This is a very good question. The State DCI set up and monitored the cams 24/7. In addition to that, the panty thief claimed that the patio door was unlocked. Are these things 'standard procedure'? Who was this trap set for?
I really hope the D.A. is vigorous in seeking every possible charge against this miscreant who raided the crime scene. His actions are beyond despicable.

Your post is interesting though, in that I believe -despite the overwhelming odds against it - that Jayme *is* still alive. LE will be watching for some very specific behaviors, and will have various individuals briefed on what to look for.

I'm not going to go in to specifics as to what I think those behaviors are. I don't want to give Jayme's abductor any indication of what will be looked for - stuff most people wouldn't think of. And yes, I'm sure Jayme's abductor is watching the news and what's being posted online.

I also think Jayme's abductor doesn't want to hurt her, maybe they really even care about her a lot. But Jayme is really just a little girl, and she needs to go home to her Aunt and her little dog who is waiting for her. Jayme must be so very, very sad without her little dog.

The very best Christmas present Jayme could get would be to go home to her Aunt and little dog. That would make her so happy, and would be the right thing to do.

I believe the right thing will happen, and Jayme will go home. I hope it's in time for Christmas. What a wonderful thing to do for Jayme! She would be so happy.

God Bless

I think sheriff office should take advantage of New Year’s Day ... nobody is out.. roads clear...

Take a drone run it 20 ft in air birds eye view slowly from police station direct to Closs home....

Then at Closs home real estate style video
Drone through doorway Then entire house.. stage it to family’s liking..

Then drone video with 3 possible exits showing highway and business..

The real estate drone vids are 80$ to $120
They have drones ... the real estate you can outsource...

Would keep case in headlines... and if your homeowner / biz owner shown on drone vid.. maybe u get a feeling .. clue..

Entire video wouldn’t be 10 minutes or more..you would certainly put folks there..
And if your local... might trigger thought..

Does anyone know how far a perp could live away from a crime scene without LE being able to tie his phone to the crime scene.
Is it the same street, two or three streets, more?

Don’t follow

Perp leaves phone home.. could live 2 house down .. 2 states away...not sure police could rule either in or out...

Are u asking if perp turns phone off 4 blocks away can they tie to crime scene ?? Not sure I follow...

I'm a little confused...are you asking how far a phone's location is able to be traced/pinged? Could you give an example or hypothetical scenario of what you're wondering?

I mean if the perp was local and lives really close to the Closs home and had his phone with him. Could you tell if he was home with his phone, or at/around the Closs house.

Let's say the perp would live within 1,5 miles from the Closs home. Could he have been hanging around the Closs home observing them etc. (while he had his phone with him) without LE being able to tell phonewise.

How accurately can you pinpoint a phone?

I am not sure a lot of variables..there are a lot of 3rd party apps that open perp up to tracking.. in addition to the phone/cellular carrier... that might be more accurate and might be easier for LE to get info on .... map apps / fitness tracking / step counter/

Just because phone is off they can still pick up info...roaming...

Likely if he’s in front door of house .. phone would try to grab WiFi in Closs house.. but think that info needs to be pulled asap from router before it’s turned off and on..

I doubt perp planned murder/kidnap at 1 am and took phone ?? Never know..

Plus if perp has phone on 30 nights in row either all night or till 3 am and oct 15 is only night his phone is dead... kinda suspicious

Couple new ideas to share MOO, MOO, and more MOO

I’ve noticed the chatter this morning is surrounding munitions. The weekend before the tragedy, there was a gun show in Turtle Lake. I’m sure law enforcement has done their due diligence and investigated purchases made during the show. I don’t think this event has been mentioned previously on the board, so I thought I would raise a flag. Also, the weekend of the tragedy, there was a gun show at Sevenwinds Casino, about an hour north of Barron. Gun shows certainly aren’t unusual for this time of year or this area of the country – just something to ponder.

Online challenge? I remember seeing a “poem” (for lack of a better term) on the boards early into the tragedy – something about a “prank gone wrong”. It was quickly deleted by the mods. I’ve noticed an uptick in the “Momo” challenge news. I’m not going to get into it here. Google it, if you want. Although, Momo has more to do with suicide, rather than inflicting pain on others. I don’t think it is too farfetched to look into the possibility of this being a crime perpetrated by an online meme challenge.

