:tantrum: This late in the day, I am concerned, too. My mind is racing. What if the jurors who asked all the pro-prosecution questions were dismissed, or were made alternates??? Are we now left with another Pinellas 12? This cannot be happening!!! If the jury gets this verdict wrong, and JA walks, then I give up. :banghead: :stormingmad:

Okay ... I am outta here. It is getting crazy, paranoid in here. Luv you all, but I can't take the stress. See ya after the verdict.

Meanwhile I'm praying for justice for Travis. Hugs to all!

My DH is an electrical engineer & he thinks Jodi is as vile as I do! Engineers tend to be logical, so I think that would be an asset to any jury.

Mine is a civil engineer. When I'm ready for a new appliance, it has to be broken, or I can forget it. Just the fact that it's 20 years old isn't good enough. He's just too damn logical!

I'm not worried about getting a 1st degree conviction yet, but I have to admit... I'm feeling sad and disappointed.

I really thought we'd have a verdict today. :sigh:

I'm going nuts waiting. I can't imagine how TA's family is feeling!

Well, looks like no verdict today. Feels like a punch in the gut. Pouring a glass of wine to calm my nerves. Hopefully tomorrow is the day. :jail:

Mrs. Norris you make a really good point about something. Folks we have to remember something. These jurors sat and listened to this trial for 4 months!!!!! 4 MONTHS!!!!??? And listened to Jodi for 18 days!! And during that entire 4 months the jurors were not able to talk to anyone! NO ONE about this trial. They couldn't unload on their spouses when they got home or their boyfriend, girlfriend, or parents. For the first time they get to finally talk about their thoughts on what they have heard the last 4 months. More than likely they spent a few hours just unloading and venting.

My guess is that we will have a verdict sometime after lunch tomorrow. Hopefully the deliberations won't go into Wednesday and I hope they don't go for 2nd degree murder. It would be a travesty of justice if Jodi was ever let out, even after serving a 25 years.

If JA were credible it would take some time to sort out her story; but the JA story is not complicated. You have some alleged hitting as a teenager.
You have 4 instances of abuse from TA. There is a lot of peripheral sex. Then the coup de grace ie the saga in the bathroom on June 4.

The deliberation is not complex. JA killed TA. Was it premeditated or not. IF NO then do you believe JA ? Did TA pose a threat to JA?
Do you believe JA's account with the gun?

Even if yes does any of this justify composite thrust with a knife to the back? Even so how can anyone justify a deep slice to the neck?

This is not complex.

The way to think about this crime X3 should NOT take a long time to reason your way between M1 and M2.

If they cannot decide a M1 vs M2 in one day given pure premeditation vs felony murder then we are in for disappointment later on.

Ugghhh.

I got a lot done today. I collimated my telescope for imaging galaxies tonight. I made pulled pork in my crockpot. I set a personal record playing frisbee golf on the Wii. I did 6 Myers-Briggs interpretations and 1 CPI. All of that was a direct result of nervous energy related to the verdict.

Is anyone else finding themselves looking for things to do that will keep you busy, but not actually interfere with keeping watch for any new developments?

Fellow astronomer, here! :D What's yer scope?

Yep, me too! Later gators!

I agree. Before anyone works themselves up, just remember, they are in there with those autopsy photos. The pictures tell the story.

WE all know those autopsy photos show Murder 1, Premeditated. But... what if one of the jurors thinks the autopsy photos show a frenzied, chaotic, crime of passion manslaughter, as Nurmi suggested in his closing argument? I'm about to cry in a fit of frustration! :stormingmad:

And they got to ask hundreds of questions. I get that they aren't going to come back in 10 minutes...but sheesh what is there really to deliberate for this long? Well, I just hope for the best.

If they were all convinced of M1 the initial vote would have been unanimous. Obviously that isn't the case.... The longer it goes, the less I like it.... I vaccilate from minute to minute with my feelings. I want to hope.

Yes, they do have a lot of notes to read, but the top charge is what they need to decide first. Did she kill him? Did she plan it? If everyone agrees, that's it. No need to belabor the other points of the case. IMO, and is MO correct? I just don't get what they could be hung up on as far as Murder 1
