I guess we will just have to disagree. She will adapt, and make a life in prison. Given these two options as the only choice, she won. Not to mention, she more than likely feels that she may still have a chance at getting out, someday.
On the other hand, if she gets death, she becomes a celebrity of sorts. She'd probably be featured in any number of death-penalty themed documentaries and such, not to mention much interest in her appeals. If she get LWOP, she is no longer interesting to anybody and she'll just disappear in there. I don't even want to entertain the possibility that she could get LWP.

Other jurors do it day in and day out all across our country when meting out punishment.

The problem with this case is biases. The defendant is a white female and her victim is a male which usually ends in the jury giving the female life or hanging. Never mind that the crime is just as heinous or moreso as when they were committed by males who are on death row. I don't think we will ever see gender equality in our justice system.

If this had been a male defendant the penalty of death verdict would have already been back.

IMO

Of course it's not right, but we knew it was an uphill battle because of this going in. I honestly don't understand why people are surprised at this outcome. Once I saw how this phase proceeded, it was obvious to me there was no way.

This is exactly what JA craves. Knowing she gets to people. Please don't allow her to get to you or anyone for that matter. We have no control over the jurors. They really have been working hard. Regardless of the outcome, JA will be in prison forever. She wants to portray this doesn't effect her, that is pure BS. Locked up like a caged animal for the rest of her life.

Hugs to you, Hope.

((((Angel))))) I honestly don't care what the killer thinks. What I care about, and have cared about enough from the very beginning, enough to suck me in this deep, is that her lies about the man she murdered be disbelieved, and I care that she not be allowed to continue tormenting the family of the man she murdered. That's it.

If the judge has to sentence her, I just hope she does it immediately and not put it off for yet another time. Give this family some closure!

If this was reversed the dp would have been handed down and carried out in the same time frame.

Even if she has decent food and friends (criminals by the way!) it's still prison. For life. That sounds pretty hellish to me.

The ***** will be 50, 60, 70. An ugly 50, 60, 70 (not like you lovely ladies) with no botox, no nothing. What does she have "5-10" years in prison before a new thang comes in and steals her shine?

If it's not the needle, I'll somehow make my peace with it. She's going to die in prison anyways.

Lol apparently if you have a different opinion on the matters you get called a *advertiser censored**** b**** over private message for no reason. I am floored. Acting like children.

I'm really sorry that happened to you. Someone owes you an apology.

As disappointing as this all is right now because we want TA family to finally be at peace as much as they can, we are very lucky folks they convicted her. Remember Casey A?

I have been saying this all week and now that the time is here, I'm very angry. Like someone else said, what else did this murderer have to do?
Be a man. Seriously. I blame it on allowing all the lies about Travis being allowed into the trial. It didn't help that his best friends wrote those damn emails. If those weren't there, JA couldn't have come up with this crazy defense and she would be on death row. The H family had no way of knowing but their words were used to create the entire defense strategy.

It's not like if she gets the DP that they walk her out the room and they inject her ( we can dream though )
but more like in her 60's
That's the way it should be, as it was in the 'old days' judge says you have been found guilty of murder in the first degree and have been sentenced to death. Dons black cap and says further 'you will be taken from this court to the (gallows) where you will be (hung by the neck until you are dead) and may God have mercy on your soul. (Paraphrasing of course but that's the way it used to be and I for one would have liked that to have happened in this case to the evil, murdering, manipulative, lying ***** named Arias!!)

Let's remember we don't know what the divide is with the jury. Lots of people seem to be running with 8-4. For all we know it could be 11-1, making it much easier to get that one juror on board with DP.

Not if it is the one who said on first day she would like to switch out with an alternate. I think that person knew from the get go they could never vote death. JMO

She will definitely see this as a win.

She will smile in evil satisfaction and think she still 'has it' and can still manipulate people into believing her lies.

:seeya:

BBM: Good point !

I can't think right now ... I am so upset ... And yes, JA will see it as a "win" if she does not get the DP !

Excuse my language, but she won ****. If they hang, she just lost a different way then she would have lost otherwise. LWOP or DP, rock and a hard place. After the guilty verdict the only thing left for her to do was decide HOW she was going to lose, the conditions of her loss if you must: do we lock you up for life or do we kill you? There's no winning there.

I bet Travis family would pick to have him locked up for life over what he got! So yea there is a difference at least IMO. Again I say if she were a man, if casey anthony had been a man and not white women, they would both be on death row now.

#jodiarias is escorted out and smiles to her side.

hope she enjoys that holding room with NOTHING but her thoughts

... and the rest of her life spent in the company of felons, rejected by society as a whole - the world over, in fact. Her smile is as phony as she is.

He will survive. This is not about Juan. As much as I like him and think he is awesome it has little to do with him. The Alexanders want the DP because the want the worst for JA. and who can blame them? I don't.
I think LWOP will be worse for her in the long run. No notoriety, no special treatment, no direct appeal. I think that in the end her living 50 years behind bars is the perfect punishment.

I think the Alexanders think the way I do- the just thing is to let the punishment fit the crime. Who can blame them. Since they are the ones most affected by his loss I think the Jury should know what their wishes are and consider that in their decision. The rest of us are just observers, in favor of this or that penalty.

I've been thinking about this. There has to be someone there who is more evil than this murderer, someone who's been there for a very long time, someone who is there for LWOP, I just don't think the murderer will have an easy time in prison. There will be someone there she won't be able to charm.

Absolutely AND someone with horrible grammar. She's a dead woman walking.

all i can think of if this jury hangs is what a bloody waste of the taxpayers money to end up just where they left off at the original trial. does the jury realize this woman will most likely NEVER be put to actual death and it's more about isolation vs. being a little sociopathic butterfly in prison, manipulating people left and right and having lots of friends and perhaps over the years being the big wig of a gang?
