thank you for posting your map again texaslil! (it makes me scratch my head even more about these people and the locations etc when looking at the map)

Since it was reported by some of the family that she was going to help someone (car troubles)...did the Prue's call her for a set up or was it just a crime of opportunity? LE found the call on phone records? Surely not road rage....?

were either too drugged up or too stupid to even notice the child was in the car? it was dark and they were obviously in a hurry (didn't even turn the ignition off), with an obvious target...?

either way thank goodness he's alive and untouched.

That is a possibility. Maybe Melissa's intuition told her not let them know about the child.

A report from NECN tv:

Sorry I missed the beginning..It may have been about the arraignment.

The couple deny the charges..His sister is "shocked"..She said they're "good ppl" & he's not the "monster" he's being made out to be..LE(& I believe they said prosecutor too) said the evidence of guilt is "great"..Both held without bond..He has a # of odd jobs..The one delivering papers they know was "interrupted" during the time of the crime..Melissa's area is not on his route but this is something (not all) that helped to point to him/them.

I'm sure this will be repeated cos they always do that over&over all day..If I missed anything I'll post it.

One of the links upthread says Melissa lived with her mother....if true, why take the baby with her while going to "help someone"? Maybe grandma wasn't home that night....

I wonder if phone call(s) linked the perps to Melissa?

I read in one of the links (?) that her mom lives very close by..IOW! She did not live with her & also something about a "family farm" in the immediate area.

The family always rallies behind the perps in these cases. They are always "wonderful people" who couldn't harm a flea. Standard procedure.

The news articles I've read have stated that Melissa and her son did live alone, but often times she stayed with her mother.

The way I interpretted it is that, on the night she went missing, she was at her house. Not her mothers.

He also said police want the public to continue providing any information that could help in the investigation and pending prosecution.

Are the perps not talking or are they asking for other circumstantial info...or unknown witnesses? I think they should be charged for something...in leaving the baby out there..like aggravated child endangerment! Someone could have come by and snatched that baby! Is the road so secondary that no one drove it or saw the car for hours?

Anyone know the child's birthdate..or if he was closer to 3 than 2? He looks so big, to me, for 2;and a 3 yr old could prolly say and express more. imo TIA

Maybe pain pills? Melissa could have had some kind of medical condition which required pain meds, and the Prues knew about it?

Just got home, I cannot believe this... I'm all caught up, but still left thinking WTF????
Great job by LE! but more info please!!!

NECN tv UPDATE:

That was the arraignment & it was the Judge that agreed the evidence of "guilt is great"..State police are "confident" they have the right perps..Prue's day-to-day activity was suspicious..(not sure what that means exactly besides what we already know about what went on with his scheduled route/delivery)..Expect court paperwork to be released later today & posted on NECN website..

He def looks big for 2 yrs old..One report stated he did 'reveal' info to LE but all others said he did not..Who to believe? At least today they were only charged with 2nd degree murder & ? disposal of a body..Nothing at all re: the child but that could come later?

Can they also be charged with some kind of child endangerment if LE can prove they abducted the mother and intentionally left the child?

We think alike.

I haven't had a chance to catch up yet, but "strangulation" and only charged with 2nd degree murder? I don't understand. Plenty of time to stop yourself from that act. Especially between the two of them.

I just logged in for the very same reason, ie., total confusion over the cause of death versus the 2nd degree murder charges. It takes a while to strangle someone to death..........2nd degree??? WTH? :waitasec:

This is SO sickening!!!!!!!

UPDATE: Court documents say a VT snow plow driver and his wife lured a school teacher from her home by pretending their vehicle had broken down and they needed help, and then strangled her before throwing her body in a river. The only motive suggested in the court documents filed in the case against 30-year-old Allen Prue and his 33-year-old wife Patricia Prue, of Waterford, was that Allen Prue told police he wanted to "get a girl" on Sunday night. We will have more at 5, 5:30 and 6 on WCAX-TV.

I think they can always up the charges to first degree... Does Vermont use a Grand Jury?