And one last thought – Jayme has several dozen “selfies” that are being shared by family and friends. I’m not going to post them here, because it’s not my place. I must note, however, that a girl who many have considered to have a limited online presence, there seems to be a lot of selfies floating around. These pics are of a much more mature Jayme. I’m not trying to imply anything here. I’m just wondering why these pics aren’t making the rounds as much as the others.

Again, MOO, MOO, and more MOO.
Very interesting about the gun shows hope you are right and le checked out purchases etc. I am really writing because I do remember that post about "a prank gone wrong" I was stuck on that for awhile thinking could the killer have wrote that. Over time I forgot about it and did not know it was snipped. Do you know why it was snipped? I remember it gave me an errie feeling. Do you remember rest of poem I think there was another line something about a friend and him....

I'm trying to think of a scenario in which there were two people involved. One shooter/abductor and one driver.
And where the shooter had been alone in the dark near the Closs home, waiting for the right moment. And a driver that would have to get a signal to pull into the driveway at the right moment.

Barron County sheriff: 'There is a tip out there' about Jayme

“As families get together over the next week we ask that you continue to look for behavior or routine changes in people. There is a tip out there!” Fitzgerald said in a Facebook post.

“Maybe you don’t want to make that call because you are friends or family with the suspect. Do Jayme a favor this Christmas and call the tip line with your information,” Fitzgerald wrote.“

Barron County sheriff: ‘Do Jayme (Closs) a favor this Christmas and call the tipline’

“BARRON — Officials with the Barron County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, Dec. 21 made another appeal for information in the disappearance of 13-year-old Jayme Closs, missing since Oct. 15, when her parents were found murdered in their Barron home.“

(Sorry I see this has already been posted)

Driver waits slightly hidden ... no phones. Keep windows down... you here two loud shots. Pull up to house pop the trunk we’re gone opposite direction on hwy 8 ... drive speed limits to cabin or garage...

Who of the home residents had time enough to hide a laptop? Seems, it was hidden most of time. By whom? Who shouldn't have known? What data should have been hidden? Interesting, this ......

Imo I think that has been misconstrued.

Imo there is nothing sinister nor were they purposefully hiding anything such as a laptop.

It would be logical LE would have the dog go through the house looking for any electronic communication device/s hoping to find a link to the perp and victims to see if they had communicated with each other. Imo they found nothing of importance or of evidentiary value on the laptop.

An old laptop could have been stored away in a storage box somewhere in the home or basement and of course the dog would alert to that particular spot where it was stored away.

I think most everyone has old retired laptops or computers or older cell phones put away in a storage container somewhere in their home out of sight.

I think the two loud shots the neighbours heard at 00.31 were not the shots that killed the victims, but were fired to create a false timeline.
The 911 call wasn't suppose to happen. And if it hadn't happen, the crime wouldn't have been discovered until at least Monday morning. And if that had been the case, the neighbours would have said, we heard two shots at 00.31.
Any car that would have driven at the road in front of the house a lot later wouldn't have have fit the time line.

This maybe a stupid question but is there any way to know if victims were shot with a silencer?

The perp(s) could have lingered in the darkness of the crawl space/basement...maybe?? If so, that would allow more time to scope out the area, maybe the get away car was waiting on a walking trail or make shift road towards the back of the Closs property.
I think the dog would have barked if there was someone in the basement. But there's a lot of vegetation around the house to hide.

Prior deleted.

OT follows.

A couple months ago I deleted all files, pictures, documents, and most programs on three of our old laptops. Then securely wiped all free space multiple times with both Bleachbit and CCleaner. Dropped them off with a couple other electronic gadgets at the local computer shop for recycling.

Items collect dust and if I'm positive we aren't going to use them again we get rid of them. We still have five laptops between the two of us. Like a magnet we have a tendency to attract electronic gadgets.

I strongly recommend anyone disposing of computers to thoroughly erase and overwrite the disk free space or remove the disk and take a sledge hammer to it. A deleted file if not over written is retrievable. I've successfully used Recuva multiple times.

Interesting theory... love new ideas... I just don’t see perps starting with false timeline...shooting close to 60 yr old couple who may or may not be asleep ..or in shower..

I think your right 100 percent right perps didn’t bet on 911 call... that doesn’t happen.. likely never caught..

I think perps intent was kick door in take 10 steps to bedroom take out parents... inside house... it’s muzzled... either perps we’re loud approaching house or pre argument.. shots at door..don’t know but I don’t think intent was shooting people through front door..

They have a full basement which has to be entered via a window or the home itself.
