Maybe he had left his car parked near the stadium and went back to her house in her car? After murdering her, he went back into Seattle to retrieve his car and disperse the "evidence".

When he was arrested, he was staying at a Residence Inn, maybe the Seattle Downtown/Lake Union location at 800 Fairview Ave., N, Seattle, WA 98109. There is also a Residence Inn - Seattle University District, at 4501 12th Ave., NE, Seattle, WA 98105.

I got this info from the article posted by Nancy 2441 [(#338) 04/12/2016 at 1:56 AM]. The link is: www.capitalhillseattle.com. This seems to be the only article that specifically states the location where JC was arrested. All others refer generally to "Snohomish County."

I'm wondering about the person who FOUND the bags of her remains. If they were packaged, how did he see them? Not sure I'd be looking through a garbage bag that was put in my trash bin. Obviously I'm not saying he has anything to do with it. Just curious how he saw the body parts.

I saw him on the news. I can't remember what he said but the poor man seemed distressed and saddened.

Packaged in clear Ziplocks? Then the whole lot placed into two larger bags.

Makes me think maybe he didn't have a car or he would have driven home (unless he was drunk or too disoriented after his gruesome act).

Just saw this on Twitter how awful

This is just horrifying to me. Maybe it's because I'm a divorced nurse with 3 kids at home (and 1 on his own)...but omg, I felt like someone punched me in the stomach when I read she'd been found dismembered. Horrifying. Her poor children.

Yikes, that would hit close to home! She reminds me of my sister who is single, dates online, loves going to Mariners games, has those same light/dark features... She's not 40 and doesn't have kids, but still. Never once (even now) have I thought she's making mistakes or doing things wrong by dating online. I feel so horrible for Ingrid, she was just trying to live a full life. Now I have to be worried about complete psychos getting my sister.

Now I want to dig into his FB. It sounds like he has some deep psychological issues.

One other reason he might have dumped the body in the Central District would be to misdirect LE by trying to make them assume someone in the CD did this. That thought infuriates me. The CD has a vastly higher African American population than the rest of Seattle (though it is becoming more diverse) and is up and coming socioeconomically compared to some of its richer neighboring communities. Why didn't he drop the body in Madison Park or Capitol Hill--each just as convenient as the CD. ??? Maybe this was his version of SODDI. Ugh.

Looking at the address, this is so close to what I would consider Madison Park. The little chunk of neighborhood that he chose, in particular, has become quite gentrified. Though Charlton claims he is "from Seattle," it seems like he's only really lived in Lake Stevens and Auburn. I don't think he intentionally chose the CD, but may have just drove around East of Cap Hill looking for somewhere to dispose of the remains. Especially since it was dark and he wasn't too familiar with the area, I don't think he would have known that that particular neighborhood had such a diverse population.
That said, I get what you mean. The CD has had enough struggles and identity crises without this loser dumping off severed body parts in the recycling bins :(

He could have easily parked her car downtown and walked to the hotel on Fairview. It's not far at all

I'm not sure if it was ever mentioned, did the ex-husband go in to the house or did he just knock and she didn't answer? Reason I'm asking is because if the crime was committed in the home, you would have thought he would have noticed that.

This case is so bizarre, there are so many missing pieces. Ingrid was a beautiful woman and I feel so sorry for her girls. A poster on here posted her instagram account yesterday and she seemed to love her girls very much. Looking at her IG profile though, there are many quotes about being single. This case really breaks my heart.

I think the ex husband realised she wasn't home because her car wouldn't have been parked outside & maybe he did knock but there was no answer? The daily mail article I posted, It was said police had to break in to Ingrids home after she was reported missing.

I had that same thought. We know of arrests in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Florida. He could have been incarcerated anywhere. Also in the 1997 possession of marijuana he was required to complete alcohol education. He does have a few DUI's over the years, there could have been court ordered rehab that is not showing up in online records.

A search on mylife.com indicates he lived in Dallas, TX prior to living in Montana.

Hi alexwood, the link indicates the Residence Inn was in Snohomish County.

"Police officers and U.S. Marshals arrested Charlton without incident in Snohomish County, where he was staying in a Residence Inn."

Also, from link in the "SPD Blotter":
<snip>
cooperation with the Renton Police Department, a search warrant was served in their jurisdiction.
Evidence was recovered during the service of the search warrant.
Based on the investigation, a suspect was identified.
Early this morning, as a result of this on-going investigation an adult male suspect was taken into custody in Snohomish County.

:cow:

I just don't know how a guy would go from never killing anyone to killing someone and cutting up their body.

What I read about the person who found them was he went to bring in the can and felt heaviness to it. He opened the can and saw 3 bags thag were pretty full.. I'm guessing he saw something that made him want to look in the bag. Thank god he did.

I want to google "How hard it is to cut up a human body," but I don't want to end up on a list.
Does anyone have any idea? Is his something that would have required special tools? Expertise? Perhaps he has experience with hunting?

That's what a lot of us are thinking. Bet he's done this before.

Could be he was trying to transport her body with out being suspicious on video. He didn't have a suitcase with him, so he put her bags. Yuck.

It looks like there are two Residence Inn locations in Snohomish County. I added them to the map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z2VLvG6QAl8U.kKfV6N5Nh3EA&usp=sharing

Does anybody have an address we can use to indicate the area where her car was found?
