IS said this morning that all Drew had to eat yesterday the WHOLE day was two cheese sandwiches.

Poor wittle Drew.

Good morning everyone. Got my fingers crossed that this will be the day. I have learned that I can't get any work done with crossed fingers so plan on keeping them crossed for as long as it takes. Already set out my dust rag, furniture spray, and vacuum cleaner. All I got to do now is wait, wait, wait.......

Yes and unfortunately if he is found NG there will be another young, naive girl in his life despite his reputation:banghead:

Just love this tweet:

The women of Bollingbrook,Ill. Have been safe for over 1000 days so far. Lets keep it that way

Just wanted to let you all know I'm stilling reading the Closing Arguments, on page 12 now...
BUT!! I am counting the objections, sidebars, etc for you all!!

I just read the closing ended, so I should be able to post this stuff in a few - had company, so got behind... Sorry! LOL!

Niner, please don't apologize for anything you've done in your special project for all of us.

I think those stats will become a standard to which other pesky cases will be compared. (By "pesky" I mean interruptions by either side, but of course and especially the DT and perhaps another hard-to-figure judge). I really do...

When one of us complains in the future about a p.i.t.a. DT, some one of us will say, "Hey, you don't know nuttin' honey, lemme show you the Peterson case... Look at the "Ninety NINER Theses." (or some such catchy name...)

We love you for it & won't forget all your wonderful & hard work!!!!:takeabow::blowkiss::tyou::websleuther::cheer::applause::goldstar::read::idea:

I saw that too. I wonder how fresh the bread was and the cheese:D IIRC in "That other Trial" sack lunches from the Jail were sent along with her. Nothing like a high carb jail diet.

I'm still very happy that the jury wanted to hear from Kathleen and Stacy again. Allowing the deceased victims to speak in the court room is a HUGE step forward, IMO.

Not only do Kathleen and Stacy and their families deserve justice, we (society) needs a dirty - murdering cop punished for his crimes. We (society) needs to get or regain trust in LE and the legal profession.

his kindness towards the victims of crime.

I hesitated to put the photo in, but we like to discuss all sides to a story here and the caption of the photo is Joe Lopez laughing it up with Jeff Ruby.

It disgusted me when I saw it because I thought that it made him seem disingenuous and made me question everything.....like how did Drew Peterson who has been locked up in a cell for the past three years even know who he was? I always wondered about that--my BS detector went off a bit, but his words to the press and subsequent ads and interviews made me look the other way. Sure Ruby may have been giving him dirty looks in the courtroom, but I began to wonder if that whole thing was staged.

I have been so enthusiastically supportive and complimentary of Jeff Ruby.
His offer of 100K of his own money for anyone who can help us find the body of Stacy, his compassion for the families of the victims. He also is very funny.

Of course this photo doesn't tell the whole story--I never thought that it did, but it did truly give me pause for thought about the whole thing.
I always thought that the courtroom interaction sounded a bit like theatre....
which doesn't take away that he is charitable and honestly so.

I also don't give a hoot if he is looking for some publicity. That is cool by me.
He has a book coming out that he is looking to promote, restaurants and a casino. He is a saavy businessman.

He could have walked up to them and made a sarcastic remark about Harry Smith for all I know.......it just made me stop and reconsider is all.
When I woke up this morning after posting that last night, I wondered if I would be held in contempt for having entertained the notion that he is anything less than honest.

Mr. Ruby, if you are reading this, I still am going to dine in your restaurant when I come to Louisville because your outspoken support for the families of Kathleen and Stacy has touched me and others greatly.
Just please be careful about the company that you keep. Joe the Shark has friends in the "outfit".

One snapshot does not a fallen hero make. Jeff Ruby is not even looking at Lopez in the pics taken. They appear to be laughing at something someone else said (1 of 2 women standing there also).

Pictures don't tell the story; Ruby's actions tell the story. He has put up $100K of his own money for information leading to the discovery of Stacey's body. He has put up his own money to secure hotel rooms for Savio's family/sisters. He has taken ads out in area newspapers to publicly chastise the defense team, the judge, and what he feels are miscarriages of justice. He is going to treat the entire state's team and Savio family to a celebration if a guilty verdict comes in. This guy is putting his money where his mouth is. I give him that credit.

If one or 2 pictures where he's in the same shot as a defense attorney can undo all of that then the media really does have the power of manipulation.

In Session While the Peterson jury deliberates, Judge Burmila is hearing other cases, working through his morning calendar. Several of the defense attorneys are out in the hallway.

Me too. Especially since Stacy has not been found to date. She still has a voice and a voice to help put DP away. It must be some comfort to her Family and Friends. I'm also happy Stacy is in their heads. Somewhere in their personal thinking they have to be asking themselves where is she. Unless they already know.

Even if he walks, I do feel that he will end up being charged, tried and CONVICTED of SP'S death.

This trial, no matter what happens, will be the spring board for a conviction as this case will be EVIDENCE used against him in SP'S death. The state WILL BE able to use the Savio case(unlike this case where the state could NOT use SP vanishing)as evidence to present to a jury.

young girls find so attractive? I don't get it.
I wonder what it is about him that they are drawn to. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I was sickened by that young woman that was living in his house with him (and his children from Kathleen and Stacy!) when Stacy was still "missing" and the investigation over Kathleen's death was still in the works.
I couldn't believe it. I remember the young woman's father was speaking out against it. It was like playing with fire.

I can't wait until NO ONE talks about him anymore and he just has a prison #. He thrives on all of the attention. It is what he is all about.

They already know. Even though they weren't allowed to mention it at trial there is no way you can live in Will County and not have heard about Stacy's disappearance.

I remember well the fallout after the CA verdict (debacle). The teeth gnashing and hysteria and venting and ranting. I think so many people felt completely helpless because the outcome was not in their control and they didn't know what to do with all their emotion and energy. They wanted revenge as well as justice. Totally understandable. Look, we all hope for a just outcome in this (and every) case, but what a jury decides is completely out of our control.

So what can everyone control? There *is* a way to channel energy in a way that actually helps. Whether your personal cause is missing children or abused & missing spouses or whatever... there are really fine organizations that are devoted to helping. They always needs assistance, resources, fund raising, volunteering, whatever. Not to single any one organization out, but just to name a few who are highly regarded:

- Klaas Kids
- TES (Texas Equisearch)
- Local/Regional K9 and SAR programs
- Regional domestic violence prevention programs & shelters

It doesn't necessarily mean writing a check either. There are ways to help and it is something positive and proactive that can make a difference.

Nothing will bring back Caylee or Kathleen or Stacey or others who have lost their lives to the selfish actions of someone else, but taking anger and frustration and putting it towards something that can help is empowering. Everyone has the power to make a difference in some way. Please keep that in mind.

Thanks for this post, Mad! Even when the verdict is the way we want it to be, we can still get involved with one of the organizations that you have listed or others. Your work, Maddie, with Nancy's (Cooper) Butterfly organization is a good example. It really does help when one is dealing with either a "bad" verdict or a "good" verdict when the victim is still gone from this world.

Thanks, Madeleine, for your words.

Good Morning Peeps -- Positive Thoughts, Positive Thoughts for Justice for Kathleen!!!

That's what I'm thinking/hoping.

Mike Brooks just stated he feels strongly we will see a Verdict in a couple hours :please: Didn't hear why. Poptarting here.
