiet, sliding door, or somehow came in through the back, on the 2nd level, and I can only see that way in, through the screened section. If I'm looking at it right.

I don't think that sliding doors are that silent. I have both kinds of doors in my house and sliding doors are heavier and wider and make more noise than my opening doors. You can control opening a swing door, you cannot do that with a sliding door.

Some are, some aren't. Mine are pretty quiet. My parent's were the older ones from the 70s.. They made more noise. I went out my bedroom window, but, it was difficult to get back inside in my window the way the window was made. So, I'd unlock the sliding door, go out my window, and come back in the sliding door. I figured out, just how to lift it, and pull, at the right speed, to make it open, just enough for me to squeeze through. I was kinda tall and and on the skinny side, so I didn't have to open it all the way. Where there is a will, there is a way.

On the very first level, there is a set of double doors according to the plans. That opens up to a small foyer/hall, make a right and you head upstairs to the 2nd level, bedrooms. I wonder which room was hers. I'm thinking one of the two facing front. 13x12 or 15 x 12. The 13x12 may have been the office they spoke of.
