Please kindly provide a link to any government or real estate industry data that supports this statement because it contradicts every published study that I can find (everything I found indicates that tourism, rental market and resale markets have all IMPROVED since the onset of this case).

Exactly, that's why I think this is in some way connected to a cop or a politician. It seems like they are hiding something.
I realize that in the real world cases are not solved in 45 minutes but I wish they would be a little bit more open. Even on regular day to day policing the SCPD has historically been very mum. Trying to get any sort of information from them is next to impossible. I once asked for crime statistics for my particular community and they sent me on a wild goose chase eventually to find out that the SCPD - a major police force - does not even keep records about crime rates and patterns at the community level. Can you believe that? A police force that does not keep records of long term crime patterns in particular communities. :waitasec:

LINative13--I hate to say it, but I'm really beginning to feel that this case is going ice cold too...Yes, I know that LE is being very tight lipped about it but to hear absolutely nothing (other than the discovery of recent body) doesn't give me much confidence. I'd like to think that they're onto whoever the killer (s) are and have them under survelliance as well as developing more evidence. We're not even hearing a pin drop amongst the cobwebs...Is the FBI involved in the investigation at all? I'd hate to see a year go by, then two and not have anyone in custody.

I am not privy to the knowledge of how involved the FBI is or is not. I am frustrated. I think its malarkey (quoting that show band of brothers)...they got a body (SG), they have all kinds of bogus stories stated and restated (JB, MP, CPH). Put the damn screws to these guys and make them squeal. None of them have any backbone, especially our killer. There is one theory I have that keeps popping up in my head....the organized crime factor. How do we know some gangster (I dont mean gangs like bloods or crips, I mean real deal gangsters, guys that control strip clubs, ports, union labor....catch my drift?)showed up and told everyone to shutup or they will be back. MP and SGs boyfriend showed up a few days later right? How do we know that they did not carry a message from a "friend"? I dont know, I am angry and rambling.

oops, I left off the guy who killed the duck hunter's uncle in a murder-for-hire plot set up by the duck hunter's female first cousin. The one-time teenage shooter is now an ex-con with a Master's Degree in Social work and runs a jobs program for ex-offenders in NYC. He is working on his PHD.
