Serious. In their search for Jayme. But not related to Jayme.
It just gets weirder and weirder.

Based on the jail roster, it looks like law enforcement has been checking up on anyone in the area on probation. This makes me think in their continued follow up with sex offenders or others, they found something big, but it has nothing to do with Jayme.

I wonder if KJA had targeted Jayme’s clothing prior to this. Having your personal clothing stolen is horrible for a young teen and her parents. Perhaps this sort of situation made her parents overly protective of Jayme. I know, slim chance she was victimized by two different perps...just grasping.

When these cases occur. Sometimes it’s a plus to understand the community. I think in the midst of a horrific crime, these stories may be Germaine. At least I hope so.

I’m posting this mainly because it reflects several things

A basic human compassion by this small town as a whole.

We’ve discussed how many bad criminals live near, but these two stories reflect the flip side. A compassion acceptance and knowledge badness to others. And it is as much a part of the town as the criminals/sex offenders who live and work in Barron. It also helps to know Sheriff Fitzgerald has experience addressing some pretty diverse issues.

It shows a side of the community I think we sometimes forget. The good side, the reason people like the Closs family were born there and choose to raise their families there. It’s small town America 2018. A positive view.

And if it’s not appropriate then please delete with an apology in advance.

Man with last name Duncan had them. ( James Duncan, I believe).
I posted about the case approx. 2 pages back. :)

Was he known to the family, or was it a random attack? And did he live locally or was he out of town?

Poll

YES: You think abduction of Jayme was the primary purpose of this crime.

Or

NO: You do NOT think the abduction of Jayme was the primary purpose of this crime.

I know most of you have considered all the great ideas and multiple scenarios, but what is your strongest gut feeling or thought process on just that Yes or No.

Thank you.

Results from page 43 to 47

2 Undecided (Margarita25, SkipperKey3)

2 NO (kay74, Lillymac)

4 YES (SandyQLS, Paul S., Jbetty567, Regit)

Anyone else?

Yes, there is very little chance that she will be found alive. All we can do is hope this will be one of those rare cases where she is found safe. But you are right, after two weeks it does not look good at all. I hope this will not be like so many other cases where two years later they still do not have any promising leads.

Agreed, it's not looking good. We have seen a lot of statistics that say kidnapping victims are usually killed in the first 24-48 hours. Are there any stats for victims who are rescued alive as to how long it was before they were found? I feel like most that are alive are found alive quickly, but I know there are longer term cases like Elizabeth Smart. Just wondering if anyone has found the average number of days/weeks/months a living victim endures?

Respectfully, I think the victimology suggests that to murder 2 adults while 13 year old Jayme was in the house ( per Sheriff press releases) the involvement of more than one perp. I've always thought there could have been 2 people involved in the murders/ abduction.
The home invasion and murders of the Savopoulos parents, their 10-yo son and their housekeeper show these horrific crimes can be committed by just one person. I was certain the killer in that case had "help" and it still blows my mind that he didn't. There are several plausible theories about what happened in the Closs case that may have involved just one perp. JMO

The sheriff cleared KJA as the person who took Jayme. He didn't clear him as the murderer of her parents. Just something to keep in mind.
JMO MOO IMO
I think he was cleared in any involvement surrounding the abduction. It's not likely that he murdered them and then someone else came along several minutes later to abduct her. Jmo

Now that posting has slowed down, I would be very interested in internal polling here. I am not the best poster to setup that sort of thing, but I would like to see condensed opinions as percentages. For example:

YES: You think abduction of Jayme was the primary purpose of this crime.

Or

NO: You do NOT think the abduction of Jayme was the primary purpose of this crime.

I know most of you have considered all the great ideas and multiple scenarios, but what is your strongest gut feeling or thought process on just that Yes or No.

there was one case I followed on here where someone did a home invasion and killed like 6 members of family with a baseball bat not even a gun. I was convinced it was multiple people till the case was solved. So it is certainly possible.

In cases like these I also think about Jaycee Dugard. While her abduction didn't include murdering her family, I'm still shocked by the fact that a little girl can be taken and hid away for 18 years. It does happen though.
