Would it be possible for Tricia (or another administrator) to post a screen shot of what the site will look like in its new digs?

No problem with actual functions, Tricia. But the color scheme is impossible for many of us with vision problems. Particularly the light yellow print or light gray print. Can the font color be made darker? Screenshot with red arrows for my areas of concern --- I realiy cannot read them at all unless I enlarge my screen A LOT.
I just now see you Sorrell, dont think for a minute you can hide. Youre stuck with this group. Locked together, you might say. There's no escape, my friend.
Thank you guys. Since my old password was still saved, I was able to make a NEW password. So I should be able yo log in with my new password next week. LOL
THANK YOU....:loveyou:
This will be the second change since I've been a member (as far as I can recall). The site formatting I originally started with was much better than the current format, in my opinion - and it did just as you said, deterred me from using. I hope this next change will be an improvement. Fingers crossed.
One screen shot has already been posted.
This new software integrates with Facebook allowing easy registration and sharing. I’m not a FB user but I recognize these new options will thrill FB users. The navigation is very common sense and streamlined. I don’t know what happened in 2016 but I can’t imagine it was so disappointing or ineffective to lose so many members. The main fear I’m reading in this thread is the loss of tap-a-talk and I sympathize with them. It’s a convenience of communication methods and we need all the “easy” we can get in this world. I get that. I’ve read here for over eight years but freely admit I’ve only been a member for less than two months. It’s a great place to find comradeship with common interests and am already addicted. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.2016, I remember that. As I recall that upgrade was not very popular, and some people left the forum because of it. I also hope this one goes better. Changes are only good if they are an improvement.

No, I don’t see anywhere that it’s a requirement, just a lot of options for it that aren’t here. I know people use it, it’s just not my thing and I don’t see that changing. For some, it will be a plus. Kaboom, would you mind sharing a couple of things that made the last update unpopular? tiaI don't use Facebook either, so I hope Facebook is not a requirement. I have seen many websites fail, when they tried to integrate with Facebook. I know that most people use Facebook, but many of us use forums like this because we don't like Facebook.

I’m in total agreement about the Facebook and social media Ms. Davis. This is as social as I get. A requirement would be a deal breaker for me. I just looked again, there is no requirement. It’s a useful function for Facebook sharing of flyers and such I think. I agree with the print assessment. I’ve never even owned a cell phone so I can only imagine the size. I am having a little anxiety for those on phones. I have no idea (or can’t remember) if any of the testers were on phones. I hope it works for you. I’d hate to lose those eyes. Your profile line is perfect. It should become our motto for the next week. It might get a little bumpy but I’m pretty sure we’ll all arrive safely.I would be very disappointed if Facebook membership became a requirement here. I don't do FB, or any other social media, for that matter, and don't want to start. I was using a wonderful TV grid for a couple of years because I've never liked Comcast/Xfinity grid. The TV site changed a few months ago, requiring FB membership for access. I was not a happy camper Luckily, I discovered the TV Guide website that is actually better than the other one I was using.
This may have been already brought up. Thanks button has been converted to a likes button. Any thoughts out there of how this wording will affect your use of this function? I think Tricia (maybe?) already brought up the Trophy Points which will be awarded according to the amount of likes.
Oh thank you thank you Chi-mama. Ive been concerned for those that use phones. I saw you over there and started a conversation inviting you to say whats up. I am so very appreciative of your positive post. There was no way I could address the phone questions.Just came back from the Beta test on my IPhone. It looked so good I was shocked! I realize that Tapatalk had some great features especially in time savings but please at least give our new home a try! When the move is over just click your browser and go to Websleuths. You might be pleasantly surprised.
I'm looking forward to the move. There are some features in the new software that I really like:
1. The 'alerts' feature that tells you when someone has replied to a post you've made or has posted a comment in a thread you're 'watching'
2. The 'tag' feature that alerts you when someone has tagged you in a post (similar to the 'tag' feature on FB)
3. The 'conversation' feature where you can chat with up to five other people, but it looks just like the regular threads (instead of the pm feature we have now)
4. The ease with which we're able to post youtube videos and pics - sooo easy!!!
5. The 'undo' and 'redo' button when posting a comment
There may be more bells & whistles that I like, as well, but those are my top five that I can think of right now.
I'm glad I volunteered to beta-test. Not only did I get to know some awesome posters, but it eased my anxiety about moving to the new software. I feel at home there already!
I’m pretty sure you know how I feel about them. They’re out of place. This isn’t a game. I like the likes but the trophies make it seem like a competition. These cases are people’s lives - not chess pieces. It’s not been a popular addition for some of us.ugh ... the "Trophy Points". Unless someone can explain a good purpose for them, it sounds too much like a competition for middle school. I imagine some will like trophies and some will ignore them. Trophies just don't make sense in a crime forum.
JMO, as usual
