SBM. Pure speculation, but I was watching an ID channel show last night and the survivor of a horrible home invasion said she was able to get LE to come by yelling for Siri to call 911. It took a few tries over the struggle noises but she was successful.

I wonder if someone in the home activated Siri or an android equivalent (?) to contact police and that is why the yelling sounds distant and/or muffled?
You can use Siri to call 911. But if you want to be secretive about it, only need to hold the on/off button while also holding the up or down volume button. Countdown begins as you hold the 2 opposing buttons and 911 is signaled/called. iPhone 7 and 8 at least. .

yes, i thought of voice-activated 911 call as well. reminds me of that high school student however many months ago who was trapped by the seat in his van and his phone was elsewhere in the car but he activated by yelling out call 911. I believe those calls were muffled which complicated things of course and unfortunately he ended up passing. Ugh that poor kid
That was totally awful...his father had to find him too. Horrible.

The wooden chair taken from the home has been bugging me. I went back to the CNN video, and I thought I saw three short pieces of rope dangling from three corners of the chair.

I know there was some speculation as to whether one or both of the victims was restrained. And, I believe most chair cushions have only two ties - both in back.

You can see this at the 00:48 mark (the guy carrying the chair has his head turned away from the camera).

Thoughts?

Several posters said similar things this morning - LE took it as evidence so can only think something bad happened in that chair - the party was Sunday afternoon so they could have come home and been held hostage - the Dad had to work according to the grandfather that was at the party and he did not attend I believe and he may have come home late and discovered something horrible IMO

Weird thought based on the sighting of her in Florida which would be kind off impossible
Could she be in Canada, it's a hell of a lot closer, easier to disappear in and the folks farther north might not be as aware of the case as in the states.
As a fellow Wisconsinite who has family land up north it's not unusual for people to have a getaway plan or a road trip planned for Canada- and while the border isn't unregulated you can get through easily with little suspicion.
This is true...I havent been through international falls in 20 or so years but it was pretty sleepy and unassuming.

from my understanding, LE either doesn't know or they haven't publicly released that info if they do know. MSM articles seem to run on the assumption it was Jayme but we don't know for sure. I'd say i'm 50/50 also, really could've been either.
Thought: maybe the 911 call ended due to a drop in cell service? Would it be possible to know if that's why a call ended by examining phone?

Does anybody know if there was an advanced search of the wooded area. Believe me, it is very easy to get lost up north, because of the plentiful trees and the vast barrenness of the area. The idea that she could be in the woods is also a credible theory. Does anybody know about that tv show where a girl is hidden in the bunker in the woods? I have a theory that this could be what has happened, but it was likely a family member.

Thoughts?

Law enforcement continues to come/go from #JaymeCloss search hqtrs in Barron Co. Including FBI, WI Div of Criminal Investigation & local police. Sheriff calls it a 24-7 operation w/ enough manpower to throw on any tip that comes in day & night. Nearby prayer vigil starts at 7pm.

Man, I hope she will come home safe.

THIS BRINGS UP A GREAT POINT!
The 911 call was from a cellphone... the service up there is trash. Any provider is terrible up there. This could tie up a loose end.

I don't believe the sighting in Miami is her. If you just kidnapped a girl who was the subject of an AMBER alert and national news coverage, would you let her sit in the front seat of a car casually hanging out at a gas station? Nevermind that she would have just walked through two major airports with a police BOLO for her.

That car could be a rental car which would explain the WI plates. LE should have been able to quickly establish the owner or rental company before releasing the footage to the press. Very strange.
Perhaps to throw off a suspect they are secretly searching?

Let the secret suspect get complacent thinking the LE is not on HIS/THEIR trail?

Just a thought....

I was just reading and I am sorry I cannot remember exactly where but the Closs's had been employed for 27 years at that plant. In online searches I am only finding they have ties to 2 areas Lady Smith and Barron. It would make sense they would be fairly well known in that area, however the neighbors commenting they were a bit reclusive is strange. I wonder how long those neighbors have been there? Just curious and being nosy I suppose.

Given the time of night that this occurred and the Father feeling comfortable enough to answer the door at that hour, it's my feeling that he may have known the shooter(s). Yes, as others have posted, Jayme I'm guessing was the target. I wonder if the Father came armed to the door? If he knew the person/people at the door and felt comfortable with them, then he probably didn't. If he did, then the bad guy(s)/gal(s) probably took the weapon from him after they shot him.

All speculation on the last part with him coming armed to the door, but sounds as though, based on the positioning of his body, he was either escorting someone out of the house or answering the door.

Going to take a break and return tomorrow to see what new info is here.

I know we all like to think no one would open the door to a stranger late at night but it simply is not the case. Most of the home invasions have involved victims opening the door when someone knocked or rang the doorbell late at night or early morning.

Most do not keep up with cases like we do about such things. Many especially in small communities are still very trusting.

Although I think I read that their home showed forced entry but many times that is not the case.
