Something on WS is causing the site to redirect and my AVG anti-virus to give warnings.

I will need more info. URL redirected to, antivirus message etc.

I had a redirect warning message from my antivirus this morning, but it came from a google search for a specific WS thread.

I too am being redirected. On my home computer, office computer, laptop and two iPhones.

I'm using Chrome with plus, malwarebytes in background and Microsoft security essentials with no issues. I wonder how people do by typing websleuths.com directly into their browser without using links to connect.

Can you give me the search terms and thread

I googled: John Cunningham websleuths. I'm running Chrome too. (eta and I have malwarebytes, but it was avast which caught it.)

hth

I normally google websleuths and then whatever thread I am wanting to read. Don't know why I do it that way, I guess maybe easier? Anyway, still redirecting me. Weird.

I took care of the cause of this issue though it is possible there may still be some affects from it. Please keep me updated if this particular bug comes back up.

Note that this one is totally unrelated to the previous AdSense issues that Google was having.

exactly what I run, I too never have these issues. Only difference is I let Chrome autofill the addy, all I have to type is web,I am lazy like that. Takes me straight to the main page.

It's still a problem for me. I googled "websleuths" and clicked on the first link. I got redirected to this: http://myfilestore.com/download.php?id=b682b905.

It just happened.

I continued researching last night and realized the problem was not solved. I have found the issue and I will be working on it but understand this one is a marathon not a race.

It just happened to me.

I clicked this link from Tricia's twitter: (ETA: Just to specify-->I clicked the link inside this tweet)
https://twitter.com/websleuths/status/558176418132004865

I saw WS in the address bar, and then was redirected to this:
http:// myfilestore.com/download.php?id=b682b905

I am on a Windows 7 Pro SP1 desktop, running Chrome Version 39.0.2171.99 m. Plus on my chrome, Malware bytes running in the background, on a SonicWall with McAfee.

I'm using windows 7 on dell home pc and just now got a warning from avast that says: avast web shield has blocked a harmful web page or file.

object: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/mis
infection:HTML: RedirDL-inf(Trj)
process: c:\\Program Files (x86)\...firefox.exe

OK, this is crap. I just got a re-direct to the file share site on my brand new Macbook and I am NOT happy. Is there a possibility that my computer could be compromised?

I just got re-directed by some scam Apple anti-virus site.

A WSer has contacted me and absolutely cannot access WS at all for days. She has uninstalled her antivirus, tried firefox, chrome, ie. Nothing works. I don't know what to tell her.

She sent me a screenshot with websleuths.com in the address bar and she gets timed out and it comes back "Web page not available" with a bunch of possible reasons.
